Be prepared for poor service and long waits for payment

We were with Acteva for a long time. At the beginning it was great but over the years the customer service and timeliness of payments suffered considerably. It was almost impossible to get a live person on the phone and when we did speak with somebody the questions were deflected. At one point the accountant at Acteva went so far are to blame our organization because Acteva was not timely in the payment of funds. In our last transaction with Acteva it took over 5 weeks to get payments that were as much as 2 months late at that time. Had we not had a cash reserve we would not have been able to pay our bills.

Pros: Nothing anymore.
Cons: Lack of communication from their staff. Lack of timely payment. Lack of honesty.

Terrible in sending payments. Acteva hurt my business as a event planner. I lost a client due to lack of timely payments.

Pros: Good Software if you are computer savvy and have time to invest.
Cons: BAD SERVICE once you are sold.

Acteva used to be a good company. They have degenerated into a slow paying, almost non existing customer service organization. Although our contract states twice monthly payments, Acteva is now six plus weeks out with payments. They also pre-date checks, do not include dates on their Pitney Bowes postmarks, and play the run around game with payment inquiries. After we collect our money (hopefully), we will not do business with them again - ever.

Very nice product, if they could fix their problem with holding funds beyound their contracted date.

Pros: Easy to set up and use.
Cons: Limited options Limited sign up features Multi registration on a single cc is limited Sloooowwwww payment of funds, so you will need to prefund projects or you will be a cash crissis

Pros: System is fairly easy to use and offers many choices
Cons: Was not made aware of problems that you can encounter if allow conference attendees to use a check payment option. It has been a bit of a headache. Company does not send payments to our organization as scheduled. BBB complaint remains unresolved.
Best Uses: I represent a nonprofit educational organization using this system for a state-wide conference of approximately 600 or so attendees.
Review Context: I am the conference chair for the annual CCAC Conference and a student affairs manager.
