Litmos is a web-based, user-friendly learning management system (LMS) offering online training, monthly membership fees with no setup fees or long-term contract requirements, and exceptional customer support. When you choose Litmos for your learning management system, you benefit from the cloud-based program that can be accessed from anywhere, from a SCORM certified company, and the ability to view and excess your course results in real-time.
As someone who has utilized various LMS during my years attending school including during the pursuit of my Masters Degree at the University of Alabama as a teaching assistant, and a business coach, I was excited to do this review.
Litmos is a company that was founded in 2007 with a goal in mind to build the world's best learning management system (LMS). They realized there weren't any successful web-based LMS around and set out to create Litmos. They made sure to create a program that was easy to set up and easy to manage, along with being user friendly and web based so that it was easy to access from any remote location. The people behind Litmos know that customer support is important, so they provide outstanding customer service which has paved the way to thousands of satisfied customers. They are continuing to improve upon the online training system so that Litmos is the top LMS product around.
It is easy to access and utilize the course building tools with Litmos. You are able to build your online training courses with a variety of multimedia functions and files including audio, video, and Flash-based graphics. PowerPoint presentations can also be uploaded to Litmos, along with any content created by a SCORM authoring tool such as Articulate, Camtasia, and Captivate. With Litmos, you are able to create your own LMS which includes assessments to find out how much your students have learned, as well as a survey editor for feedback. Litmos LMS is great for a variety of training programs including compliance training, healthcare training, franchise training, hi-tech training, and SaaS training. Even if you just wanted to start your own online business offering training or "how to" do something, you can use Litmos to do it using their easy to add shopping cart to sell your courses.
Why only use company-produced online courses, now you can use Litmos to create and distribute your own custom courses. Your students are getting their online training according to your specifications. The tools and features offered by Litmos allow for online courses that are professional looking and will allow a complete assessment of what has been learned. Since you're the training administrator, you will also be able to access reporting in real-time following their assessments, with the scores recorded.
From the moment you log in, you will find out how easy it is to use Litmos. They provide a simple, streamlined interface that doesn't require technical assistance to get started. When you log in, you will be directed to your Dashboard. From here you can access everything you need including courses, people, teams, reports, message, and account information. You can also view the recent activity from the dashboard, including students who have logged in and recently added people, teams, or courses.
If you would like to view, edit or add courses, click on the Courses tab. This brings you to a page showing any recently added courses and their active status. There is a search bar where you can search for courses by their course code or title. You will also be able to view the most recently viewed courses.
To add a course, click the Create a New Course button. From here, you can add the title and description. There are also optional settings such as whether or not a class is active, or reference codes, and if the course should be added to your course library. You can change the module order, time frame, and choose whether or not it should be opened in a new window, and more.
To view reports, click on the Reports tab from the dashboard. The reports page lets you view your favorite reports and view quick reports. Under the Quick Reports section, you will see courses, assessments, surveys, users, and teams.
There are many advantages to choosing Litmos for your learning management system. You get a wide variety of tools and features making it a beneficial program, including creating online courses, custom branding, selling your courses, tracking, analyzing and reporting, a web-based program, notifications and feedback, the ability to easily manage teams and people, and create groups and teams with a click of a button.
For some businesses, the main disadvantage. will be the price. While there is a Starter membership, it includes minimal features. For all of the features offered, it can get pricey. As a single business coach I'm going to wait for a full featured less expensive option. But for a bigger business, the price, considering all the features is right.
Litmos offers a wide variety of memberships packages so that it can be affordable for most businesses, considering the options. If you plan to charge for your courses, you may actually be able to make a lot of money that will pay for your membership fees. You will start with a 14-day free trial that gives you instant access so that you can try it out before you decide which membership you would like. There are six membership plans in all, each one varying in benefits they offer, with different monthly fees. You can choose from the Starter, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Enterprise. The higher the membership, the more benefits and features you get. For example, the Starter membership includes minimal feature and is the least expensive while the Enterprise membership is the most expensive and includes unlimited features.
Litmos is among best LMS programs I've reviewed. For anyone looking to create online courses with assessments and feedback abilities that match the level of those I used in a large University, then Litmos is for you. It is easy to set up and use, and teams will be able to access it quickly and easily as well. With a free trial, you can try everything out for yourself before committing to a membership.
