It comes with Office 365 so no need to buy it differently alone. You can just add it on your office 365 subscription.
Free version does not allow you to do the things as compared to other BI tools available so be aware of that.

It's easy to use, better than biggest alternatives (I've tested Qlik and TableAu) and I've chosen Power BI
There need some expertise with other Microsoft Office products, and a little programming skills / SQL

The PowerBI experience is excellent, especially I appreciate the integration with Office 365, also the mobile version works very easily.
I like the flexibility to visualize data from different sources regardless of whether it is in the cloud or local servers.
I would like you to have more information about the connection to the gateways for integration with OnPremise systems.

Overall very complete and easy to use, like the very fast development of new features and the cloud environment wih dataflows etc. is very good
the fact that is part of the Office 365 suite and for Excel users very easy to use
As a Qlik Consultant i don't like the fact that data analysis and exploration is not as easy as in other BI dashboarding products

I am overall fully satisfied with the Power BI facilities I use in my day to day office environment
Power BI is a tool that enables employees to view the data and information of the work, in a more graphical and organized manner. I use this Power BI tool to have trends of the reports with the previous pattern and also to analyze the data into a more organized and statistical manner to get business decisions.
The only cons in power BI is the lack of artificial intelligence, Others are well enabled, I have no other cons with the tool

Awesome. Will continue to utilize this tool. One of my favorite Microsoft programs.
I love the ability to turn all our excel spreadsheets into something people will care about. It really helps use data to tell a story.
I don't love Microsoft. This has similar functionality issues as most of the Office Suite does. Full transparency, I am an avid Mac user.

The overall experience is good. If you are using SharePoint online or office 365 you should use Power BI.
It gives you power to connect with an external database or cloud databases. We can develop custom graphical reports based on the client requirement.
I did not found anything specific about this product. But one part is it is not free and it requires a subscription to use all the features.

Overall Power BI is very helpful tool for representing data and provide flexibility to look into critical think in same window.
It's flexible features and compactibility with other MS office tool.
It doesn't give incremental and cumulative bar/line in same chart.

Business Intelligence software that is included in our existing Microsoft Office licensing package.
Intuitive for people who have already been utilizing any variety of Microsoft's other products. They are adding features and functionality to Power BI at such a rapid pace that it won't be long before Power BI is better than all of the alternatives.
Missing a small number of features. Can run into some bugs/glitches because it is still fairly new to the BI tools market.

It's a great tool to start data analysis especially if you have Office 365 package as the software comes default in the package. So, no additional software cost.
The software has good support provided by Microsoft which makes learning quick. It has a lot of similarities with Excel especially with the DAX expressions which makes adoption easy. It also integrates with a variety of database and software's which makes data pull smooth.
PowerBI service has a sharing feature which lets you share dashboards with the team. However, the sharing is a premium feature which has a separate subscription. The app store does not have a variety of additional visualizations and you rely mostly on the default visuals.

I have created dashboards on project progress, business cases and at times, a personal dashboard of my own assets and savings just to keep track of certain things. I love that PowerBI is easy to use, and has been designed with the end user in mind. However, I would like to have a wider variety of templates to choose from, especially if I am a beginner to the whole business intelligence idea.
Having been a user of the full range of Microsoft Office, it was only natural that PowerBI comes to mind when trying to create a live update dashboard. It is extremely easy to use - a plug and play approach comes to mind - and if you had worked with Microsoft Office before, some of the features are very intuitive to use. If the organisation that you are working with uses Microsoft Office, access issues are sorted and it becomes incredibly easy to drive adoption of this dashboard on a day to day basis
The design of the dashboard created with PowerBI can be found to be lacking at points, compared to some of the other BI softwares. The templates available seem great, but there aren't as many options as I would like when I am creating a specific type of dashboard.

It is well integrated with Microsoft office suite making sharing workbooks across organization.
The interface could be more stylish. Updating product every time for a new release in a month could be time taking as it is takes you through Microsoft store to download updated version. I wish they directed us to the power Bi website for the update.

Power BI makes the Data Analysis and Visualization tasks simplier without keeping track of advanced tools, it's a great tool to anyone who needs to rely on or even produce and realease such analysis.
Despite of being very familiar to those people using MS Office, Power BI user interface might seen a bit crowded for most people.

