Pros

This has been a great management tool for our company, the integration of comms has been great and has allowed us to cut down on mails as which has been amazing.
The paid version has some excellent functionality additions like dependencies and custom labels/tags, which can be really helpful.
Overall, I love that Asana is super easy to use, but also has more advanced features when you need them.

Pros

It´s easy to understand in most features, it has an excellent support, a very good thinking and backgrond theory that is generously shared and also very good tutorials.
Cascade delivers on its promise - is very easy to use and provides fantastic functionality.
It's a great way to keep everyone aligned and accountable to achieving the business strategy but also a good way to build a culture around the vision.

Cons

The worst thing is that some resources are paid, which limits the use of the platform by people who cannot pay.
Sometimes tickets get lost or buried but I feel that this comes down to user error and workload management and is not so much a fault of ht software or design.
I find it very inconvenient that I can't copy tasks to another project on mobile. This is my only complaint about Asana.

Cons

No place to document and rank environmental factors that you need to monitor and plan for. Currently no support for ideation around how to meet objectives.
It might be better if the software can be used in different other languages since it can only be used in English, but, it is a small negativity of the software that can be greatly overlooked.
UI could be enhanced to introduce drag and drop capability.

Project management and strategy tracking.

Pros

You are able to quickly see what is going on within your business. Asana allows you to separate out projects and get very granular with assignments.

Cons

Asana is a good platform if you do not have a lot of projects happening at once. Projects can get lost in the current setup of Asana and makes finding specific tasks or action items hard to keep track of.

Pros

Asana also facilitates a number of automated procedures and integrations that can increase the productivity of your team. In Slack, you can set up deadlines and receive alerts automatically when a project component is completed. It will be easy for your team to cascade into the following project phase.

Cons

You can only give a team member one task at a time in Asana. You'll need to convey information differently if a project involves more than one worker for any given area.

Asana has been great. We use it to manage our content calendar, product development process, and strategic initiatives by SKU. The visibility into what other members of the team are working on is outstanding and it's been a help to our brand.

Pros

I am a timeline man - so seeing my little tasks and jobs organized by stage and then cascade into the next stage is satisfying and helpful. I think you can organize projects in other ways BUT WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO!? Assigning tasks and making things dependent on prior work getting completed is intuitive and absolutely streamlines our processes.

Cons

There is almost too much functionality in places. I almost didn't get started because it seems like there's too much going on and it seemed overwhelming. I'll stick to post-it notes, I thought. I'm glad I didn't - just know that you can customize as much or as little as you like!

When compared to other systems, it is simple to demonstrate and cascade the technology whether I am working in a team or independently managing projects and employees with and without project management experience. When utilizing Asana remotely or in a traditional office setting, keeping track of project progress, chokepoints, catch-up, and efficiency is simple.

Pros

It allows for workflow automation with a range of triggers and actions, such as a multi-step approval procedure for notifying colleagues through Slack about an approaching deadline. On the first day, Asana gets you where you need to be and continues to support you throughout your trip. It starts with zero entry and goes as deep as you require. We want to be able to quickly and efficiently share data with other company employees. We also like how they keep making enhancements that we didn't realise we needed.

Cons

To be honest, nothing in particular. In the free edition, it offers all you need to efficiently manage a team, including 15 member slots, which is pretty generous. So I can't really complain.

Pros

It replaces internal emails and keeps the team looped in, email just doesn't suffice when there are many moving parts. Everything you need for project management in one place. And Asana is always striving to make their product better by listening to their customers and imagining the future. I use this for organizing my personal life as well as my business life.

Cons

The product is simple to start and difficult to master. Someone new to the platform could easily be overwhelmed with the amount of capabilities. It would also be nice to be able to customize it a bit further to reflect our company, rather than feel like we have to go outside our company to communicate on projects. I have also not found any great resources on how to best organize everything so it looks clean and crisp.

Our whole email marketing strategy is on asana and asana keeps us super organized. We never have any problems with asana.

Pros

I like that i could easily see what it is for the day that I have to do and when its due, I also like that I can easily change due dates, assign to others, or mark complete when I'm finished. I also like that I could set status' on where I'm at with a project.

Cons

I don't like that I have to search through my inbox to see if more comments were made in a ticket after finishing, I wish it was it's own inbox, or an instant messaging system. I also don't like that there is a maximum size for dropping in files.

Cons

Overall my experience with Asana has helped me stay organized and on task. Allowing me to know stay focused and manage my coaching business with more ease. A great software to use when managing a business, projects, and clients.

Pros

Asana has helped me keep track of my client on-boarding, progress, and with strategy calls by having my outline and clients move from column to column as well as writing notes.

