It helped me connect with my photo skills much easier, and enjoy much more my editing
It's powerful as photoshop but much more simpler
It needs a lot of RAM and it's a complex tool for small things

I've been using lighroom as my main raw processing program for nearly five years now and it has become the lynchpin of my post-processing workflow. Not only these recent versions offer some incredible tools to do pretty much everything you need with editing an image, it also provides a direct link to Photoshop whenever you need to handle a file directly there.
What's not to like. Adobe Lightroom is the number of essential software for any photographer. You can process your raw files here with Lightroom's highly intuitive, easy to understand user interface and get a near finished processed photograph. You'll only need a fraction of the time you might be spending otherwise with its big sibling, photoshop.
There's literally nothing I don't like about lightroom. It's not too complex not is it too simple.
