BIME is very easy to use for digital marketing people. It has tons of connections. Since it's very easy to use, you don't spend too much time to implement.
Coomunity support is still a bit weak. Also it's not flexible as Tableau. It's more digital marketers tool than BI tool.

I have used Bime for the last few months at my agency. We use it for client reporting, internal reporting, real-time monitoring and insights, and a whole wealth of other stuff. I've used Tableau extensively before, and I have to say that Bime is superior in just about every way. I foresee Bime being a real disruptor in the BI space. The tool is very flexible and capable. Building data connections only...
-Very easy to use and teach non-technical people. -Extremely flexible and capable platform -Excellent customer service -Very scalable pricing plans
-Documentation hasn't caught up to improvements/features with the tool

gave me the opportunity to explore a new complex BI system
excellent user interface (especially from mobile), has a very active user and developer community that answered in a short time. It's comparatively low cost solution and provides a complete set of tools
developers necessary must have strong technical skills to build the initial structure. Once you publish a document there is no way to recover previous versions(no pulling back actions)

Overall it's fun using tableau, lot's of feature to explore and bring value from data
I am using tableau from very long, specifically tableau desktop, Its highly pluggable means, you can easily connect with many different data sources, hive ,impala ,presto , cloudera hadoop and many other's. Sometimes, it works very slow, that is one complain and it is very costly, but I am willing to pay because of features.
It is very costly but analytics are very easy with tableau thus I am willing to pay and I use it every day

Its philosophy "see and explore" changed the way we use large amount of data in our proccess of decisions.
Tableau definitely helped our company developing a proccess to use relevant data in the important decisions. It has a flat learnig curve that make it easy from business people with little/no previous experience with complex data analysis use it and produce some useful insights, from day 1. Another point to mention is the ease of implementation, it can be purchased as a subscription( or a lifetime license) at a first moment and then hosted on cloud or at the local server.
One of the few points it worth mentioning as con: the cost. It offers way more features and resources than its main competitor but its price is up to 6x higher, which make it not so attractive to small or medium-sized companies

Really helps us to explore data (dimple and complex) and have it ready to go on dashboards and presentations quickly.
I think it is the fastest tool to pick up out there. It has almost unlimited capability without a monstrous learning curve. Yes, to do the harder things, that takes time, but one can be productive quickly.
I think the pricing is a but high compared to other tools. Tableau prep is a great addition but runs slowly.

Overall, Tableau can provide some impressive data points and analytics. To understand and make the most out of all the features, you'll want to explore the website and watch tutorial videos.
I used Tableau to better understand our target market and provide statistics to potential clients. It gave some solid numbers and data that helped in my day to day in sales.
There were so many different data points and features, it was a bit confusing to pull the numbers I was looking for. If no one has used Tableau before, there may be a pretty steep learning curve.

My experience was great, I wish I had access to it even before!
I love the simplicity of this software. With it, I can easily create visualization and explore my DWH with no effort! The aggregation functions are great and take away a lot of complexity from my work.
Sometimes I need to customize the visualization I make in order to adapt them to my needs, but this is not always possible or it's not trivial at least.

At my team we use Tableau as a data exploration tool for data practitioners, and not for dashboards and data reporting to the company. This setup takes advantage of what Tableau does best and don't use it for what it doesn't. Tableau as a data reporting and dashboard tool may be suited for more traditional organizations, with a lot of experienced BI personnel who can take the time to build good dashboards with it.
Tableau allows for very good exploratory data analysis, and one can build amazing visualizations with it. Once you learn how to work with it, it becomes very easy to explore data and get insights from it.
Tableau is very expensive compared to its competitors, and if you want to get the whole company using it for dashboards, the pricing is certainly prohibitive for startups. I also don't Tableau for Dashboards, as the discovery and navigation interface is not very inviting to business users and dashboards are hard do discover. At the same time, building dashboards on Tableau is a lot less straightforward than in other tools. One can build very advanced dashboards, but that requires a lot of time and expertise, which not all Data users in a company will be.

Overall, Tableau is a great tool to understand client needs and explore white space where there could be additional opportunity. It allows me to stay informed and gives me credibility when talking to the client.
Tableau makes it easy for me to understand how my clients are using our platforms. It also makes it easy to download full usage reports when I need to deliver to clients. Its integration was seamless, and the usage reports even populate inside our CRM now.
Tableau's user experience could be improved upon. It's not always intuitive to find the information you're looking for. There are lots of functions you would never know about unless you just happened to be clicking around. Better UX design could really improve the way this data is taken in and digested.

