Dropbox provides collaborative storage

2018-09-18

We use for bringing images to our website, for MailChimp and for templates that our staff may use to promote business or address client needs.

Pros

I appreciate the ease of use and availability on various devices that help us store and access group documents and photos.

Cons

I'd like for this to continue developing to compete with apps like Evernote in uses and ways to share.

Dropbox - the old faithful storage system

2017-10-05

I use iCloud, Evernote, Google Drive and Dropbox.

Pros

Dropbox is quite a simple place of storage for files. I get to see right up front what I have in my dropbox. Seems less complicated than the Google Drive or iCloud to me!

Cons

I suppose having to download and then edit and then return to the Dropbox can clutter up my workstation.

So glad that I upgraded

2018-06-14

Pros

Being able to collaborate on documents is great, plus I like the added security features it provides. The document recovery is great in case I accidentally delete a document. I like having 2TB of storage, I have a ton of documents.

Cons

It would be awesome if I could integrate it with other things like Evernote or other notetaking applications that would create documents there automatically, kind of like backing up notes on my iPhone.

The best cloud storage I ever seen

2017-09-19

Pros

It works across all mobiles, it has many "plugins", also, the "paper" application from Dropbox is replacing my Evernote. And a usefull feature is the revision history.

Cons

The price I think is the con that I have regarding this software. Well, yes, that all. Thank you very much.

Dropbox Rocks!

2016-01-25

I find it much easier to use than Google Docs or Evernote. I've setup folders for each of the groups I work with both professionally and as a volunteer, and use it to share large or multiple files that cannot effectively be sent as email attachments.

Pros

Easy access to my most used files from almost all of my apps. Automatically saves all of my photos that were taken on my mobile devices to the Dropbox cloud so that there are minimal chances of loss.

Cons

Price! You can buy a Terabyte hard drive these days for $60+ a Terabyte plan runs currently $99 per year. I would upgrade if it were a single 1 time pay for life. I can count on my hard drive lasting a minimum 5 years. I can set sharing up on it. that averages me to around $12 per year, I think the added functionality of Drop box is worth twice my hard drive value but no where near $99 per year.

Dedicated Dropbox User

I find it much easier to use than Google Docs or Evernote. I've setup folders for each of the groups I work with both professionally and as a volunteer, and use it to share large or multiple files that cannot effectively be sent as email attachments.

Pros

Files can be stored in Dropbox folders and shared with individuals or groups for easy access, downloads and serves as a great historical file resource for future reference.

Cons

The only con I have found is that some Board members report they are unable to access Dropbox on their company computers that have firewall systems which prevent them from visiting what those systems consider to be potentially dangerous.

Fast and reliable file syncing with a ton of great features

2018-06-14

Pros

My team uses Dropbox Business to sync files across devices and share documents both amongst ourselves and with external audiences. The tight integration with the Finder on Mac means we can treat our Dropbox folders as our default file storage location and not worry about what is or isn't being synced. The 2TB of storage is more than many people even have on their computer to begin with, so we never worry about running out of space. One of my favorite features is the ability to save, by default, all your screenshots to Dropbox. As a result, when I capture something on my screen, it automatically gets saved to the cloud and saves the link to my clipboard. So my workflow of sharing a screenshot is super quick. I also love the ability to selectively sync certain files. That's great for large video files that I want to have access to without taking up space on my laptop's limited hard drive. The granular controls for sharing certain files and folders also makes collaboration a breeze. We deal with a lot of creative assets like logos, color palettes, etc., and sharing a single folder with all of that stuff is one of our favorite features.

Cons

I worry that they might be headed down a path similar to apps like Evernote where the developers fall victim to scope creep.

Longtime Evernote user - still happy

2018-12-05

I also use Dropbox, but I feel that Evernote fills a gap that Dropbox has never been able to meet.

Pros

I like that I can search text in images, and sync notes across devices. It makes it immensely useful for work and life.

Cons

Seems like they've had multiple security breaches over the years, which makes me a little uncomfortable. They've been around so long that I have a higher expectation of them.

Can be frustrating until you get used to it.

2018-01-10

It is nice in some areas to be able to have things handy, but I prefer Dropbox.

Pros

Overall this a good competitor with Dropbox and, depending on how you use it, can be very beneficial in storing documents and presentations.

Cons

Not very user-friendly - could be better in that aspect. I think that by developing a more user-friendly app, they would be much better off in the long run.

A good collaboration software for groups of people who are already using Evernote

2018-04-18

Productivity, organization, project management

Pros

For complete newbies to the Evernote system, the utility of Evernote Business may be tough to "get" as it probably requires a shift in your productivity flow to get the most out of it. If you're willing to make that shift, however, Evernote Business rewards you with a best-in-class note taking system that goes from single-player to multi-player with collaborative note editing and organization. For teams made up of multiple people already using Evernote throughout their life, Evernote Business is a slam dunk.

