Overall, this software helps give my team a glimpse of the daily work load for our operations team and helps us to know when to reach out for information
We primarily use Tableau for our operations team. My team uses Tableau to help us know how much inbound our operations team has reach day. This data can help shape the way we communicate with them.
The part I like least about tableau is that it can be a bit laggy. Even though I log in different times, it still shows the last date that I selected a while back. Even though I clear it each time I log on, it still brings me back.

We use it to build views for performance stats and monitor business operations
It’s a super smart tool that allows our call center to keep track of performance stats and data. We can access tool for many things and customize it endlessly
Sometimes it can be a very slow tool due to large amounts of data being stored and loaded. Wish it would work a little quicker at times

Tableau can be customized and many dashboards can be created to keep a detailed or overall pulse on business operations.
The good and the bad is that tons of work is needed to create usable insights.

I enjoy seeing week-to-week where our practice is at with regards to many needed operations.
I like that there are reports that I need and use in Tableau. I am able to see week to week numbers on graphs and charts.
Sometimes hard to comprehend where data is coming from as one thing can be entered, but graphs may show a little different. Timing is everything when inputting data.

Overall experience with Tableaus is good and it helps the company to solve many problems and optimize operations.
A powerful data software that helps us analyze many kinds of data to increase company operation efficiencies. It has many built-in data and capabilities such as geographical overlay.
The least favorite part about Tableau software is its steep learning curve and it requires time to practice.

Main business problems for using Tableau are analyzing metrics for daily operations, specifically failure rates and tracking completion.
I like how there are many customizable filters that allow you to dig down to multiple levels when evaluating metrics. It is also very visually appealing, and the Excel exports are very useful for offline use!
Some options are checked by default in filters. Not sure if there is an easy fix for this. Also, some links tend to be broken when trying to access older versions of Tableau.

We were able to perform statistical analysis on social media data from twitter quickly with high-speed graph rendering and operations
The software has simple and easy to use controls to create a lot of analytical views. The options of graphs and charts that can be created are also large in number. Data connection for almost all types of sources is available
Few driver issues exist on OSX because of lack of native driver support. This problem, however, is solved in the licensed version and exists only in the community/academic version

Best usage on Tableau: Tracking trends, viewing employee progress and activity, and pipeline tracking
Tableau is a great platform for visualizing data, creating views, making decisions and reports. This is across the board for any business/operations use. Great for trends!
Sometimes, the integration does not pull the most recent data and updates take a long time (from the initial change) for some views and needs- specifically account information/detail - can't fully rely on Tableau's stats.

I used it first as a user viewing data in a retail environment. Reports were easy to keep updated and the data viewing choices meant different managers were able to customize the look of their data. Now I have used it creating reports for myself. I enjoy using it more than salesforce reports as I get that extra level of customization and think that it simply looks better.
The customization of your dashboards is unparalleled. The tools to get started help anyone, even those with basic or no sql skills to be able to put together basic reports. No better solution in my opinion for being a hub for KPI tracking across a company.
The learning curve is steep. Imported data needs to be clean or you are going to struggle with larger datasets but that is true of all data visualization tool.

Tableau enabled us to build an interactive analytics dashboard. The HUGE feature is the ability to filter data across multiple dimensions by clicking the charts. For example, after building a pie chart visualization, click a segment of the pie and all the data is constrained to just that segment. Other related charts will also adjust since the base data that all the charts pull from is filtered. Building these kind of interactions from scratch using web technologies like d3.js takes twice as long.
This software made it easy to connect with several disparate data sources, build charts, and communicate insights about business data.
Coming from background that is heavy in raw SQL, some operations were unintuitive. I had to lean heavily on building out views that were more palatable for Tableau to consume. While, Tableau has the ability to create computed values it required a lot of clicking around and writing code in their proprietary query language.

Insightful experience. Best for turning data into actionable and strategic insights.
Tableau helps us understand and appreciate data and what it means to the organization in improving operations and efficiency. Familiarizing ourselves with data filtering, grouping and segmenting. It is key in improving the process of data analysis by eliminating defects. It has eventually improved customer experiences, allows us to make better decisions and helps guide our marketing strategies towards success.
Sending larger files especially to multiple destinations can end up catastrophic. It can stop and you end up losing your files.

