We have been using Sage 100 for over 8 years and while we have a few complaints in general this is a great accounting solution for small or large construction firms.

It's fairly customizable, so we are getting exactly what we need from the program. Sage is a great company to work with and they are good at including us at every step.
There are a few more hidden costs than I was anticipating, but they are justified and needed. I just wish some are a little more upfront and included into the total contract cost.

The learning curve is somewhat steep but there are so many options/features that once you learn everything, it's nice to have everything you need in one program.

It is a good product, but it can be a little cumbersome for quick conceptual estimates due to its level of detail.
Extremely Detailed.
Can be to detailed.

I have used this product for many years throughout my career and have found this product more than adequate and always on the cutting edge of technology. It exceeds all of our expectations and can be customized easily by myself and/or other users inside our company.
In all honesty, I don't have any negative comments about this platform.

I like the ability to start small and add more users. We also like the ability to pick which modules are best for us.
I would like the product to be web/cloud-based. If we could get a web/cloud-based solution, it would help help a lot. We would no longer have to maintain software or back it up. I would also like to access software from a Mac.

I like the immediate support given when needed. The vendor is eager to keep me happy as a customer, and I love that. I am still learning everyday on how to use Sage. Sage offers so much, and it takes time to learn everything about the product.
If I don't necessarily like a particular part, I just maybe have not learned how to do it yet.

I like the ability to set each module up so it posts automatically to the General Ledger.
Accounts Receivable and Contracts modules do not allow you to change items or values once the contract has been accepted, and until the Contract is accepted, nothing will post to that job in Job Cost - not Payroll, Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable.

The ability to copy information from one screen to another.
The reporting. It seems like most of the reports we need have to be custom built which slows down our work flow process.

There's not a lot we like right now. We find the more we want to do with the program, the less it is capable of doing. I'm rather upset that I would need additional software to get simple reports that I need to see.
What I like least is a long list and too much to type. Making changes is a problem in employees. The AR report is a joke!

Sage (formally known as Timberline) is great for the accounting side of the business but as it relates to using it for project management it lacks the ease of use and easy access. Mobile tools are necessary and this tool is not quite there yet. If you are using it for Accounting then PROCORE is a great tool to integrate with Sage financial side and use PROCORE for the project management tools.

The software makes accounting for the construction industry very easy. We converted from QuickBooks, and there is a world of difference in what Sage 100 allows you to do vs QuickBooks.
The report writer is not especially easy to use. It could be more user-friendly to those who don't have much of a computer programing background.

I like being able to do accounting data entry for all of our companies using one screen. Unlike QuickBooks, I don't need to close down the application for each company.
AP and Billing modules don't link. I create internal billing for our sister companies using Quick Bill and then have to manually enter into AP for each company.

Pros: Our Accounting, Construction and Development companies update their information in real time, allowing all departments to be on the same page. Cons: Many new users struggle to learn the system at first, training is required. When there is an issue, customer support is limited in how much they can help you. Customer support is difficult to get a hold of sometimes, as well.

I like that the modules all seamlessly integrate and work with each other. Adding Aatrix has helped with the tax preparation in payroll.
Sometimes, support is spotty. For example, when there is an Aatrix problem, Sage may tell you to call Aatrix, but when you call Aatrix, they tell you to call Sage. That doesn't help.

I was told that this program would print AIA forms and all certified payroll forms. After installing and working on for a year to set up It didn't print the AIA form correctly and you also had to but the blank forms. The certified payrolls were not for different state, city & county agents. After speaking to SAGE support and where I purchased it they both told me to call my rep who helped me set it up. So, in other words, they wanted me to pay someone to fix the issues! I have requested a FULL refund and still have not heard anything! VERY unhappy with SAGE.
