Best cloud on the market!

2018-03-26

Pros

Lots of free storage, easy use for adding and remove documents available anywhere, easy for online editing in forms, docs, spreadsheets, etc. Available on any platform.

Cons

The only thing sharepoint has over this is that sharepoint integrates a little better with microsoft products (word, excel, etc.)

My first cloud storage platform

2019-02-12

Pros

Great for small to medium business and even better personal use software. Really set the standard for the user friendliness of an online drive.

Cons

I wish the dashboard was more configurable like Microsoft SharePoint.

Storage, Sharing, Saving/Exporting, so easy!

2018-06-12

Great for an office to use like a Sharepoint

Pros

You can save anything you need to your google drive from pictures to videos to documents to excel spreadsheets. Items can be shared, organized in folders, synced from computers and phones, and can be accessed via the web. Prices are reasonable starting with free and limited packages and you can select the level of storage space you need based on price

Cons

It can be a little confusing to navigate and sometimes items can get corrupted if they are not exported/imported correctly.

Best Online Storage Drive Out There

2019-04-16

I use Google Drive to save every important document, google sheet, image, and more. It is so easy to add folders to organize information. I love that it is a one stop shop for all of my files. I also love the iPhone app for Google Drive. So easy to use!

Pros

Best part of Google Drive is it's ease of use. It takes seconds to upload images, documents, and files to the drive and organize it via folders. Their iPhone application is so wonderful too. No bugs, so easy to pull up my files on my mobile device no matter where I am.

Cons

I prefer it over Microsoft SharePoint or Dropbox for file storage.

A great way to store your files in the cloud and share with your team

2018-11-13

A great tool that is easy on the wallet and matches functionality of larger enterprise systems out there such as sharepoint.

Pros

This tool is easy to use. I virtually had no ramp-up time in learning how to store important documents and share with the rest of my team.

Cons

It is somewhat limited in it's search functionality. Sometimes I can't remember where I stored a document and need to access it quickly.

I always use google drive for school projects that I need to work on.

2018-06-13

I get the benefit of sharing documents among multiple computers.

Pros

I like how I am able to easily share my documents among any computers/devices that I use without needing any software on any of the devices.

Cons

It is missing some of the functionality of a similar program that you need to pay for (sharepoint, onedrive, etc.).

Education Drive Use

2019-02-01

Drive has allows our district to connect in ways that we have not previously been able to. It has also provided a great way for teams to store files through the new team drives area. The sheer amount of storage that Education gets (unlimited) is amazing too. Google really seems to focus on helping businesses and schools expand their online footprint.

Pros

It has given us a great alternative to Sharepoint and allows us to do everything from collaborate with each other to accept online submissions from community members.

Cons

Google is great, however there are times where strange things seem to go on. Drive files may not show unless you do a search. Documents mysteriously are out of sync. In general though these problems are few and far between.

The #1 choice in team document storage

2018-07-25

Pros

Documents are super easy to upload, its fast and intuitive, and easily integrates into the rest of the Google Suite. Sharing is a breeze, and its easy to search and find documents from the past.

Cons

I also think a more strict versioning workflow would help for the professional side of Google Drive, and that doesn't exist currently (versioning on Google Docs does, but not a check out / check in system like you get in a Sharepoint)

Great Collaboration Tool; Easy to Use

2019-03-10

Pros

* Silky smooth user experience. * Fantastic for collaborating. * For many small to mid-size companies, they can get away with the free version. Google is generous with the storage. * All in the cloud; helps cut down on version control and is a total lifesaver if you're worried about hardware failure, etc.

Cons

That said, I've used both G Drive and SharePoint, and Drive runs laps around Microsoft's comparable product

Pretty complicated, needs somebody to manage it full time

2018-03-08

How about Google Drive + Google Docs...?

Pros

Share Point 2013 introduced online editing of MS files, which seems to work well (although you have to "save" spreadsheet changes, and don't have to with slides - or the other way around?) You can organize permissions in a flexible enough way. There is file versioning.

Cons

I've had experiences with SP2010 and SP2013, so please keep this into account. In 2010, you can't simply move a file from a folder to another. You can if you open the locations with Windows' file explorer - if you find out how. Haven't tried in 2013. File checkout sometimes gets stuck, and eventually you cannot open the file anymore. There are sites, lists, collections, folders... it's not easy to figure out how to organize something that you generally imagine hierarchical with all these classifications. I often find it hard to navigate and find files. There's no real breadcrumb to indicate where you are, and I guess it reflects the complex organization of the resources (it's not really files either). Integration with external systems is quite an effort, if you're not the in the .Net environment.

