It's a really easy way to let others access files or send large files. The best part is that one can set an expiration date if you want to restrict the access to the file. I send small files all the time with a 1-2 day expiration. For large files, the system really uploads crazy large files efficiently and in a timely manner. Sometimes it takes awhile, but that's ok.

That is won't just let me download - it wants me to store files in "my hightail." I use it as a middle man - it's not my go to storage location.

The ease of uploading large documents and the upload time is super easy/quick. It gives you an email notification that you can even forward if you forgot to include someone to the original route list.

I use the free version so there is a limit to how long the file will be available to download. It's not awful and you get a months amount of time. The free version is enough for me as a user because I only use it about 10 times a year or so.

Unfair storage space offer (promising what they cannot accomplish). Only your main operating system drive can sync files to the cloud. Bad sync app not offering the functions that a sync app must have today. You can't preview files online easily.

Convenience, ease of use. Recipients never have issues downloading fils we upload and visa versa.

No ability to save custom messages and replies to drop into message box.

Sometimes, some people can't use the software but that is rare.

I had no problems installing the program and using it.

Graphics look good, sometimes. I suppose if you can base your working practice, and interface with clients, around it (and I don't think that would be wise) it might work well.

For me it's over complicated and unreliable. Also, while I had an account they changed their name twice, which is an irksome complication between me and my clients and shows a lack of stability with the company. My biggest complaint now is that their "customer service'" doesn't deliver (like their software, much of the time). After I had contacted them to close my account, and received confirmation, they continued to debit my card for the subscription.

It is easy to use. I like that I receive notifications on sending files and when the files are downloaded. I also like that I have a link to send to clients that they can also send me large files.

The one print broker I work with has a problem saving files fro mere to his phone. He needs me to use Drop Box, I believe it is because he does not have the APP on his phone.

They have unlimited storage on the cloud.

Bad customer service, and horrific upload speeds. When your main job of your app is to upload files to the internet, and you can't do that quicker than it would be for me to travel by horse and buggy with a hard drive 30 miles, I'm pretty sure you're failing at what you offer.

As YouSendIt, it used to be so simple and easy to use, I used it several times a day, no problem for years, all my customers loved it.

I did work for many schools and colleges. As soon as the name changed to Hightail, their email servers blocked the name "Hightail" as porn spam and I started getting complaints of jobs not being received. Customer service got worse, the app that I loved went away and had to use online clunky interface that was not at all intuitive. Hard to cancel. I was glad when my credit card expired!

I love that I can upload high resolution images easily, and share them with others privately using a link and access code.

It takes a while to flick through images one by one. I tell people to download a whole album and then browse them rather than do it on hightail, then delete what they don't want.

It works reasonably fast, 101% without fail, though sometimes it takes a long time to transmit.

Hightail is very easy to use and allows me to send any size file to any user quickly without ever having any problems on the receiving end. When sending important, time sensitive files that are often very large, I am always confident that they will be received and downloaded when I use Hightail.

I don't have any cons to share about Hightail.

Super easy to use! And very easy for non computer savvy clients to view and use.

At times I wish the upload speeds were faster.

I’ve used hightail off and on for over a decade. It’s an extremely easy to use file transfer platform. For most people the free account will function for their purposes, and the rates for a higher level of storage are reasonable.

I don’t think their name and connections in the business world are as prolific. People know of it but I’m not really sure Howell integrated it is with other software sweets like for example one drive or Google Drive.

The branding change and the impetus to be more than what I needed.

I really like the control you can have over sharing files. Prior to hightail we would just share dropbox links but they were not secure nor could you tell if someone had downloaded a file. Hightail solves those problems.

There isn't much to not like. I wish the teams pricing was a little lower but it's more than fair given it's alternatives.

Hightail is very user-friendly. Very little training necessary.

New features sometimes make you change the existing user-experience / user-behavior.

It is critical that I can trust the files I send will reach my clients. I've never had a failure and clients never report any difficulties in obtaining their files. Also the interface provides a record of uploads I can reference. Hightail helps me practically every day.

Hightail spaces seem a little confusing but one of my clients uses it without problems.

Quick and simple, once you know what to do it's easy to follow.

Can sometimes be confusing (not user friendly) to older people.
