My go-to analytics tool

04/05/2017

I always recommend the use of Google Analytics to my clients - it's an enterprise level piece of software with no cost attached. They've worked hard to include inline help and advice and now have their own academy

Pros

Detailed website visitation reporting available for free.

Cons

You can't apply segments to conversion funnels.

We use google analytics for every customer

04/05/2017

Pros

It's fairly easy to see, understand, and track results. The graphing is really nice. The biggest thing about it is everything is all in one place and under one email! On that note...if you have multiple clients under your own email and they decide to switch providers...or you are getting a client in and they were using analytics from another agency...it's easy to continue if you don't mind the hassle of getting those logins. For all the basic customers needs, this meets them 100%.

Cons

Things are a little spread out and start to look and feel redundant. Also, in comparison to other companies that let you important analytics and then create your own custom report, Google Analytics has very little report customization. Some clients I pull five things (out of their request they want the most basic report updates) and then some want 20 things and a written paragraph with explanations. It would be great to have that available. There are a few insights that other companies provide that on a customer front don't mean much, but more so for an agency side you have to do a little extra work. It's not that analytics doesn't have those features, they are just a little more tedious to work around.

My eyes have been opened...

03/05/2017

Google Analytics provides a gigantic wealth and depth of knowledge regarding my website traffic. It's easy to use once you've figured out how to setup your views/dashboard and really this product provides so much insight studying analytics can easily become a backhole of time...

Pros

Can't beat the price point (FREE) for the standard product. Easy to integrate and a lot of articles sharing how to get the most out of the data.

Cons

Setting up views can be challenging for the novice user. A quick work around is finding templates.

Basic analytics suite for all the businesses

01/02/2017

Google Analytics is basic and it should be the first analytical asset in your portfolio. If you would like to see only summary statistics and numbers, Google Analytics is exactly what you need. You are able to see numbers of sessions, visits, views of site and sources from which your website traffic came. Moreover, you are able to setup event tracking and see for example, how your button performs, or how people are downloading your PDF document.

Pros

It has many functions and features - my favorite is Enhanced E-commerce. Thanks to this feature, you are able to measure how well your e-shop perform - what are people buying, how many conversion/transactions day did and what are your revenues. It's very useful for every e-shop. Than possibility of event tracking and goals, the set-up is a big plus. Another pro is, that Google Analytics is commonly used - so you will find many guidebooks and how-to manuals. And in the end - it's free.

Cons

The limitation of Google Analytics comes to the discussions when you would like to measure more user-focused interactions. I mean, if you would like to see, what particular user is doing on the website, which button did the user click on. Yes, they have in Google Analytics user-id feature. But it has also limitation - you are not able to assign user activities before he was logged-in to his/her account.

Low cost solution that meets a lot of business needs

29/09/2016

Most of our apps use google analytics, even when we have an enterprise solution such as unica in place. Gives our customer base access to create whatever reports they need and feel that it is very reliable. Sometimes with the way things were required to be tagged in other systems, the business was not able to obtain the info they were looking for. This has always been very reliable

Pros

Easy to implement, reliable, meets lots of business needs

Cons

Seemed that it was not intuitive to figure out how to build the report to get what you were looking for, but I'm sure there is plenty of doc available to figure out how to get what you need

Deep insights and complete analytics

30/08/2016

Google analytics is the best way to monitor your website and track the progress. It is a complete package with all that you need to know about your traffic and users. Hands down the best tool out there.

Pros

Feature rich and has a lot of data to be analysed.

Cons

It's not very user friendly, but it's more about the amount of data that it displays, so can't really blame.