Tableau does a great job with simple data visualization. Though there are other competitors, they do not offer anything unique that Tableau cannot do. Real time visualization, locations, and more are all available through Tableau.
Tableau is initially intuitive, and anyone can learn to use its basic functions very quickly. There is also a layer of depth that you can explore for hundreds of hours, truly becoming an expert in showing what is really happening in the data.
After understanding the basic features, learning some of the more complex features can be really daunting. Though Tableau has some free basic trainings, I would love to see more content availability and learning tools.

For most business analysis is is sufficient. A lot will depend on whether the person writing queries is more familiar with Tableau vs other solutions
It is set up to easily create tables with filters and charts with minimal SQL, versus a solution like periscope
Is is less flexible that a less built out solution such as Periscope where you have to build more from scratch, but aslo have more flexibility. Requires explore license to download full data vs viewer license

inventory analysis and predictive analysis with regression
the drag and drop feature creating dashboards is easy but the actions get confusing when you have many filters and pages on one dashboard and it would be nice to copy and paste buttons and have them be in the same spot on new dashboards or be able to align them
Customer support - how difficult it is to reset filters on dashboards this should be built in the point of a dashboard is to explore different scenarios how did they miss the fact that you need to reset to status quo

Tableau is a very easy to use software program. It works quite intuitive when you open the program. It's easy to connect to many data sources. After the connection it just takes a few clicks to create simple dashboards. But there are so much more options! Much to explore within this product.
If you need to do many additional calculations to your data set, sometimes Tableau gets slow. It takes some time to do these calculations and that mkes dashboards much slower.

Tableau works for everything from large directories of company personnel - that may change in position, address, etc. on a daily basis - to complex visuals of logistics, shipping, and agriculture. It helps tell data-rich visual stories in a way that would have taken 20 charts or slides previously.
End of the days of endless static powerpoint charts!! Thank God for Tableau's ability to connect to complex databases or Alteryx, and host live, shifting dashboards for clients. It's not perfect, but the ability for people to visually explore data through dynamic features is such a game changer for people who rely on metrics on a day to day basis. All strategy consultants everywhere, hail Tableau for revolutionizing management dashboards.
Tableau can be tricky to learn, and the ways to make modifications on chart type, colors, etc. can be unintuitive. You also need clean, usable data to make it work well.

Best tool for Visualization
Easy to understand, use and implement. Single step connectivity to any of the files or Data sources. Get the data from anywhere and create the visualizations in a quick way. Lot many options to explore and you feel wow when you see amazing visualizations being created. Analytics is something that makes Tableau to be different from its competitors. So body can even get to the height of Tableau in the near future.
Cost is little on the higher side. If you want to utilize the few features of Tableau then you will have to shell out heavy as a single user licence. Otherwise the best one to use

Data Analysis, data exploration and management, professional plots, dashboards, reports
Tableau is one of those tools that you probably know or have heard about it if you are into the world of Data Science, Data Analytics, or Business Intelligence. If you haven't learned it yet, I really recommend it. This platform allows you to analyze your datasets, explore them, and manage them easily. It also aids you in keeping track of the flow of the data, since the phase of data preparation to publishing your findings and insights. The desktop version is possibly the best, but there's also the choice of the online version.
I would like to have a cheaper version, maybe lighter or with less functionality, but more accessible to the data professionals who can't afford the actual prices or cannot gather a group.

Tableau is a remarkable flexible product that lets you explore, analyze, visualise... to discover patterns in any type of data. While some consider their pricing to be expensive given the glut of "competing" BI platforms on the market, Tableau is consistently a leader in the space and ideal for companies who aspire to make their culture more data-driven. They get high merits for scalability (from desktop licenses to hosted solutions), accessibility (you can access your data just about anywhere) and portability (easy to share data amongst teams, connect data from just about any source). All around great choice if it fits your budget.

Truth be told, our company was only given a trial period for Tableau so I did not have an opportunity to fully explore the software as much as I would have liked. However, during the duration of the trial, I was able to quickly build some useful analytics. An example was an interactive map of the United States which allowed me to show location based data along with sales information for the line of...
Tableau makes creating visually stunning dashboards and info-graphics relatively easy. You start by connecting to a data source (SQL database, Excel flat file, etc.) and then using various tools to present your information and analytics in a graphical way that's easy for your audience to understand. It supports a great deal of data input formats and offers a lot of flexibility in how to analyze and display information. Plus, the visualizations you create can be static for delivery via a rendered format like PDF or PowerPoint or published on the web for an interactive experience. You can present information at a high level and let your report audience drill into to the details.
There is a bit of a learning curve. I am a fairly good self-learner and when I first start using new software. I like to tinker and experiment before diving into documentation and manuals. Tableau is not difficult by any means, but some of the tasks you want to accomplish are not going to be obvious in terms of how they function. For example, I struggled at first with figuring out how to add subtotals to some data I had brought in. Of course I was able to readily do so once I researched via help files but that's the sort of thing I would have thought to be more intuitive and easy to figure out on my own first.
