Pros

Year on year the software has improved and now represents simply amazing value for money. We looked at many systems closely but DocuWare proved to offer the best functionality vs cost.
This is very customizable for each business based o their requirements. Also the ability of Docuware to integrate with DB's is amazing and to pull and push data based on your configuration.
Ease of learning and use made it easy for even veteran employees to become invested in the product. We couldn't be more pleased.

Pros

We had a rocky start, but through deep discussions and strong support from ECM, we are successfully using ECM and enjoying a great process with automating our AP.
Great experience with the installers and training. They were always ready and willing to help us in the installation and have been very supportive in answering any questions we have had.
Most importantly, DocStar's customer service has been TOP NOTCH...although to be fair, we hardly ever have to call them since the solution is so stable.

Cons

Lack of documentation and information on the web to troubleshoot problems on your own. The company does not seem invested in its clients' education of how to use the product.
The one thing I think is missing (and this has been recorded) is that the "fat" client has been removed from the software. As an administrator, I made frequent use of the fat client.
In order to get results when performing a search you have to search the name of the document exactly as it was recorded. This can be difficult when looking for something that you stored months ago.

Cons

Trying to find documents for audits was a tedious, costly process and storing documents in file cabinets exposes our organization to theft and loss.
Lack or ready report, lack of ready workflow, lack of full Kinetic feature in ECM that works, bugs all around related to Kinetic.
Customer service is worthless, upgrading from the previous version to this one took twice as long as quoted, everything about this program is cumbersome and harder than it should be.
