Sironta is a new application that will let you create private environments in which you can collaborate and work with colleagues, team mates and friends. These workspaces make for the unhindered exchange of both notes and files, and for instant communication among all concerned parties. People who use Sironta connect on a peer-to-peer basis, and documents don’t need to be transformed to be used - they retain their own extensions at all times. As an application, Sironta is available to Windows, Mac and Linux users. It is not web-based; you have to download the app and install it. This has the advantage of letting you run everything locally, and I know some who are actually partial to that, owing either to reliability or security reasons. That is, there are no network congestion issues to worry about, and nobody is at the mercy of errors on the server itself.

Pros: It is Peer-to-Peer, it has OpenOffice.org integrated and it's free to use.
Cons: Nothing.
Best Uses: I use it to work with my partners and collaborate and share information.

I discovered Sironta a few weeks ago and started using with our team of engineers distributed across various location. Works great ! we are discovering new usage and functions everyday !

Pros: Flexibility, Multi platform, cost
Cons: A bit complex to start with and to fully leverage the potential of the tool
