Solid Content Sharing tool

2018-11-06

I've used DB both personally and professionally and quite like it

Pros

I like it better than Sharefile though I can't really put my finger on why.

Cons

There's not really anything to dislike about this. It's not free, but what is?

Easy to Use and Extremely Reliable

2018-12-05

I tried gmail, sharefile, office 365 and I like Dropbox more.

Pros

Dropbox is extremely intuitive and have never had an issue with losing documents, spreadsheets etc.

Cons

I do not have any cons. It has never failed me. I am not sure it the least expensive solution out there so that may be a con.

So much easier to use than Google Drive.

2017-12-11

Pros

Ease of use, so simple to drag and drop rather than deal with the pain of access on Google Drive or Sharefile. Never had any problems.

Cons

Not much to dislike, have had it close on me a time or two, but very very little actual issues with this software.

Easy to use

2018-09-22

Pros

DropBox is easy to use. It was the first cloud storage application I ever tried. I was impressed with it then but since then have found cloud storage that I like better.

Cons

Recently I started using ShareFile for work and now for personal uses.

Does it's job, shares files.

2019-02-01

I can't say I look forward to using this service. But I also don't have trouble with it. It does what it is supposed to do, without many bells and whistles. I'm still getting used to it, but imagine I'll be a pro in no time.

Pros

This application gives me a lot of control over who has access to files both within our organization and externally. We had some other services before that didn't work as well and took longer to upload/download media. One I figured out the navigation, I haven't had any trouble sending and receiving files.

Cons

When DropBox is the competition, it's hard to love ShareFile.

Very useful for storing files

2019-02-04

It offers some sort of alternative to onedrive/dropbox. Would advise.

Pros

Gives you the ability to store files in the cloud, wherever you are. So if you have the softare installed, you can pretty much get to your files wherever you are. Also, there's an outlook plugin, which is really useful for sending big files over mail.

Cons

When setting up Sharefile for end user (i'm an administrator), i sometimes run into an issue which causes me to run the setup twice. It won't work after the first time as configured.

Very flexible business

2019-01-23

ShareFile is the business application that tries to replicate that "Dropbox Look and Feel" loved by millions users.

Pros

- Dropbox Look & Feel - Multi platform (Desktop apps + Mobile apps for Win / Mac / iOS / Android) - Advanced sharing option (like expiration date / upload-download notifications) - Users management (granular privileges can be assigned to any folder or file) - Versioning feature

Cons

No downsides or weaknesses, so far. Both desktop and mobile apps are pretty stable and servers uptime on clouds is near 100% (no issue observed in the first year of continuos use).

Pretty common tool across other cloud services

2019-02-16

Pros

Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc), which is great if you want diversity.

Cons

They need to make more unique services. A lot of other cloud services offer the same collaboration tools, so what makes them special?

2018-02-21

Pros

+ Install it and forget about it - requires very little input from the user + Automatically converts files over a user-definable size to download links + Custom brand the software using your own logos and colors + Eliminates need to create .zip archives, use dropbox, etc.

Cons

- Cannot configure the colors of certain elements in the branding configuration, including the download button in emails.

ShareFile is the Gold Standard

2019-03-11

Pros

What I like most about this software is how easy it makes the sharing of documents as well as it's various integrations into Microsoft Office and Windows.

Cons

My biggest con for this software is its lack of a taskbar shortcut to access their software to upload documents. Dropbox has one and it's the biggest complaint I get from users even though Sharefile has other alternatives and shortcuts to upload and access documents.

Beta tester turned daily user

2016-06-29

I have a long history with Citrix. I beta tested the GoToAssist line of products. So they asked me to beta test the ShareFile product. In the beginning it was crap. I tried to upload my files (about 1 TB) and it croaked after 5 GB. I called support and they referred me to a company that was writing a migration tool. I beta tested that too. they asked for my honest opinion and I gave it to them. I told them Citrix should just fix their software and I shouldn't have to buy an extra tool to get my data into the cloud. Fast forward 2 years later, my Accountant tells me we are bleeding money paying for something we're not using (ShareFile) he said use it or dump it. So I download it again, started using it, uploaded my 1TB+ of data into it and was impressed. They have come a LONG way. I can even modify word documents and PDF's within the ShareFile client. Now they have an iOS app and droid app. I see improvements on a regular basis, like now they have a "save to sharefile" option on the iOS. This is Citrix after all they make good stuff. I am glad I stuck with them so long because now I have a grandfathered account type. It's coming along really well and I'm really happy I stuck with them. they used to support WebDav for windows integration, now they have a "Mapped drive app"

Pros

iOS save to sharefile Easy to use interface progress bar when uploading files MODIFY DOCUMENTS in sharefile share a file/folder for a # of downloads share a file/folder for a # of days download notifications no sharefile account? no problem you can still see my files Ha Ha I FORCE you to create an account, to see me files because I can! (or because my regulations state I have to require individual accounts.)

Cons

Relatively speaking they are coming late to the market, Box and Dropbox have been out a long time.

Recommendations to others considering ShareFile

Though sharefile is not as old as dropbox, they are enterprise ready. Specifically designed for business. I've looked at Anchor (acquired by eFolder), Box, dropbox, OwnCloud, QNAP sync. I use ShareFile.

Great way to share big files easily and securely

2018-03-21

Easy file sharing, password-protected workspace for collaboration

Pros

It also offers a password-protected space where you can share files and collaborate securely, eliminating the need to email sensitive files, create and compress packages and use services such as WeTransfer or Dropbox. The electronic signature capability is also useful.

Cons

The price point is a bit steep, since there are alternatives (e.g. WeTransfer) that offer some of ShareFile's functions for less.
