Project management platforms should be reliable and robust, offering all the tools that teams need to get work done in a fast-paced business environment. Twproject is a web-based solution that does just that, providing clients with the features they need to efficiently manage projects in any field.
In this Twproject review, I will share details of my experience using the Twproject platform and offer my recommendation as to whether Twproject is a tool that serves the needs of businesses and organizations of all sizes. In addition to using Twproject's project management features, I will try out the platform's tools for creating integrated timesheets, tracking issues, sharing projects, and populating team agendas.
Twproject is a web-based project management tool that seamlessly integrates into any company's existing workflows. More than just a basic application for tracking the status of internal tasks, Twproject offers a functionally complete work management system that businesses and other organizations can use to manage external issues, track the time spent on individual projects, and share important documents without the hassles typically associated with uploading and sending files as email attachments.
Twproject is "biocompatible with the IT environment" which means companies have the option to run the platform as a hosted solution or as an integrated part of their existing IT services. The system is built in Java and runs on any server, making it possible for companies to main control of their data while still accessing important files and status updates from mobile devices (with no app required). Groups that prefer a more hands-off approach can also purchase Twproject's hosted solution for a low monthly price.
Although Twproject offers a number of useful features for businesses, its project management component is clearly the centerpiece of the platform. Projects are structured as "task trees," Gantt charts, or business processes, and individual employees can be assigned roles (like project manager or worker), as well as tasks. Each team member can define his or her personal dashboard, send messages to colleagues, and review shared agendas.
In addition to Twproject's project management portal, the platform also offers a number of other useful business features. Users can log the time they've spent working on individual activities and funnel those work logs into integrated time sheets. They can also use the platform to track help desk issues and share many different types of documents. With Twproject, projects and files can be connected with subversion repositories, Amazon S3 buckets, and Dropbox folders.
Twproject is an all-in-one solution that provides business users with an array of features designed to add efficiency to typical work processes. Flexibility is one of the keys to Twproject's success. A single project can be seen in multiple ways depending on the user' focus. One team member may customize his project management dashboard to show up as a series of to-do lists, while another sets it up as a workflow.
Another important benefit in using Twproject has to do with integrations. The platform connects with countless popular business tools, including Gmail, Outlook, and Excel. Users can even import the appointments they've scheduled through Google Calendar into the Twproject system.
Smart features like cross linking from any text, query by example, multiple currency and language options, and reusable filters help twproject stand apart from competing project management systems. Because the platform is built on HTML5, users can access their project details, calendars, and files from their mobile devices without downloading any additional app.
Get started with Twproject by creating your first project. Once you've completed this step, you'll be able to create resources (also known as team members), assign those resources to the project, and add individual tasks.
Upload a document to go along with your project (like a specification sheet or an Excel spreadsheet with data provided by the client). The individual files you upload can be tagged, coded, and labeled. You can also add a brief description, to ensure any resources you've assigned will know what they're supposed to do with the documents you've included.
Keep a log of all the time you've spent working on a project using Twproject's timesheets. You can filter timesheets by resource or operator load. The time you log using Twproject's timesheets feature is always linked to specific tasks, making it easy for superiors to validate and verify their employees' logs before submitting invoices to clients.
Track issues relative to the project or task you're currently working on. Twproject's issue manager has been built in Kanban-board style, allowing you to drag and drop various issues into groups based on relative importance. Attach screenshots or documents to specific issues, and turn particularly complex issues to tasks with just one click.
Getting started with an all-in-one business application can sometimes be overwhelming, however Twproject has worked to cut down on the confusion by posting a series of user guides, overviews, and installation videos to download. Twproject instructors also host interactive webinars and bootcamps, in which specific "challenges" are given as a way to encourage users to learn more about the platform. The answers to more specific questions can be found in Twproject's user community, where individual questions are tagged and answered by other users and Twproject's developers.
Twproject offers a number of pricing options, starting with individual on-expiring licenses that cost 90 Euros per user for installed versions. Businesses that are interested in buying yearly licenses to install Twproject on their own servers can expect to pay 45 Euros per year.
Prices for Twproject's hosted solution start at 594 Euros for six months. Non-profit organizations and bloggers can also request Twproject licenses for free.
Twproject is an excellent solution for large organizations looking to speed up existing workflows. The platform is designed to allow for a progressive integration, allowing users to start using more advanced features as they gain experience and feel more comfortable with the program. Interactive webinars and bootcamp sessions - along with online videos and tutorials - also go a long way in helping improve the overall user experience.
