Pros

This has been a great management tool for our company, the integration of comms has been great and has allowed us to cut down on mails as which has been amazing.
The paid version has some excellent functionality additions like dependencies and custom labels/tags, which can be really helpful.
Overall, I love that Asana is super easy to use, but also has more advanced features when you need them.

Pros

It's great for keeping tasks organized and showing the progress via Kanban and many other viewpoints. Great for assigning projects and knowing who's working on them.
Super simple to use and with a good range of functionality, Planner is a light project management tool that is an important part of the Office 365 suite.
I love that its customizable as I can assign cards and move them around as I please. The project management feature is very effective as I can set deadlines and monitor accordingly.

Cons

The worst thing is that some resources are paid, which limits the use of the platform by people who cannot pay.
Sometimes tickets get lost or buried but I feel that this comes down to user error and workload management and is not so much a fault of ht software or design.
I find it very inconvenient that I can't copy tasks to another project on mobile. This is my only complaint about Asana.

Cons

Few features on content management: No text formatting, impossible to identify collaborators in the comment, no drag and drop for files, no preview for images.
Frequent issues with lost updates and such, especially on other browsers than Microsoft Edge.
There is a lack of way of dividing activities into steps and setting deadlines.

Overall experience with Asana was great. In the end, I switched to using SmartSheets for a bit, then ended up using Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Planner.

Pros

Asana is easy to use. There are a lot of features that allow for group collaboration on projects so that that all key stakeholders are in the loop.

Cons

Although this platform is good, I have chosen to use alternative software. There is a lack of functionality for my purposes.

Asama is a nice platform to help you organize your work day. I like how easy I can assign new tasks and the way I can plan my workflow.

Cons

Very positive. We are currently using a everything from Excel sheets to Office 365 Planner to Asana.

Pros

I love the timeline feature as well as the fact that - it does it all without getting into the sort of overwhelming complexity that other project planning software does.

Cons

For a simple shared To Do list, it's a bit overwhelming - so you need to be really using it for a project that is at least somewhat complex.

I thought this software was easy to learn as a beginner in the online project management world. It was easy enough to follow their flow but also gave you a good amount of flexibility to customize certain tasks or projects.

Cons

I am a very visual learner and planner. I wish it would have had a better open for visuals instead of task lists.

Cons

Managing subtasks could be improved - linked tasks managed individually takes time, shared timelines should automatically update. Requires time invested into the software to understand full functionality

Pros

Asana provides an amazing array of features, even with the free version. I use it to keep track of all of my tasks in all areas of my life. College, work, church and personal. I keep my tasks in Asana and transfer them to my paper planner (Full Focus Planner) every morning as part of my morning ritual.

Cons

Can be a bit hard to set up at first. But once it's set up it works very well.

Was looking for a planning tool like Trello, was really taken by Asana and oh boy does it do well with MS Teams.

Pros

Asana is a great tool by itself, what I love about it is the ability to integrate it pretty seamlessly with MS 365 tools, that makes it better than its competitors like trello....

Cons

I dont really have anything negative to say about Asana. the tools exist in Trello and MS planner without it but it really does it well.

I have used Asana in a team setting and also personally to track goals, progress and to-do lists. The ability to track tasks is phenomenal. Asana also integrates with Slack which makes communicating with a team even easier.

Pros

The ability to track tasks and projects with Asana is great as an individual, or in a team setting. No need for a paper planner anymore!

Cons

It takes a little bit to gain familiarity with the software. At first it can seem a little overwhelming to get to know all of the features.

We use Asana to collaborate fully as a team. This software works very well for us! I log in daily to check my inbox, tasks and work on projects. We use it to store so much information and it has eliminated my daily email use-- which is great!

Pros

I like how Asana is collaborative and we can easy chat with each other, provide feedback and edit projects together. It makes it easy to work in different time zones with a fully remote team, because everyone can see updates in a project at their leisure. I also like how it has an app for mobile and allows you to have a no-notifications period.