Better options available.

2019-03-16

Given the option, I prefer Google drive as a service.

Pros

Easy to store, share, and update files as a team. Fine for collaboration and group work on single documents.

Cons

The UX/UI could have been much improved; super slow, regardless of the network used, and the search functionality was really inaccurate.

Not in love

2019-02-01

The military relies on sharepoint heavily, likely because of a cheap contract with microsoft. But I think its bloated and buggy

Pros

I think a lot of the functionality is nice, but I would much prefer managing files on google drive. Google drive is much more collaborative.

Cons

Sharepoint is buggy and hard to deal with when you have too few users with too many permissions. If never use sharepoint again I'd be happy.

SharePoint

2019-03-05

I think other applications like dropbox or google drive are just as effective and easier to use.

Pros

It is nice that large files and documents can be shared with my whole company.

Cons

It is difficult to gain access. Takes much effort and requires inside support. Sharing versus Viewing files and docs is cumbersome. It requires many clicks (steps) to open a document.

Antiquated collaboration tool

2019-02-12

Still a solid platform - but with other web based options that integrate with Google Drive easier make this seem outdated

Pros

Ability collaborate actual files was an amazing feature Built in user access for intranet users - easy to select who can access what

Cons

Old - no longer the best option, nor the cheapest Collaborating outside company takes more setup than alternatives

Don't Love it

2019-02-01

Would rather use a simpler system like google drive.

Pros

The software has many capabilities to set up collaborative pages. I think this is where it stands out among its peers.

Cons

I don't love that face that, unless you are given permissions, the site can hamstring a lot of your efforts. When sites are setup to make its users constantly ask for permissions with non intuitive permissions functions it can be painful

Great for projects and collaboration

2019-02-10

Pros

I like the ability to manage tasks, projects, and deadlines, in a collaborative manner. You can share and work on documents and files in real time right within Sharepoint.

Cons

Great for heavy office users that need a repository, not great price for small businesses

2018-05-04

Pros

Very similar layout, feel, and functionality to the rest of the office products, which is great for working with the program Has pretty much any feature you could need in regards to managing and sharing files

Cons

I love using Microsoft Sharepoint, but the design and ease of use could be improved.

2017-12-12

Our team is able to save time sharing these documents and it has been a great tool in the workplace.

Pros

I like that, similar to Apple, this has somewhat of a "cloud" where you can access your documents which has been very helpful.

Cons

While it is similar to Google Drive, I prefer the ease of use to G-Drive instead.

A good opportunity to work on documents with other individuals simultaneously.

2017-11-23

Pros

A good place to upload, store, and edit documents online. Similar functionality to microsoft office. Accessible from anywhere, on any device, and also allowing multiple individuals to work on the same document at the same time. Also the option to download the document, edit, and re-upload as well.

Cons

Sorry, but we feel google drive is a better alternative.

Pros

This program is not one I recommend.

2019-03-04

It is below average. I usually like Microsoft products, but am unimpressed.

Pros

This program in my opinion is a paid version of the Google Drive. It is a way to keep your documents in one place and promote a sense of collaboration on group tasks and projects.

Cons

I do not think this program is worth it. It is a very difficult software to use. It is easy to lose documents, have documents not sync, and have trouble collaborating. Unless you have a passion for Microsoft, exclusively use their products, or have money to spend I do not think it is worth the money.

Easy to use document management and storage system

2018-09-12

Pros

It is very easy to upload documents in terms of quickness. Given that I work in an information-sensitive role, I appreciate that I can select which users have access to the materials I upload. I work for a company that is entirely Microsoft-based, so obviously it's very important to use a document management and storage system that's synced with all that software.

Cons

Unlike other document management and storage systems, such as Google Drive, SharePoint doesn't have the functionality to edit documents directly on the cloud.

Sharepoint as Collaboration Tool

2017-04-14

Pros

My company utilized Sharepoint both for document sharing and as a collaboration tool, particularly with allowing people to claim different tasks off of a shared spreadsheet. For those purposes, Sharepoint was perfectly adequate.
