Review for OfficeMedium
Could OfficeMedium be the SME portal of the future?
by AccMan on 2010-02-15 16:30:43
One of my regular readers had been asking about using a wiki as a way of letting clients know the progress on their work. A wiki could fulfill that purpose but OfficeMedium looks like it could do a lot more. There is plenty to like about this service, not least the sandbox style demo area where you can log in and ferret about as much as you wish. OfficeMedium is a good starting point and as a generic style of intranet it shows considerable promise.

Pros: Contact management (a la CRM) is a big deal for professionals and OfficeMedium has this as standard. This distinguishes it from say Sharepoint which does not have that same capability out the box.
Cons: Being based on open source means that it should be capable of massive extension and customization. If OfficeMedium wants to make an impact into professional services organizations then that is the direction it has to go.
Best Uses: This is a market segment that will only get more interesting in the coming year as more development organizations start thinking about how they can bring Web 2.0 style components together into coherent services that have obvious business value.

Review for Mavenlink
Simple way to manage client project collaboration online
by Taylor Miles on 2010-10-06 20:45:30
Easy to use and helps me save time while juggling multiple clients across the US. I had been looking for a way to organize all my project communication and collaborate online with clients and subcontractors all in one place. Previously email was the preferred method of communication, but its not ideal. Mavenlink allows me to keep all group communication in one place on one page. This keeps everyone on the same page with very little additional effort. Once implemented everyone I work with can be more efficient and clients feel like they are being kept in the loop. My goal is to work smart....not hard. Using Mavenlink with other Google Apps products like gist and freshbooks is going to help me get there.

Pros: Project collaboration, time tracking, invoicing (HUGE PLUS), easy to see the entire project and all back-and-forth in one place. The new time tracking software and invoicing software have really helped my small business.
Cons: I would like private label and to be able to host it on my own URL, but I believe they are rolling that out this month.
Best Uses: I use it for all the pros listed above, and I can track all of my subcontractors, service providers, and most importantly, employees. They also integrated with Google Apps, which takes the cloud computing to the next level.
Review Context: I do online marketing, analytics, SEO, etc.
Review for Clarizen
I would highly recommend it to other PMs
by Projectmanager60 on 2011-10-17 20:05:48
I'm using Clarizen to plan and execute my projects. I have a small project management business and a small team, but we really appreciate how easy it is to use the Clarizen software and how it helps us use our time and manage our resources so effectively. I would highly recommend that other PMs try the free trial.

Review for Podio
Review Of Podio
by FHD on 2011-08-22 13:38:09
Podio is one of the easiest and most flexible management solutions I came across, it is as far as I know a rather new product therefore some obvious features are missing such as cross space referance

Pros: Affordable, flexible, easy to use (absolutely no programming experience required), development team actually react on user input and I have seen several examples on implemented user suggestions. Learning curve is very small
Cons: no cross space reference, no cross space reference, no cross space reference, damn it. This is the most (and properly only) annoying thing about Podio...
Best Uses: In Our Company we use it for CRM, vehicle control, work process control and task management
Review Context: I run a swimming pool company in Kuwait and Podio is becoming a more and more integrated part of our daily work.
Review for AtTask
Provides all the tools we need to manage our projects work!
by Jerry on 2011-08-04 09:17:43
It really offers a lot of power and a great ability to deliver customized reports about virtually anything related to work. One of the most interesting part is the integration of all modules into a single solution: issue tracking, project management, time tracking, resource management, and portfolio management.

Review for WORKetc CRM + Projects
Good option if integrating various apps is your main pain point
by Alein Resch on 2010-11-08 05:30:25
This is a very comprehensive suite of must have services that include CRM, collaboration and billing. Each individual service offer a comprehensive set of features. It compares well to other integrated solutions such as Zoho or Salesforce.com and offers more than single function products that only do invoicing, time tracking or CRM.

Review for ProWorkflow
Highly flexible
by Dale on 2011-11-29 16:29:00
For small businesses like mine, the list of time tracking solutions is endless. I am very happy that finally I came across ProWorkflow because it is powerful and bug-free. What makes ProWorkflow stand out of the mass is its flexibility. The look of the system can also easily be changed without any problems. ProWorkflow has kept their pricing system simple: users pay for file space and staff logins. What also impressed me was the interface of this software, it seems that they have thoroughly studied what users use frequently because it is available on first sight, whereas less-often used features are some clicks away.

Review for Zoho Projects
Robust and complete project management solution
by Michelle on 2011-09-19 09:59:44
Like many online software tools – project software has become more social than ever. It’s not enough these days to simply know what the “to do” list is and your deadlines. Today online project management software includes a way to interact with your colleagues in real time via the software dashboards. Zoho Projects is seemingly simple from the outset and is made up of four modules and held together with a colorful and interactive dashboard that provides an overview of your “project” stream.” The project stream allows you to view all of your projects and milestones and get a sense of where your team is at in terms of progress