Cons

I think the task project could use improvement. I would prefer a way to rearrange this section easier so it more models a to do list or a daily planner.

My company used Asana for 2 years and loved by it planner. We left about a year ago for a much more expensive program because they had some features the team needs

Pros

Asana I'd easy to use and administer. Managing tasks does not require additional process and everything is kept in the customer file.

Cons

In it's ease of use, Asana falls short on higher end project management features. But for the money it's perfect.

Pros

Simple and easy to use interface. Good initial application of the software.

Cons

Integration with existing Microsoft applications. Ability for DevOps to achieve everything that Asana can but with better Microsoft app integration as Dev Ops is part of the Microsoft Suite.

Pros

This is an excellent task planner, which allows you to clearly distribute tasks between subordinates and assistants, and monitor their work. Definitely, I recommend this application to others and I will continue to use it myself.

Great collaborative project/task management tools

Asana has been helping my company to implement and track multiple standardized processes efficiently (project management, on boarding new workers, training, handling non conformities, incident investigation) which need multi functions involvement and participation.

Pros

- Integrated to Google platform - Easy to develop template for standardized process - Smart and simple task scheduling and due date setting - Mobile app

Cons

I wish Asana can work with Microsoft to develop an app that enabling Asana to connect with Microsoft Teams.

Pros

I really like how you can organize all your daily and weekly tasks in Asana. I use the "Lists" feature to organize all my tasks, and it's really useful and works like a daily/weekly planner

Cons

The Premium Plan is quite pricey, although it doesn't provide much additional features as compared to the Free plan.

Asana helps keep tasks organized while giving your manager visibility on your progress.

Pros

Asana helps me keep track of upcoming deadlines for all projects. I can also receive notifications when my manager makes any changes. The gantt view is aesthetically pleasing!

Cons

I think there is a bit of a learning curve when figuring out how to create schedules. Also, you must pay to have gantt chart view, so I was unable to use this feature for my personal planner.

Pros

Everything. It is my day to day planner - without it I'm not sure my days would go as smooth. I love being able to tie it to my gmail account as well. It works extremely well for my projects.

Cons

Sometimes it can be a little clunky to get around and hard to figure out what some templates can and cant do.

Overall I am very happy with the platform. I probably haven't experienced everything Asana has to offer, but from my limited experience its a great tool that continuely works to get better.

Pros

I am a very visual planner and the UI is great for people who like to a have solid visual platform for their project management. I also love the templates and the app integration library, which also helps streamline my business processes.

Cons

The membership starts to get pricey when you go from 3 to 5 seats. Of course as a business owner I'm trying to save money! I also think that any paying customer should have the ability to brand their workspace. I use slack and they do not have a branding limitation on the plan that I have.

The main tasks creation feature is great. Asana has an interesting way of assigning users on each step of a job our project. Very useful.

Cons

I miss integration with other products, like Google Drive or Microsoft Office.

Microsoft Planner: Surprisingly Effective

Pros

I was reluctant to switch from Asana, which I considered the gold standard as a project management platform. However, Planner constantly impresses me by having functionalities I would not have expected it to have, or that I only expected Asana and other dedicated programs to have (rather than one aspect of the Microsoft Suite).

Cons

Microsoft Planner has all the key functionalities it needs, and more than I would have expected; but, it falls short on user experience. I used to want to plan everything in Asana because it was a little gamified. I am happy to use the Planner when it makes sense to, but I don't go out of my way to.

Low learning curve, effective for task tracking. I wouldn't be able to stay on track without it.

Pros

I add and review tasks to Planner multiple times a day. I use it like a to-do list and keep all of my tasks there so I don't forget. It also keeps me honest to show what I've already committed to so I don't get distracted by new tasks that aren't on my Planner board yet.

Cons

You have to manually click "add task" after writing your task. I believe Asana, which I used for a month before Planner, allows you to just write the task and it's automatically added.
