Overview
TARGET MARKET: like most Traceland applications, OkiTracki addresses to two categories of beneficiaries:
- The direct beneficiaries of our software solution, i.e. the purchasers of the service, who will use it in the within of the daily execution of the own operating activities, and possibly involving in this their business partners / subcontractors. Direct beneficiaries could be for instance: transportation companies, freight forwarders, express couriers, 3PL, businesses or other organizations transporting products and materials on their own.
- The customers of the direct beneficiaries, that would benefit from a better degree of control over movements pertaining their freight.
OVERVIEW
The solution is based on use of a modular, flexible yet technically specialized software application, designed to allow coverage a variable mix of requirements through configuration of the available features . In case new requirements raised which cannot be addressed by the existing features, Traceland would be available to evaluate the opportunity to develop new features on a project basis. Minor or widely usable improvements could be developed by Traceland at its own cost.
The application adopts a relational database (RDBMS) whose key entities are:
- Activities (that for instance for OkiTracki correspond to shipments, for TrackEat correspond to product lots, etc.) with numerous time/space/mode-related attributes that characterize them
- Statuses / actions / events etc., freely definable and classifieable by each single customer and whose data can be collected across time and space in different modes. They describe the history of the activities mentioned above
- Links between activities, helpful to define trees anc chains of activities
- Operational actors involved on the operational processes tracked (e.g.: the field personnel individuals)
- Internal or external organizational units to whom the operational actors belong (e.g.: plants, the partners' depots, etc.), or simply referenced by the tracking details (e.g.: the service requestors or recipients)
- Locations where the latter are based or operate
- Activity programs assigned to the personnel actively involved in the operational processes and their tracking activities (e.g.: trip plans in the case of OkiTracki, training plans for Track´n´Win users, ..) through wich actions for a given activity are planned and assigned to individuals, who can then interactively browse the plan and track actual actions / events through their devices.

This permits to trace the entire flow, possibly including even pre/post-delivery activities (e.g.: consignment stock handling actions, returns). Among the external functions to which OkiTracki can be linked we can mention: legacy T&T and fleet localization solutions, MRPs, TMS.

Okitracki customers benefit from:
- a tremendous reduction of clerical activity associated with collection, archiving and retrieval of much of the shipments related paperwork: filing legal documents will become sufficient in most cases.
- a drastic reduction of shipment status analysis efforts, turning it into a much more efficient and proactive monitoring task and leaving routine checks be made by customers themselves through self inquiries or, where activated, automatic feedback transmissions via e-mail.
These savings will result particularly tangible when your company is used to sub-contract part of the operational activities to third parties (individuals, distributors, custom brokers, etc.) who, through specific system features and by means of various tools, can take direct responsibility of recording relevant events into the main database where they become immediately available for inquiries.
B) SAVINGS ON DIRECT LABOUR AND CONSUMABLES (FUEL, DRIVE HOURS, ...)
An accurate tracking process helps reduce errors (e.g.: wrong deliveries, losses, etc.) or at least promptly identify and more effectively address them.
On this respect there are specifically designed features that help reach an outstanding degree of accuracy on operational tasks (e.g.: control over correspondance between planned delivery address and actual geografic coordinates while delivering the goods).
On the same time, by using the fleet localization feature, it becomes possible to regularly monitor the actual execution of the pick-up/deliveries schedule and thus promptly take all corrective actions meant to take opportunities or promptly address raising issues (e.g.: compacting loads, transferring jobs, adding stops or adjusting their sequence, etc.).
Furthermore, by chosing to implement linkages between OkiTracki and other software modules, or adding new features to it, customers can benefit from additional cost reduction opportuinities derived from usage of computerized operational planning tools (loads and trip planning, linkages with load exchange marketplaces, etc.).

Technical Details
OkiTracki involves of four modules and integrates with external software to manage add-on functions.
1. The main web module with all user interfaces (essentially for manual data entry and reporting)
2. A module containing the SOAP “webservices” allowing inbound automatic data collection from other systems (for shipments definition, events, and soon for part of the master data)
3. A batch module governing email / SMS alerts
4. A client-server mobile front-end for field real-time tracking of events plus field-force assistance, involving:
a. a batch (server) synchronizer
b. a .NET client installable on Windows Mobile / Windows CE devices (PdA) of whatever brand/model
Furthermore, the solution integrates or may integrate external software and services for specific add-on functions: a UI provider for cell-phone users, a gateway for SMS messaging, an email server provider, a document management ASP provider (when needed).

Data and application servers are hosted by first-class hosting partners. We can also arrange for customer-hosted solutions upon request. SLA would normally be in excess of requirements.
Services are developed with a 3-layer architecture (database, business logic, presentation layer). Database access is never exposed to the external.
Support availability depends on specific requirements (timezone, coverage, language etc. and thus has to be negotiated on a case-by-case basis).
