Great tool for distributing and measuring work tasks

2016-11-03

We all use asana very regularly. It's great to distribute tasks and see how much is done and pending. It also helps in organizing and planning projects.

Pros

Love that I can reply/create tasks via mail. Assigning tasks, and checking the calendar for the planned schedule. Adding followers is very easy.

Cons

I prefer todoist for this.

A good tool to have for your teams

2018-10-23

They say it is a project and tasks management tool, but you can achieve that using TODO apps like Todoist at low cost.

Pros

User interfaces and experience are good. It fulfills almost everything that you need to manage your projects, and tasks.

Cons

Sometimes it completely feels like a task manager app. And it doesn't send mobile notifications for the tasks scheduled. It's like you just set due date-time for a task for your information only, without any functional purpose.

Team GTD for the Future of Work

2019-03-11

Pros

I love that it's easy enough to sign up for the freemium product and start to onboard your team with extreme ease. Before Asana, my team had a hard time setting deadlines and following through with tasks, as we have no project manager currently. After implementation, it's made task management more transparent and everyone happier and more understanding of each other's workload.

Cons

I currently use Todoist for all my personal task management (mostly for non-work projects).

Asana is optimized for teams but is workable for individual users

2018-10-09

For an individual, Asana gives me what most other top of the line task managers give me (todoist, nirvana, etc.) - folders, projects, tags, searches, mail-in inbox, etc.

Pros

I use Asana along with my primary task manager, Skedpal. They sync flawlessly and immediately, which is amazing to me. Asana allows me to save searches based on due date and tags, something I can't do in Skedpal, and to see my data in some different ways.

Cons

I already have 2 task management systems (Skedpal and Asana) but I have to have a third (Todoist or Keep) if I want location-based reminders!!

Great task management tool for small and medium teams

2018-09-10

Love it!

Pros

It's somewhere in between the Trello and Todoist, combining the best features of both.

Cons

Sometimes I find Asana a bit confusing with all the functionality, the calendar, the tags, the boards, etc. But when you get used to it - it all makes sense and becomes very useful!

Excellent for planning and managing your tasks

2017-05-23

Pros

The way you can quickly priotize tasks in the MY TASKS tab, it helps you to quickly put a priority to incoming tasks and they'll get sorted accordingly and it will leave only the one you should complete the same day in the page by default. The customer support with the guides and how-tos is really excellent The App Integration is first class, you can hook up several other services right directly in asana, like dropbox or google drive for file sharing, somthing for time control and management. And there is also instagantt which is extremely usefull if you want to do project management with a gantt chart and ability to have workload view, take and share snapshots of your work plan and several other features

Cons

A mobile app that would be as fast as Todoist one and which would allow you to have some custom calendar views of your tasks and project would be awesome.

One app to rule them all

2018-02-06

Pros

Easy and intuitive UI Great functionality (subtasks, tracking, commenting, calendar, todays to-dos...etc) Unbelievably fast even after continuous usage Reliable

Cons

The only one thing I am expecting is - better synchronization options with other apps (calendars, to-do programs like Todoist and Wunderlist... etc.)

Asana is by far the best team-based project-management software I've ever used.

2016-11-03

I had a great experience with Todoist as a personal task-management software, but I needed something for big projects, and something more oriented to team communication.

Pros

The amazing features, the FREE cost, the team-communication features. It allows you to take on enormous projects detail by detail.

Cons

It might be nice to be able to have more sub-tasks below main tasks, but I also think that they way they structure sub-tasks is really effective.

Great task manager that can handle both personal and business

2018-11-16

Pros

* Extremely flexible * Up to 4 levels of project nesting (this comes in handy when you're juggling multiple teams / projects / contexts) * Very powerful filtering * Natural language date input (you can write "next Friday at 8 pm" and it will know exactly when to notify you) * Works on every conceivable platform * Location-based reminders (on the premium plan) * Clean design * Cheap premium plan * Karma score that rewards you for completing tasks

Cons

* It's not as powerful as Asana for team collaboration

My go to for personal to do

2019-01-09

The "Asana" of personal productivity

Pros

Great app, lots of power with tags and projects, even though it looks deceptively easy to use.

Cons

The list gets busy really quickly; on Chrome its line breaks and general UX could be improved, but not an issue if you use the app

My search for a lightweight task management tools has ended!

2018-03-06

Todoist helps me organize my entire life. It's the one productivity app I can't live without.

Pros

I've tried all the task management tools from JIRA to Trello to Asana and a variety of other lesser known boutique tools from the Google Play Store.

Cons

If I had to pick, it would be to improve the display of the mobile app to more a "dashboard" view like the web app.

Lightweight To Do Lists, Powerful Features, Robust Apps and Browers plugins

2016-06-22

We tried Asana. We tried Wunderlist... none of them combined the simplicity and the functionality of Todoist.

Pros

Customer Support was on it when I had questions and the user guides are really helpful Combined with CloudMagic email for android (or iOS) you can use this powerful cards feature to process emails directly into the app while waiting for something to complete. Accomodates tags, and other systems while having a powerful search functionality (which helps us find duplicate tasks)

Cons

Todoist is miles ahead of asana and trello and wunderlist in terms of ease of adoption though.

Excellent product for GTD (Getting Things Done)

2019-03-02

I am learning that not everything needs a deadline, my to do list will always be full, and that I can accomplish more than I thought.

Pros

This product is streamlined and integrates well with other products. The ability to organize your tasks on multiple levels is also nice. What I mean by multiple levels: you can organize in a standard list, that any task list app will do. However, you can also organize by tag. Why this is nice is that if you have multiple personal tasks (for example) across varying lists for time periods, you can instantly pull up all of your personal tasks. There is a wide combination of course of how suit this to your own needs. Finally, the reminders are extremely helpful and make it easy to prioritize your upcoming tasks. I hardly ever forget anything now, since I instantly put it on my appropriate list and give it a due date (if appropriate).

Cons

(IQTell, Wunderlist, Google Tasks, Microsoft To Do, Asana, Evernote to name a few) This is the one I have been using now for over a year.

GTD At It's Finest

2019-03-11

Pros

I always battle between using Asana and Todoist, but you can really get the potential out of both apps if you use Zapier to connect both with each other.

Cons

I feel like Todoist is targeted toward individual users, rather than at enterprises.
