I started using Camtasia in the early 20 teens.  It was a struggle because I was new to learning tools like this. I have used others, but remained with Camtasia.  When updated versions came out they did not interrupt my ability to work or cause problems as updates can sometimes do.  The tutorials make learning easy as they are clear and concise.  And there are many of them!

Easy to use

I enjoy using the product on my PC. Transferring projects from one PC to another is very difficult.

Technical Support is an Issue at Techsmith

I've made demo videos of software in under a day with Camtasia. Editing them and adding callouts is a breeze.

Best for software training videos

My overall experience with Camtasia has been extremely positive. It has consistently allowed me to produce high-quality videos with relative ease. Whether for professional presentations or informal tutorials, Camtasia has equipped me with the tools to execute my vision effectively. Despite its few drawbacks, such as performance on underpowered machines, the advantages far outweigh any limitations, making it a valuable tool in my software suite.

Editing videos and creating videos is very easy

It does what I need most of the time, and when I put in the effort to learn, almost all the time. I wish the audio part was not so expensive. I just need some basic audio editing. I hate having to export it edited in a free tool and then bring it back. I would like to stay in one tool.

It does most the things awsome.

It has been very easy for me to get up and running with Camtasia.  As a non-professional, that was extremely important.  I love that I can continue to learn and expand my capabilities in Camtasia as I become more proficient.  I probably only use a small fraction of the capability and am eager to learn more!

My preferred video platform

I am fairly biased that I fell in love with camtasia as it hardly pose a bigger problem of using it. Beautiful fonts of text annotation, smoother transition of video between scenes, high quality audio and voice over and most importantly its integration with powerpoint presentation 

Camtasia - The best video creation software

It allowed me to do what was needed right "out of the box" and yet has the functionality for me to grow in the tool and exploit its features.

I am not a video-editing pro, I use it for recording and putting together webinars and training videos and Camtasia has always been my-go to software for years. It is very easy to start using it if you don't know anything about video editing but a miriad of additional featureas and options will make it easy. Due to its nature it might work slower on waker machines so it may take time between you click on record and it starts recording but you will always know when it does so there is no chance of recording or cutting your recording earlier. Editing is quite easy although applying smooth transitions between cuts with some efects takes some practice.

Best choice for rookies and pros.

I would give it a 95 out of 100. I have very few complaints. I have created some really great looking videos that the average person would not be able to tell if this were done in a program that cost thousands more. 

A GREAT, quicker, Easier to learn alternative for "Almost pro-level" video creation

Overall, my experience with Camtasia has been quite positive. The software excels in user-friendliness, particularly in the video editing department, where it allows for quick, distraction-free editing. The unique focus feature in the audio capture function is a notable highlight, providing capabilities not seen in other editing software, which significantly enhances voiceover work and music integration. The file-sharing feature also meets my needs effectively. However, there are areas where Camtasia could improve, such as increasing the recording speed to be on par with competitors like NVIDIA's screen recorder, and expanding the color grading options to allow for more creative flexibility. Features such as face detection and beautification would also be valuable additions to the software's toolkit.

Camtasia's Ease of Use and Audio Excellence Meet Opportunities for Improvement

Camtasia has always exceeded my expectations. It's way more powerful than people might expect, I know quite a bit about Camtasia but I totally admit there are more some features I haven't learned yet how to use but I know they exist and when I need them I know they will be there. TechSmith is also a really great company to work with, they really care about their products and making them better.  

Camtasia Can Be a Better Fit than More Expensive Video Editors

Camtasia has been a core tool in my (and my organization's) e-learning development toolbox over the years. We've used it to capture training content, edit training content, create training content, etc. Screen captures, live capture of instructor video, accompanying or standalone animated storytelling via graphics and text. It's been great.

Camtasia for Video Creation

I understand that further development has "corporate appeal" as its main aim. As a single user, a retired non-corporate user, I am not your principal focus. I am getting left behind as recent upgrades reflect corporate rates ($$$$) The program is of great value but upgrade costs for features that I don't use are quickly separating me as a future user. And that would be a shame. 

The Non-Corporate Enthusiast

I have switched to other video editors. They're either overly complicated (too feature-rich) or too expensive. Some are too simplistic. Camtasia continues to be the easiest to learn, use, and deploy videos. Regardless of whatever tools I try, I keep coming back to Camtasia.

Overall, very happy about Camtasia. Makes my life a lot easier :-) 

Does the job for me

My experience with Camtasia and Techsmith in general has been very positive. It's extremely beginner friendly; the mental bandwidth necessary to get started is low. But it's more than adequate for more detailed, more polished videos too, so my whole team can safely use Camtasia, regardless of our individual level of skill.

Finish 90% of your videos in 90% less time

This has helped me communicate technical concepts more effectively through visual demonstrations, leading to improved knowledge sharing and productivity within my team.

A versatile tool for video creation and editing.

Overall, I can’t imagine using another product to do everything Camtasia does right. I can easily export video and audio to manipulate in other programs that do what I need and then import those files back in. I don’t use the other products for the whole project as I find them harder to use.

Great for Quickly Getting Up and Running

Camtasia Personal and Professional Use

It's been very useful and easy to learn, I've used it a lot and also recommended it. It is not overly expensive but there are less expensive (and even free) apps around with the same capabilities, so a free version with fewer options and pay-per-addons would be a great alternative.