Cons

- Collaborative features could still be a bit stronger - Not a Dropbox replacement, this is more a matter of fact rather than a criticism of the product.

Notes and reminder organization becomes simpler

2018-07-19

Going paperless as possible and Evernote is the primary tool to accomplish this goal.

Pros

- Works on multiple operating systems (windows, mac osx) - Notes/shared documents are synchronized between mobiles, tablets, computes - Single windows for all kinds of storage (todo, notes, passwords, shared documents, audio, video, etc...)

Cons

- Payment processing for license renewals are tedious job - integration with other cloud storage like dropbox/icloud is not supported

I used to really like Evernote

2018-12-11

A once great piece of software, now experiencing competition from superior brands.

Pros

I like the interface of dropbox business, but the actual implementation of some of the features could be significantly more helpful.

Cons

No nesting of folders. The workflows are not well defined how the implementation of the product should be handled.

Evernote manages to find a place in my workflow

2016-11-16

You would think that by having Google Apps and Dropbox I wouldn't need Evernote.

Pros

Easy to search, easy to organize, easy to share.

Cons

You do have to have the app installed on your phone or computer, unlike GoogleDocs, which is accessible by browser alone.

Evernote as a storage for important notes and contacts

2017-10-05

Cant say goodbye to Evernote yet. It is free and holds much of my old data.

Pros

I like Evernote as I can so easily download notes on my iPhone to my Evernote App and that means that I have them stored safely in 2 places. Then I can bring up those notes and data on other devices. And it is free!

Cons

I find when I keep Evernote and Dropbox going I feel that my data is secure in two places.

Good but no comparison to OneNote

2018-11-28

Good experience if you are on a budget for a note taking system, if budget is not a concern, go with Office Professional and have a full suite of office management tools which integrate better together.

Pros

Has very good integration with document platforms such as dropbox and is available on multiple platforms with a great sync interface

Cons

This software is pale in comparison in terms of features to oneNote which syncs across all office products and has rich APIs for integrating with other products.

Evernote is great for people on the go who need to be organized

2018-08-15

For anyone looking to organize and collaborate anywhere you are, Evernote is a great option.

Pros

Evernote allows you to see important information wherever you are. The desktop and mobile apps synch, allowing you access to any files or lists you store on the program.

Cons

If that is important to you, DropBox might be a better option, as it allows you a much higher storage capacity.

Structure by flexibility

2017-10-04

Pros

I can't imagine the where I was limited to sort docs in folders alone. Thanks to Evernote I can categorise content in folders (for when I have to share them for example), but I can just as much tag them with keywords that would only make sense to me alone. It's like you are able to look at your data in 3D instead of it being hidden in folders.

Cons

As such, I often times find myself exporting docs from Evernote to Dropbox or Google Drive, simply because they are easier to navigate in (because they are limited in functionality).

A revolutionary way to work with a team

2019-02-28

A very smooth way to boost productivity

Pros

I like the fact that Evernote Business really helps team to boost their productivity: you can integrate a lot of apps with it - Google Drive, Google Agenda, WeTransfer, Trello, DropBox, OneDrive - consequently, Evernote becomes the go-to platform to implement group projects.

Cons

I don't really like the interface of the app - the colors, the fact that it looks quite empty/blank when there is nothing written. I really prefer the way other apps look, like "ColorNote". It could be improved with a more flat design.

Best collaboration tool for small teams

2018-01-29

Note taking, sharing documents, capturing ideas etc

Pros

Similarly Evernote can be linked with other popular tools like dropbox, box, basecamp etc Various templates like calendar, expense tracker , phone log etc come with Evernote.

Cons

Evernote is not robust enough to cater to big teams and big companies. Larger companies and bigger companies have more options in the market place.

Jack of all trades

2016-12-06

Occasionally notes and files take a long time to load, so I feel more confident sharing across other services like dropbox. The business card scanning is not quite consistent enough to be truly useful.

Pros

Cross-platform use

Cons

Depending on the platform it can be difficult to see where you are adding things. All folders look the same - not good for those of us who work in color.

Top of the line

2018-06-15

Ability to retrieve older documents with ease. I can also, whether mid-conversation or during a meeting or presentation, quickly retrieve information that I've forgotten or to elaborate on someone else's ideas.

Pros

Evernote is also able to easily collaborate with all the other storage software(Dropbox, Drive, Box, OneDrive, Acrobat, etc.) and the syncing is better than any other software I've used to date.

Cons

OUT of EN, if I'm not sharing it to another integrated application(like dropbox). EN makes it's own document extension.