Cons

The least favorite aspect of the software was that there wasn’t a place for me to specifically write notes except in add it in as an update or question for example. Also I wish I had a client dictionary to add in client info.

Way more functions than Monday.com or other platforms. Fairly priced. Know your project management strategy/approach first then use this as a tool to facilitate. Not vice-versa.

Pros

The amount of features that this platform has is incredible. At first glance, Asana seems like the average project management system, but after using for a few months you start to learn how to use the programs nuances to increase project velocity, speed up deliverables, and create layers of ownership and accountability throughout robust projects.

Cons

It is not super intuitive at first. The key thing for any organization is going to be "how do we use this to support or facilitate our current project management strategy." It supports most project management philosophies. But because of that, there are lots of features and functions at your disposal which you may not use but dilute the intuitive nature of the program. But the key to overcoming this is having a strong project leader who knows how they want to use this; and simply train others to use only the functions which are critical to the team. Then people can learn more nuances later.

Great task management tool used daily in our team and help us stay in line with our work.

Pros

From strategy planning to daily tasks we put all in Asana and it helps us stay organize on work with clarity on who is working on what task. Great for documents storage and share in your team.

Cons

New team members need more time to get use to its advanced features, not only task list. Desktop app is slow sometime but overall great experience.

A good experience and you will be comfortable with it because you will throw on it a lot of what weighs you down because the strategy with them is very effective in how to manage the work.

Pros

What catches your attention is that it is a quick remedy for many problems that you have been suffering from in your work, permanent strategies that need you to keep up with them most likely for hours and be happy.

Cons

You feel that there is a crowd of everyone with ideas and how the strategies are overlapping and it takes you some time to keep up with everyone at once

Decent but could use some updates

Business problems I am solving: project management tool and the ability to overall manage a digital marketing strategy. Benefits that I've realized: The ability to see what projects are up next and due dates for each one.

Pros

I loved the ability to quickly manage projects within this tool - super helpful for someone who is managing multiple different ecommerce brands.

Cons

The software doesn't have some functions and features that I'd like for a project management tool such as the ability to have flexible project types and saved projects.

Good Product - Bad Strategies

Overall, it is a useful tool, but they have a really bad customer strategy in place. I have been very frustrated with their support which can barely tell you what plan you are on and what it would cost to upgrade.

Pros

This software is fairly easy to use and is really reliable. I like that you can get information pretty quickly from it if you know how to use reporting. Helpful for managing a remote workforce.

Cons

Asana has a really bad strategy of taking their paid customers, leaving them on a plan, then building a newer more expensive plan and giving all their new features to that plan. I have been a paid customer for over 4 years and essentially got abandoned by them. The plan I am on (which I have paid nicely for) gets little to no support (and support teams don't talk to each other) and has literally lost features over the last 2 years. This is really bad from a customer standpoint where you abandon us and then start removing features (despite customers asking for them).

Effectiveness in managing team tasks and projects

We love this platform to manage our projects, we try to manage with Asana in several of our projects, we do not leave everything to a single manager, that allows us to have different technologies but with the same purpose, to develop productive and efficient work. In communication and marketing this is vital and transcendental for that and more we love Asana, the team is happy to use it.

Pros

Respect the hierarchies at the time of making the assignments of tasks, you can visualize graphically the evolution of the tasks, who goes in time and who has delays in execution, is very practical when everything you need to generate your strategy and track over time

Cons

Improvements in mobile application, many of these managers have this problem and Asana does not escape it.

Asana provides easy to use work management features. Quiet useful in remote working environment to collaborate among cross functional teams. We are able to execute our strategy using Asana. We have been able to reduce number of meetings by 50% through effective use of Asana.

Cons

Goals management can be improved. Integration with ERP solutions like SAP, Peoplesoft would be good to have.

We managed to get our budgets access different departments perfectly when we used Asana, time track and subtasks management. The hotel got more return on investment like never before. Asana is the best

Pros

Asana's subtasks tool are the most important in my line of work..For example when creating a special for our hotel clients, a marketing strategy has to devices and breakdown into subsections for departments to execute their tasks. It's easy to use and can be intergrated with any tool of our choice.

Cons

Overally it's perfect, notification and progress is tracked faster.

Customers already use Asana to manage a wide range of activities, including applicant tracking, bug tracking, meeting notes, and numerous processes specialised to particular industries. Especially though we haven't yet developed dedicated features for these, some customers consider Asana to be the greatest workflow solution, even when compared to extremely specialised competitors. We believe this confirms our strategy of emphasising speed and adaptability.

