The system is fantastic. It was simple to set up the few employees and proceses their payroll. I did not have to write or print cheques as the pay was automatically deposited in employees account. The best feature was the remitttance to revenue Canada as I now save penalty fees.

Pros: Easy to use. Do not need to keep records. No headache of remittance. I access payroll from anywhere.
Cons: We get the same pay every 2 weeks . .I wish there was one click command to process payroll instead of entering time for employees
Review Context: we are a small business. payroll is always difficult to do as I have to keep up to date with changes to deductions. It is also not easy to have the accountants do this work and gets expensive too both in time and $$.

Ideal for complex accounting tasks

QuickBooks is one of the easiest accounting tools that I have ever used. Neither the usage nor the reporting creates any difficulties. The invoices are highly customizable and you can contact customers with overdue invoices directly via Gmail or Hotmail. The reports that you can create with QuickBooks are very detailed and as well customizable. Of course, you can export the reports to Excel. QuickBooks Online Banking module is quite complex but managable.

Best used by companies with more than 200 employees

For HR and compensation teams of companies with 200 or more employees, CXL offers a lot of perks. The one I found most appealing was the personal service that comes with the software solution. For example, Davis says that when a company signs on, an HRC/CXL team member is assigned to them and will handle all of their needs. A company does not have to deal with multiple people – as might be the case with bigger compensation solution providers. Pros: I was impressed with the fact that CXL will comport to the processes of the company rather than the other way around.
Cons: not for companies with less than 200 employees

QCommission handles our commission needs very well. It has streamlined the commission calculation within our company. Sales people are very happy with the detailed statements they receive. The implementation team members are very knowledgeable and are ready to help whenever we need them. We would certainly recommend QCommission to any company that pays out commission based on job profitability.

Pros: QCommission has an amazing array of functionality which makes the commission calculation very easy. It handles our job profitability based commission calculation accurately. The reporting is detailed and now the sales people get accurate reports.
Cons: Haven't found anything yet.
Best Uses: Calculate job profitability in an accurate manner. Detailed reporting and ability to consider additional cost that is not directly captured within QuickBooks.

Pros: Easy to use, and deploy - within 15 mins everything is done. Provides security and portability of data *****No contract*****
Cons: Had one problem, called service and it was user error in way I set it up.
Best Uses: Both online and telephone punch in from client locations.
Review Context: I am small business owner that deploys contractors to clients locations all over california.

Our firm needed to track time to tally costs against different internal projects. ClickTime was quick to implement and the training burden was very low.

Pros: - Easy user-interface - Good reporting - Really responsive customer support - Cool features (more than we need) - Smartphone interface - Inexpensive
Cons: - Looks a little dated - Takes a while to figure out all the customization

It has a fairly simple and easy-to-use layout

Even though, it does multiple things at the same time, ShiftPlanning has a fairly simple and easy-to-use layout. The interface follows a two-panel format screen (with an exception for the front page, which has an extra panel to display customized shifts). The layout has been segregated into five main tabs: Time clock, schedule, staff reports and admin. You can complete the task directly on the screen itself or iterate onto another screen. The Schedule tab is the crux of your operations. There are four buttons – Published, Available, Trades, and Vacation – that enable you to segregate your published schedules. Pros: ShiftPlanning is a great product for organizations that need to scale quickly but do not have the time, resources or capital to invest in a full-fledged solution.
Cons: If you are looking for a rich feature set such as dynamic allocations or customizations exclusively for your organization, you might be disappointed.

Pros: It does everything we need it to
Cons: It takes a little investment time to begin with to become familiar with it and get it set up, but to be honest no decent piece of business software or equipment is without the need to spend some time in the early days so I don't begrudge this.
Best Uses: Give it to the head of HR, it will hugly up efficiency.
