Asana vs Microsoft SharePoint Comparison

Asana is easy to use. There are a lot of features that allow for group collaboration on projects so that that all key stakeholders are in the loop.

Although this platform is good, I have chosen to use alternative software. There is a lack of functionality for my purposes.

Easy to collaborate and create new projects

Wish I could integrate it with SharePoint better

Intuitive interface with enough functionality to manage projects. Great for cross functional team management. Love the ability to upload files of any type or size. Minimizes email communication and keeps all activity in a single place for daily or historical references. Tag team members, create sub task, assign tasks, replaces Microsoft project and sharepoint. Streamlines work effort and file management.

Duplication of task caused by a glitch. Email notification is distracting but can be turned off in settings

Simple and easy to use interface. Good initial application of the software.

Integration with existing Microsoft applications. Ability for DevOps to achieve everything that Asana can but with better Microsoft app integration as Dev Ops is part of the Microsoft Suite.

I wish Asana can work with Microsoft to develop an app that enabling Asana to connect with Microsoft Teams.

It helps with task management and working as a team on tasks

Its less integrated with Microsoft office packages

It doesn’t have an inbuilt integration with Microsoft like in Slack

The main tasks creation feature is great. Asana has an interesting way of assigning users on each step of a job our project. Very useful.

I miss integration with other products, like Google Drive or Microsoft Office.

I like how organized you can get with the projects. I like to be able to see all of my projects clearly in one place.

I wish there was more integration with either Outlook or Microsoft Dynamics.

User friendly and most actionable system. It is one of systems to kèep on going because even on cell phone one can still do the work.

It makes lot or reminders that sometime irritate. It pops-up lot of reminders that somehow consume lot of data to be reading them time and on.

Flexible task handling. Flexible os usage. Exists even in microsoft store.

Could have more functions but allower it is a great product.

The boards are laid out nicely. I love the templates for different projects.

Microsoft Office suite has Planner built in and its free. Asana is expensive.

Helped me organize my tasks across several clients. Basically allowed me to scope and plan out implementation projects weeks ahead

Has a cost involved since Microsoft Planner is free since it's part of the O365 bundle.

This tool is great when managing multiple projects among teams. Great functionality and easy to use!

Would like better integrations with Microsoft Outlook in terms of updating Outlook calendars with asana deadlines.

Unlike comparable products, the free account offers unlimited tasks, projects, and conversations, and supports up to 15 team members. This is a great way to get started and learn the features and capabilities.

I really don't see a lot of integration capabilities with Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, To-Do, Project).

Asana allows teams to collaborate on projects and schedule tasks with deadlines similar to Microsoft Planner.

The Asan dashboard is underwhelming but you will get used to it.

1. Ease of useability and integration. 2. We can see all our tasks and progress on the tasks. 3. It can eliminate the use of other products such as JIRA.

It's hard for new users to get used to. there is no functionality to assign 1 task to multiple people as it does not let you. there is no option to log work or track time spent on a project or task

The task list helps to inform others of tasks they need to complete.

No file system. Non-Intuitive. Difficult to navigate. Poor graphics. Non-integration with Microsoft products. Poor communication tool.

Can manage different teams and freelancers easily. Particularly useful for telecommuters. Extremely easy to learn.

It's too bad it doesn't integrate into Microsoft Outlook calendar but email reminders solve that so it's not a big deal.

It clearly shows the task list of the project you are working on, with pre tasks and the option to attach sub tasks to a specific task. It makes the project management for all parties a lot easier

Ability to send tasks to people or highlight tasks and send messages to PM or Management, for example if a time has been put down for a task and you think it will take longer the ability to do this within Asana Outlook/SharePoint integration would be good

I can know in real time the status of tasks and projects, as well as create, assign and comment on tasks easily, to know at all times what is being done and who is doing it

Unlike Microsoft project, it does not generate a Gantt chart for the project and the free version only allows up to 15 people.

Asana has a great layout and integrates well within other products such as Microsoft teams. Alerts and useful in keeping track of deadlines.

Asana is more useful for managers who overlook multiple projects with team members vs a user managing a single project. Difficult to use when wanting to get task specific.
