Pros

Thus the ability to access and share information securely and seamlessly is one of the greatest attributes of the product.
Customer service is amazing. Like the ability to reuse templates so I don't have to re-type everything.
It's an awesome software and I'd totally recommend for any company secretary. It's worth every buck invested.

Pros

Their support has been great in helping me with any issues I have, and that has been very few and far between.
The Board is happy with the software, it is user friendly, displays well on computer, tablet, or phone. As an admin I am happy with the support whenever it is needed.
OnBoard has been great for our Board members and all users enjoy it. Great communication tool, very easy to use.

Cons

I'm frustrated that the web version and one-click are not identical yet and wait for the day that the web version can do the drag and drop the same way that one-click does.
My only criticism would be that i do have concerns of how documents we upload on a PC may appear visually on the users iPads.
As we are a not-for-profit organisation and not a listed company, we don't use all the features but there is no aspect of the software that we don't like.

Cons

Notifications that uploads have been unsuccessful are a little too subtle - meaning that you can miss it if you are working quickly (as we so often are during board pack creation).
Sometimes the icons are confused and even when you created a page, the icons inside this page are weird.
The video I could see and hear was choppy and hard to follow. I was unable to log in from my portable devices, and when I thought I was logged in, i could not be heard.

It's an awesome software and I'd totally recommend for any company secretary. It's worth every buck invested.

Pros

That we can go paperless is one best thing that has happened to my team. I love the fact that we don't have to print volumes of documents for our Board members to review. They simply have log in details and all board correspondence is available

Cons

To onboard new members and remove retired board members might be a struggle. Sometimes there is a lot of back and forth during transitioning. Asides this, the rest is cruise

OnBoard has enabled us to conduct more efficient and effective internal Board meetings, especially useful during this critical time when we're all virtual 100% of the time.

Pros

Easy and inituitive to utilize, both for users and admins who need to build out meetings, document libraries etc. Mobile/tabley friendly interface is a big plus. Drag/drop functionality is great. Has scalability through complex organizations, can be used from Board to individual team levels.

Cons

In comparison to other tools I've used, like Diligent, this is a much easier and more intuitive platform.

Very smooth experience, minimum training required. I am on several boards which all use various board portals. OnBoard is by far the best. Since I do not know the costs of all portals, I don't understand why OnBoard is not used by all boards.

Pros

Seamless navigation and viewing of agenda items and associated documents; actions needed and documents reviewing and calendar views

Cons

There is nothing that I like the least about this software.

It has stayed pretty consistent with the end-user experience, which is important for our board members.

Pros

Multiple user levels so that we can support two different boards within the same platform. We have many that overlap the two boards and some who do not - this allows the flexibility to manage those users.

Cons

In the version we are using, there are several administrator features not available. In order to get those, we would need to move to a version that would cost us about 3x more.

"Core features" require add-ons for full functionality

Be sure to keep everything in writing! Requests made during face-to-face renewal meetings will not be honored unless you follow up by email to confirm them. Especially be sure to document any requests to remove or swap add-ons.

Pros

Having all of our meetings and documents available to the board in one place has been fantastic! No more lost emails.

Cons

The core features are barely functional on their own and require multiple add-ons for full functionality for most boards.

Awesome - I love OnBoard!

I surveyed several board software products before selecting OnBoard. OnBoard is clearly the best on the market. I wish all of my boards used this!

Pros

The design and user interface are really easy to use. I love the fact that all of my board members can use the product without any training. Also, it's really handy to share notes before meetings. Super easy, super secure, and it makes our board meetings so much more enjoyable!

Cons

The only con is that I didn't find the software sooner!

Good starter product for board administration, navigation experience is average, feature limitations

This is the first board management tool we've used, so moving from what we were doing previously to this tool was a positive step for our company. My understanding is that customer support has been fairly responsive but we've gotten a lot of "oh our product doesn't do that...its on the list" or "we limited that feature on purpose because of XYZ."

Pros

OnBoard was a good starter product for our company as our structure has become more complex with multiple supporting organization boards that we are administering. The multi-tenant capabilities of OnBoard and the ease of toggling between different boards was a major driver in our decision to purchase OnBoard.