I was a wiz with excel but with the smooth operation of the Tableau system, I foresee a long and promising career as an analyst. Just can't wait for Tableau 2.0 to take me to the next level.
The ability to automate data processes is a plus but with Tableau software, I was also able to analyze, explore and collaborate with that data. This program saved me time in completing my duties and saved the company money and manhours in analyzing these processes. It has definitely closed the gap when it comes to how we use and manage raw data to provide growth insight into our company operations
Honestly, I am yet to notice anything that I do not like about Tableau.

I have used Tableau to ingest data from multiple data sources. Following this, we joined the data and calculated a number of aggregations with LoDs and measures. We developed a number of reports with multiple graphs and charts. Next, we did a statistical analysis to understand the trend and seasonality of the data. We handle data from multiple domains such as finance, healthcare and retail. On top of these, we extracted valuable insights from the data and provided a consolidated view of the ground operations to the stakeholders. A number of man-hours were saved and the efficiency of business processes was improved by avoiding manual creation of reports and automated scheduled data refresh.
Intuitive and user-friendly UI similar to a canvas for dashboards Multiple data sources Automated dashboard refresh and functionality to publish to stakeholders Administrative privilege to provide access role wise and rule wise Customised dashboards and ad hoc reporting are possible The scope of calculations and aggregations is huge Statistical and predictive analysis can be performed to uncover insights from the data
Price: Pricing could be an obstacle for small-time independent developers Better memory allocation for large datasets to optimally refresh the data

It helped me to combine multiple data sets and create easy-to-understand graphs. I used to use Access and Excel to create matrix tables and graphs, but with the sequential conversion to Tableau, I was able to obtain results in about an hour instead of a full day, which dramatically reduced our work time. The result was a dramatic improvement in efficiency. As I was able to drill down and deepen our analysis, I was able to visualize things that I had not been able to express before, and I was able to notice issues that I had missed. The data mart was built at the same time as the introduction of Tableau, and the data sources are now centrally managed, which strengthens governance. Since I can now check the results on a daily basis, which I used to be able to check only on a weekly basis, the speed of the PDCA cycle has increased, and I am now able to challenge various ideas more ambitiously. The ability to visualize data in an easy-to-understand manner has made the task of "communicating" easier.
I used to use Access and Excel to create reports on data aggregation and analysis of the current situation, which changed every day, and I had to repeat the same tasks over and over again each time. However, since I started to use Tableau, the freshness of the most important data has not deteriorated, and I can visually view the data reflecting almost real-time data. The basic operation is not difficult for beginners. The basic operations are easy to get used to, even for beginners, and it is not that difficult to get started. I can organize data that Excel can't handle and put it together in a way that is easy to understand, and I can use the UI to cross-tabulate, graph, and visualize changes in numerical values, making it very convenient to use. Another advantage is that no knowledge of SQL or other programming languages is required to handle the data. Since visualization can be done interactively, which is usually difficult when there is a considerable amount of data, it is easy to make considerations based on the data. Since it is possible to quickly change the chart (change the aggregation unit, change the axis, change the filter, etc.), it is easy to get new insights since it is stress-free to look at the data, consider the results, and change the approach again. Data visualization that involves aggregation is powerful anyway.
I would like to see a more complete set of manuals. Statistical knowledge is not necessary, but some of the expressions on the screen are difficult to interpret, and it takes time to get used to them. The visualization is not intuitive, and when you try to do something a little more elaborate, it has its own quirks, and I think it requires training to make the visualization look the way you want. As for the display format of the graph, you can easily switch the format by selecting from the palette, but it is difficult to find the menu for things like drawing auxiliary lines. Sometimes it takes a long time to load the data, so it would be very helpful if that could be improved. It doesn't depend on the size of the data or the environment of the PC, so I would really like to see this improved. It tends to be very slow due to slow loading of data and loading every time you switch tabs. It is not suitable for advanced analytical simulations such as statistical analysis or predictive modeling. It is only a visualization tool. I would like to see more options for license types and prices. The price hurdle is too high, so please make it easier to introduce.
