Interview with Ray Grainger, Founder & CEO of Mavenlink
25 October 2010 - We asked Ray Grainger, Founder & CEO of Mavenlink, a few questions about his company and his view of the markets they serve.
GETAPP.COM: Who are you and what is your role in the company?
GRAINGER: Founder & CEO.
GETAPP.COM: Can you briefly present your management team?
GRAINGER: Sean Crafts - Founder & Marketing and Community Development; Roger Neel - Founder & Product Strategy and Development.
GETAPP.COM: Are you a cloud or a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company?
GRAINGER: Yes.
GETAPP.COM: How do you use and promote usage of cloud computing?
GRAINGER: With Mavenlink, it doesn't matter if you are working in San Francisco, India, or anywhere in between. You can log into your account and collaborate with all of your clients, colleagues, and service providers anywhere you can get an internet connection. Also, we integrated with Google Apps very early, as Google Apps offers many cloud features such as their Google Docs, which benefits many of our users.
GETAPP.COM: What are the points of difference of your solutions?
GRAINGER: Mavenlink is the first cloud technology to bring together the best of project collaboration and professional services automation under one roof. Users are able to manage projects, track time and expenses, invoice, and get paid online.
GETAPP.COM: How would you like to be evaluated by a prospect?
GRAINGER: We would hope that a prospect would evaluate all their options with their key interests in mind, which platform will: 1) make them the most efficient, 2) provide the best possible experience for their colleagues, and 3) be the easiest to adopt.

GRAINGER: We are at the forefront of online project collaboration and understand how work should happen online. Our platform is easy to use, drives significant time savings, and improves the business relationships for both organizations and their service providers. We are committed to our customer's success and engage regularly with many of our users. We enjoy user feedback and incorporate their recommendations into our development process.

GRAINGER: We have over 15,000 users and thousands of businesses across the globe using Mavenlink.
GETAPP.COM: What do you see as the key trend emerging in the industry?
GRAINGER: Each day, more and more aspects of business are moving online and becoming location independent. As more business is being conducted online, independents and organizations are looking to make sure that their online workplace is secure and reflects their brand. It is for these reasons, along with creating an easier and more efficient way to conduct business, that we created Mavenlink.
