For the Company? Great positioning to become more productive and successful. How, what did that mean? We found ourselves in true proactive mode rather than the constant reactive mode we had always resided in. Personally, my own career flourished and for the first time in my career, I jumped onto a successful tool at the ground floor.
The ease of learning and shortening that learning curve saved time and money.
Compared to shortcomings of the product we were using, hard to really answer this question without more time to have to find something. Maybe, you offer too many change options too quickly and it is hard to choose which direction to go in first. Like with exporting data to various sources and formats. But that is problem we would have always wanted.

It has been an overall negative experience seeing as it is largely inferior and poorly designed to many of its competitors. It is only good for saving some money.
I like that I am able to publish reports for free for other users in my organization to see.
I dislike the incredibly limited functionality. This is even more true for direct query mode.

I would recommend Power BI because it moves away from the traditional visualization of data and the interface with Excel is smooth.
I like that Power BI can make wonderful visuals from my data, it can go beyond normal bar and pie charts. Enjoy that it there is no complications with the data from Excel.
I would prefer if there was a suggestion mode of how to visualize the data, at time I am not very sure how to best present it. It is not very intuitive to navigate around to get to the results you want.

It is advisable to invest first some time in taking some basic online Power BI video courses before attempting developing first reports. Then, it is advisable to carefully review some available Power BI sample reports in order to explore applied key software features. This precious learning investment will get effective and impressive results.
The extremely powerful and user-friendly Business Intelligence tools. The frequent software updates. The availability of very useful video tutorials offered free by Microsoft. The pleasure of being able to quickly and effectively developing powerful and visually appealing business intelligence reports. The great familiarity with Excel interface and data manipulation features.
The extremely reach amount of available Power B.I reporting features and the ongoing software updates may intimidate a beginner user. The lack of a beginner user mode enabling a simplified and streamlined software view and usage. The lack of wizards the could facilitate and expedite Business Intelligence reports.

SQL queries, database lookup, results graphing, BI.
Mode makes it easy to add data from a wide variety of sources, run live queries on that data, and produce detailed graphs and sheets with your results. Its free plan is comprehensive and great for public data collections.
Mode can be limited in its visualizations and sources. If you're looking for more comprehensive BI toolsets, you may want to consider more expensive options. The cons at this price point are essentially zero though.

We needed a centralized query tool, as well as a tool that provides BI capabilities. Mode provides both.
Security First - It's clear to us that security a primary consideration for all features they roll out High Customizability - we are able to skin our reports as we'd like Great Integrations - we post reports to Slack, via API, etc. Usability - it's extremely easy to use
White-Label Feature doesn't seem to be a priority, as it doesn't get frequent updates

Great company. I have had several in-person and phone interactions. Seem to be headed in the right direction and they are interested in talking with their customers.
Great value for the price. Clearly a tool built for analysts.
The self-service BI is not as good as tableau. However - I hear they plan to make this better.

This has allowed us to view any licence mismatches across our own portal and CRM, allowing us to solve any discrepancies before they become issues.
This BI software is very easy to use, it has allowed us to gather great insights comparing data from our CRM to our own in house Portal software.
Occasionally some of the coding can be difficult unless you have a very experienced Data Analyst to work with.

Mode platform is a nice tool to process / request Data on a daily basis. It would be a must have for Data scientists / analysts producing analysis / reports for executives / BI teams.
I really liked the way you can write & test your own SQL queries. You can also easily request different Datasets coming from different sources (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Hive, Impala, Aurora, Google BigQuery...) via the same SQL queries. Moreover, it's very simple to create charts and diagrams from the data to generate nice presentations / reports. By the way you have a nice integration with Python/R notebooks.
When your are creating / editing reports, you need to have good knowledge of SQL/Data queries. This side of the platform would be reserved to Data scientists / engineers / analysts. But once the reports are created, it's still one of the best tool in the market to communicate / take decisions with executives / managers / BI teams / clients.

I love using Mode to find hard data to support theories. It helps me make a case when I want to change or present something we need to work on in our team. I also build software tools for our team, so it is useful to have Mode data to backup cases for new changes / tweaks to our software.
I love how easy it is to create charts and diagrams from the data to make it easier to explain to others. I love the power that comes with being able to write your own SQL queries
The speed. I know it's data intensive but at the same time, it's a slog to develop in when you are waiting 30s each time the query runs
