It's an "ok" solution, but clearly not the best

Get it for better eCommerce experience

We were hoping we could use Magento BI to automate our eCommerce BI reporting that the team was doing manually.  Magento BI was unable to provide any value out of box and required significant upsells and support hours to unlock the most  basic functionality.  Even then, any new features required paying for service hours as tool is unusable.

                                                       We switched to Magento from a homegrown system. And the primary reason we did this, was for more plugins, more tools that worked well with Magento, as opposed to our homegrown system which was very tedious to manage.
                                                       The primary reason we chose to go with Magento was pricing. A lot of these systems that we looked at were either too expensive, or they were lower-tier platforms. And Magento just fit well with our needs.
                                                       Getting started with Magento took a little work as with any eCommerce solution. There was some initial setup with the FBSs database, which really drives our product selection. But once that was complete, it was pretty straightforward. The one thing I would say is that Magento desire a great support for SEO, and that was one pain point that we are still working on.
                                                       For any organization looking at Magento, I'd recommend that they look at alternative platforms. There are many different platforms as far as eCommerce goes and different platforms tailored to different types of eCommerce solutions. I know several companies have differentiated products that are more suited towards one platform than others. And this would definitely be something I'd recommend to any organization.