Cons

The social feed is not great and we had significant issues learning how to post and correctly push communication updates to email and notifications. The opportunities for board interaction are limited. The messaging feature is primitive. The survey and approvals feature is not easy to navigate and tracking responses requires an unnecessary amount of hops.

Passageways Board Portal

We are very satisfied with the Passageways Board Portal. We find that the portal is user friendly. The use of the portal has reduced the time spent on putting together board packets and the cost for printing and mailing these packets. In addition, it provides a central point for us to find all of our Board material in a safe and efficient manner.

Pros

Easy to use. Keeps everything in one central place and standardizes the process across all of our Boards and Board Committees

Cons

Software has been upgraded several times during the past 4 years and every time it gets upgraded it causes a learning curve for our members and users to reacquaint themselves with navigating and uploading material.

It is a much easier way to present our monthly loan committee meetings and approvals

Pros

It is fairly user friendly to get around in and if you are multiple boards or committees that use this software it is in one location

Cons

We use Actions to vote on Credits for approval. We need the discussion aspect so we have made this work for us but there are some items that could be improved. "Voting Responses" "Notifications" "Once something is Finalized, it is A-Z, date would be better"

Pros

We recently moved from an entirely manual, paper-based process for our board / committee meetings to OnBoard and we couldn't be happier! We have a small board so we didn't face many of the issues larger boards encounter. We found OnBoard incredibly easy to setup/configure as well as super user friendly, even to our board members that had never used a Board Portal. The OnBoard implementation/training folks are also great to work with!

Cons

Certain features are add-ons. While this didn't greatly affect us due to the size of our board, I can see this added functionality / expense coming into play for larger boards.

Very easy to use and learn, with a great price point for non-profit boards. Has plenty of functionality for our purposes and is available on a vast array of devices.

Cons

There were a few minor items where more customization would be nice, but these are very insignificant.

In ability to effectively comment on posted documents and hold discussion boards directly related to posted materials. Virtual meetings have been a challenge in terms of links not working and features in zoom being disabled if set up through OnBoard

Pros

The overall menu and user interface is refreshingly modern. Login is simple, secure, and allows you to reset your own password, like any sensible online login system. The book viewer is great on the app and online--you can scroll through pages that load quickly.

Cons

Overall no complaints! It takes work to invite and manage the many users on our eight different boards and committees, but the Admin controls make managing users as easy as I can imagine possible for being so detailed, and the sales and implementation team was incredible.

Our board has found OnBoard to be very user-friendly, easy to navigate and beneficial for following along in meetings. Having the repository for all board materials is really great.

Pros

This is a one-stop-shop for effective boards. The ability to store all board materials, build meeting content and through the use of the Book feature run effective meetings make it a must-have tool for any board that wants to be truly effective.

Cons

It is disappointing that the Actions functionality comes at an additional cost.

Great way to organize and share board materials, sometimes difficult to navigate

I've had great experience with OnBoard. Uploading materials is very user friendly and the contacts are OnBoard are super helpful when we have questions. OnBoard has kept me more organized and is a very useful tool.

Pros

What I like most about the software is how it's solved the problem of having to send emails with many attachments or print board meeting materials. All of the materials are in one place, and board members can still access them after the meeting.

Cons

It can sometimes be difficult for board members to navigate and know where everything lives. Many board members are very busy and even serve on other boards with different platforms, so sometimes I think it can be frustrating to have to log on and try to find their information.

OnBoard Board Portal

We are extremely happy with our decision to use OnBoard! We've been very pleased with our CSMs. Recently we rolled out OnBoard to 2 boards and the rep conducted 3 training sessions for our board members with very short notice. It's been great working with her! When reaching out to her, she's been very quick to respond or forward my email on to tech support.

Pros

Easy to learn both from an Admin and end user! Security measures of OnBoard! Great support team truly makes this tool excel above others!

Cons

While building an agenda, sometimes it takes a long time to save edits. This can be frustrating and has resulted in having to re-type edits as they did not save properly. Currently email attachments aren't able to be uploaded to OnBoard without saving the document. Unable to program default admins to all new items vs. currently only individual/creator is default admin. As the owner of the OnBoard tool, I have to rely on others to assign permissions and ensuring human error doesn't happen. It's difficult to assist board admins or board users without access. It would be great to have a Super/Master Admin role which will automatically be assigned with Admin rights.

