It is a great great tool for creating documents like PRDs and Information Documents of Projects and then sharing with team members to view and collaborate.

Searching was severely handicapped, and no linking of documents was really feasible. There was also poor management of permissions.

Sometimes I have difficulties with formatting some of the tables as it is frustrating when it does not follow what you want it to do and it takes a while to correct the mistake.

Confluence - Amazing wiki for all

It prevents redundant documentation and helps users to have a centralized space for all the stuff. Im pretty impressed with the confluence and use it on daily basis.

Pros

Confluence is a very efficient and user-friendly software that allows us to make a centralized repository for useful information/images/processes. Anyone can update that wiki page and can publish it post an internal review. The best feature is that it maintains update history with page versions in order to restore the previous version of that page.

Cons

It's been more than 2yrs I am using this software and I have not faced any problems or difficulties.

Great tool for companies of any size

We have been really impressed with Confluence and the use we are able to get out of it. Being able to use Confluence as an intranet and knowledge base has been very nice.

Pros

This is the perfect tools for an internal intranet or web resource for employees. You can customize spaces for your exact needs. It is more or less intuitive to use and can be used for companies of any size and any industry.

Cons

The editor can be fickle at times and doesn't aways have the best formatting, but it can be worked around.

Confluence for Collaboration

I was introduced to Confluence this year and immediately was impressed with how it helps teams work more cohesively together. My department has begun to use it as an internal knowledge base for processes, questions, etc. and it's been incredibly helpful to us in this regard.

Pros

I like the amount of flexibility creators have when it comes to page layouts and designs.

Cons

The interface is a little plain but functional for the purposes we use it for.

Overall great experience so far!

Pros

I recently started using confluence, and so far I'm very impressed. It has really helped them team I've been using it with keep everything all in one place and instead of having tons of separate documents spread out through Google Drive and Dropbox, it's all kept nice and tidy in Confluence. The functionality is great as well and the mobile app works nicely.

Cons

Sometimes it does take a while for it to update recent information.

Where Teams Meet

I was impressed that my team easily adapted to using Confluence. I didn't experience the grousing that can sometimes happen when new software is introduced into an existing environment. In the case of our company, we started with a single support site and easily expanded to a global environment once we had proved its viability.

Pros

Right out of the box Confluence provided a full-featured platform for sharing information. My team loved having the ability to customize their personal work space. We were looking for a platform to share IT support information on mission-critical network systems and Confluence delivered. Confluence will allow you to "start small" and then easily expand as your business dictates.

Cons

Many of the steps are repetitious when building and using the platform. It would be a great help if modules could be saved and "plugged in" where needed.

Highly Recommend

After using the tool for a few months I must say I'm impressed, the Online Diagram Software integration and the Jira integration make this software a joy to use. I recommend it for every development team, if you are using Jira as well and you are working in a way that requires a lot of documents like us, then I think it is a no-brainer.