Pros

Management systems - It aids in keeping track of all the projects we are working on, assigning them a priority, and ensuring that they are finished. Collaboration among teams - It is simple to work with other teams and departments.

Cons

To be able to comment on files within the app would be wonderful. I have to download, remark on, and then reupload a pdf or document that someone uploads for evaluation. If there was a method to remark directly on the document, that would be fantastic. I'd like to be able to see every task that I'm a follower of. The task does not appear in your feed if you are not the person to whom it has been assigned. It would be quite useful to have a report of the tasks you are following.

The perfect task list for projects

I used Asana as a project manager and loved it. I used it as Director of Marketing to organize our Grand Opening strategy and loved it! My only problem was that I couldn't get my entire leadership team to buy-into working on it ... which defeated the purpose a lot. I still use it on a personal level, and once I get my own team I'll be implementing it for sure.

Pros

Collaborating with team is easy - the different views of projects also really helped! You can view the project by date almost like a grant chart, or you can view it organized by phases, or you could have it as a workflow where tasks get moved based on their status. I loved that it was easy to customize the fields - adding and removing task fields. Additionally, having a section with a personal task list where you can mark things off was so helpful! It organized it by the due date and the small animations on the screen when you completed a task were a nice touch.

Cons

Nothing really. I was very pleased with all the features and how they all worked. If anything, sometimes the grant chart view with dates was a bit hard to read - however, aren't all grant charts a bit wonky and long sometimes?

Game Changer - Better than alternatives

It's been a huge upgrade for my team, and it's broken down some silos that negatively impacted the visibility of our work. Getting started was simple, but has had all the functionality we need at this time.

Pros

There's no real secret to project management tools - if it helps you get organized then it's effective. After implementing Asana for our team, we spend a lot less time building trackers, sharing documents, and holding sync meetings just to update on projects. Asana is flexible and easy to work in, meaning that I can have it up all day and jump in and out to update tasks and check-in on progress. Collaboration is greatly streamlined, and incorporating goals makes it easy to tie work to strategy.

Cons

I would like greater automation, but we haven't implemented a lot of integrations with our other tools. The integrations we have used (Gmail and Slack) have worked great, so I assume that there are more options for us to explore in the future.

Empower a manager to take on larger teams and projects

I could not run my business without ASANA. We develop software for a living. It is the SINGLE most important tool that we own. I would go back to coding in notepad. If it would allow us to keep ASANA.

Asana provides a solid interface that empowers me as a manager to manage more team members more efficiently. This software provides time-saving resources by allowing stakeholders to get their own project updates and track the project's progress without interrupting the team executing the project. Cons

Asana provides so many ways of doing things that every person who sets up a project can do so in a unique way. This requires a clear organizational strategy from the start. Very Useful and Affordable Project Management Software

My overall experience as a Business Development Specialist using Asana is really great. It was introduced to me and my colleague back in October of 2020. We are able to consolidate all of our task progress reports from many spreadsheets and offline notepads. We are able to spend more on planning our strategy and action plans because of lots of time that we are able to save with this business tool. It’s a good software I can recommend for both starters and existing companies who're struggling with project management and task assignments. Even beginners can easily adapt to this because of tips appearing on the screen, I believe those are really designed as tutorials for new users. The only thing is that we haven’t tried yet if it works if there will be 10 or more collaborators.

Pros

-Easily pull-up my assigned task and my colleagues tasks in one work-space -It serve as Masterlist for all of the tasks assigned to me and to my co-worker by our superiors -On management perspective, you can easily check and find the specific persons/members assigned on projects and each task within.

Cons

-There is a chance that some users may find its user interface non-user friendly and kind of boring especially those that are not on the management side. -Using multiple workspaces is a bit confusing, but It can be resolved if there will be a feature to customize the position of tabs or group of tabs. -Still require serious planning for organization of workspace because it will be a mess if the administrator or project manager will just put all of the ongoing project in just one workspace. They should be grouped or properly arranged according to which the task is associated.

Meh - If you want to spend the extra money I guess

Negative - features too expensive, ease of use very low considering things that would otherwise would seem a common topic you have to hunt down information on and support is usually no help.

Pros

Start and end date feature is great (if you can afford it) - 3 stars Animations are cute - 5 stars Colour Coding - N/A - basic project management feature Task duplication - 4 stars View options - 3 stars

Cons

After discovering other more robust software it became apparent how much Asana was lacking and how over priced it was. Things like start and end date are basic functionalities that should be available at the free level if they're not willing to negotiate the price for extremely small teams. Some may think if your team is so small do you need this software and the answer is yes. In todays economy and...