Essential for Future Board Relations

In this new reality where virtual board meetings are essential to keep everyone safe, we felt ahead of the curve by already having partnered with OnBoard. Nearly all of our boards were already implemented and accustomed to the OnBoard portal, which made the transition to virtual meetings so much easier. Having an electronic board book makes last minute material edits a breeze instead of a nightmare!

Pros

This software is very easy to use and integrated smoothly into prior business practices. My favorite feature is the board book assembly. No more standing next to a printer for hours on end to assemble board books after spending hours organizing materials on your computer.

Cons

My least favorite feature is the management of permissions for every meeting and resource. The majority of our board meetings are open so we do not closely monitor access from member to member. OnBoard is a must for Associations

As a user who has worked on three different platforms now over the past 10 years, I am very happy that we selected OnBoard. The sales and onboarding team were 100% attentive in ensuring we were up and running and knew how to use the system by our deadline.

Pros

Using OnBoard for your Boards and Committees makes the production of meeting books super simple, provides for transparent and historical availability of information to your Board and committee members who use the system and allows users to access their meeting from multiple platforms. Committee members on the road - no problem, OnBoard is accessible from their phone.

Cons

OnBoard is a product that requires you to purchase a suite of services in various bundles and as you would expect, the feature you want is in the suite of services you didn't choose. This is not a deal breaker because the standard product is rich in offerings, it just makes it challenging upon start-up to choose the suite of products that you feel you will benefit from the most at the budget amount you are most comfortable with.

OnBoard has significantly changed how we do business.

We love that all of our documentation, voting, and board business is located in one place. We have two boards, plus numerous board committees. OnBoard makes it easy for us to access the information, in real-time, and we can direct our board members/volunteers where to go in the system instead of trying to locate the information and hope an e-mail goes through because the document was too large to send via e-mail.

Pros

The features I love the most are the agenda and minutes builder. Previously it would take us an hour just to build out the agenda or minutes because of all the attachments/appendices needed for each document. When changes were needed, you would have to update the entire document and all of the attachment/appendix labels - which is another savings of at least 30 minutes to an hour for each board meeting.

Cons

What I like least are the glitches that keep occurring while in the system. I get kicked out of Minutes Builder - while doing my minutes in the middle of a board meeting, from time to time items won't save or the system will tell me that I don't have permission and it kicks me out of what I was working on. I will say this is not as often as it used to be but is still a bug that needs to get corrected.

OnBoard - Easy to use and saves time

It is very easy to use and helps report generators to save time. The admin functionality is extremely user friendly and the product is easy to use for boards of all ages. This product has saved a lot of board meeting prep time, improved on the ease of getting information to board members, allows for more information to be made readily available and able to go back to information previously presented. The system allows for a secure method of getting private information to members that need to review information to make sound business decisions.

1) Easy to use for board members 2) Saves time for report preparers 3) Allows for more information to be made available 4) Secure method of dissemination private information

None at this time - It has been a positive experience

The Assistant I needed!

Pros

The feature that has been the most helpful is the permissions abilities. I'm able to manage several committees, two boards, and the staff all in one place! Being able to share documents, board members uploading their own documents to meetings, and sending announcements have all been so much easier using Onboard. We're still exploring new features since we're still fairly new to Onboard but so far we are absolutely impressed at how organized we've become since using it.

Cons

The integration with zoom is nice but many of our users didn't like not being able to see the entire group, it only allows for you to see the current person speaking. Other than that, everything else is great!

Pros

The best thing about OnBoard is how user friendly it is. We have some users that aren't very tech savvy and they can navigate the software very well.

Cons

We use OnBoard for two of our Boards and if a user is part of both groups and forgets their password or locks themselves out of their account you can't reset or unlock the account like you would for other users. The solution to this problem was not in the troubleshooting part of the website I had to email our rep to get the instructions. It is an easy fix but not having the solution listed was in issue.