Very simple to use, it interfaces with most office suite software, making data presentation intuitive.
It has no problems that impact the use. I would suggest a lighter version for simple computers.

Integration with existing Office products, at negligible additional cost. For users willing to invest in training to understand how to use it, there are a lot of synergies w/existing user workflows.
Hard to use. Our employees had trouble figuring out how to use it, despite it being marketed as an addon to their existing Office products.

Power BI allows us to deliver content and various reports to large groups of people at once. One of the best features that go along with this is the ability to use row level security so I can create one report, publish it for everyone, and yet they still only see the information they have permissions for. All in all Power BI makes creating reports easier and the end users get a better experience consuming the data.
The best thing about Power BI is the ability to customize it to my needs. Meaning, I can make every report look and feel the way I want. If a visual is not available as a built-in service I can go to the marketplace and search for one. If the built-in calculations won't work for what I need I can code in custom calculations.
The interface still has the look and feel of Office 2010. For software that gets updated on a monthly basis, it is surprising to me that it still looks like a product from a decade ago.

It has diverse integrated solutions for showing all the trends of a specific business or project or social matter on a single dashboard. Its interactive graphics are quite helpful for understanding the trends.
I am a quite new user and till now I only think that it needs some what higher knowledge and training than regular office user.

We needed to quickly build a dashboard to give a unified view of the progress of a large migration project with 4 views : users migrated, consumption of e-learning tools, support tickets, user satisfaction. With a little coaching by a Power BI expert, we could present a self-explanatory dashboard which perfectly fit the requirements. Simple is beautiful !
Power Bi is well integrated with the rest of the Microsoft Office suite and helps easily embark users relying on data to accomplish their daily tasks, through the self-service capabilities.
Data modeling and advanced statistical analysis require upfront investment in training, but it's worth the while.

Power BI has transformed how our company looks at data and reporting. It just keeps getting better and better.
While already a robust and competitive analytics software, Power BI is constantly coming out with new and improved features and functionality. The integrations with Excel is impressive and makes my life so much easier.
There still isn't a good integration with Microsoft's other Office programs other than Excel. Integration with Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook simply doesn't exist yet, and it should.

As mentioned, I really like the full integration with not only Microsoft Office 365 but the interface it has with other database product. I use it mostly with SharePoint to create nice looking interactive Dashboards. This provides executive management with an at a glance reporting.

The licencing model but I don't have to worry about this. This came with our Microsoft O365 E3 licences. As an administrator this was available for me to use.

Overall, a powerful and efficient tool for analyzing and displaying data. Download free trial and test it out.
The UI is very intuitive. Great for displaying/creating visual information. Loading data is simple. Compatibility with other Microsoft Office products. Power BI also has a lots of dashboard charts.
You need license for every user to use the Pro. Data is not updated very frequently. The browser version doesn't have all the features of the desktop version.

Included in the cost of Office 365, so for many, this is a great option. However, if you're wanting dedicated dashboards for display throughout your offices, you may wish to go for something more dedicated.
The ability to bring in data from multiple sources and present this in a way that is easy to view and understand.
The flexibility of the layout design leaves a bit to be desired. Full customisation and branding would be nice.

Ease of use, especially for first-time users. Dashboard is of great help for data visualization. Not expensive when combined with Office 365 suite.

The power of this software is mind-blowing! Any situation can be handled - and customer service knows how to walk you through the process without making you feel like you are a problem. We are starting this business out small but took the plunge in buying this software because of the power it gives us in reporting to our Lenders and following up with our borrowers. We are thrilled that we didn't try a lesser software with the intention of upgrading later. It's worth every penny!

This is a great user-friendly software with parallels to Microsoft Word and Excel that will save a lot of time in managing our extensive loan portfolio. I took the training at their corporate headquarters and was quite impressed with a personable staff who explained the features of the software and also WANT TO HELP! I can't wait to put into practice some nice components such as emailing of statements, mail merge of letters and reports, etc.. This software will also eliminate duplication of logs and reports in Excel, plus save a couple of trees by not having to print so much paper. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Mortgage Office!
