It has been a good and reliable file transfer system
The software allows for the transfer of large files and groups of files that are too large to send as e-mail attachments. I have found it very reliable.
It used to be more functional when it was an add-in to Outlook. That no longer works so you have to go to the website, which works, but is more difficult.

Quick transfer of large presentations and high res images
HighTail/OpenText is easy to use and that makes sharing files a quick task. I haven’t used the feature where multiple people, can work on a file yet, but would like to
That you have to send individual documents/images. There are times when I’d like to send a whole folder and either you can’t or I’m not sure how to do that anymore.

When the files I share to my clients are too big to email, Hightail saves the day.
1.) It's very simple and easy to use 2.) They give you a link you can share for the space you created. 3.) You can keep adding spaces to segment different files
I don't like how your account max out on the space and even if you delete files, it still won't let you add more.

It allows me to upload preview video files for client review and then delivery of the final product once approved. Usually these files are less than 1GB; 1920x1080p mp4 HD video in stereo.
It works as advertised. Good feature set.
Does not allow the uploading of a FOLDER, i.e. a batch of still photos.

I'm a writer and almost all of most of my business files are small. I mostly use Hightail to share videos, which I don't take often, but it's been absolutely seamless for that.
Ease of use. Straight forward. Just type in an email address, write a note if you want, and drop in your file.
No complaints. I'm edging toward retirement so I'm mostly using it socially, and don't need it very often, so per use can get a bit expensive for me.

Hightail has been one of our preferred programs for sharing large files between teammates, outside agencies, and clients.
Great service to allow for sharing of large files, that allows you to easily upload into the program as well as track as it goes through.
When you share a link, you need to pay attention to when it expires, as sometimes it can expire relatively quickly. Additionally, those who receive the files can have difficulty downloading if not set up with the proper plugins on their computer.

A client suggested I use Hightail to receive massive files from him. I downloaded it and it worked without fail. I also use Dropbox, but Hightail seems much more focused.
Enables transfer of massive files between users. Makes remote work easier and once you set it up runs seamlessly.
I wonder if there are features that I am not using that can be put to good use (I'm primarily using file transfer)

I feel safe sending password protected files and I'm delighted that I have options like verifying the recipient and confirmation of recipients' receipt of files.
This user-friendly software is reliable and secure and has never failed me - I've been using it for anearly decade and it has never failed me.
There's nothing I dislike about this software - it performs consistently well!

Having the our corporate image branded on our FTP service is very nice. It is easy for the client to send files and easy for us to retrieve them.
The interface for my clients is super easy to use. This is very important for us as some clients do not want to sign up for a ftp service to send files.
We are very happy with the service and interface. So there are no cons for us.

I have used Hightail over the years. Formerly known as yousendit. Hightail allows you to upload files and send them securely. The features are similar to any service that sends files for you. You can upload 100 MB at a time up to 2 GB for free. Plans start after that for a paid account. The GUI is nice and streamlined and a collaborative are is a nice touch for teamwork.
There are other options out there that seem to be more integrated, but for sending a file for free it is a nice option.

Sending files is easy fast and the control I have is great.
Easily I can send and track files being sent to my clients. I can adjust the time the file is available and get a notification. As to when the files have been downloaded. To me that’s critical.
I don’t use the project sharing but I should as it adds value.

To have one place to work from including having clients send me content, is what has kept me loyal the past several years.
I love that all of the content that I have uploaded throughout the years is still there should I or a client need to access it. The level of reliability is essential in our industry.
I don't feel it is as user friendly via mobile devises.

Being a Film and TV editor, it beats all the competition with the ability to host very large quicktimes. I love it.
I love the Hightail Spaces, it makes sharing a group of files much more user friendly for clients.
I wish we could choose the thumbnail image for quicktimes. It's a shame it's just automatically chosen for us.

Over all it does its job. Gives me what I need. My plans.
Not to much to it I get a bid invite from maybe two General Contractors and I click the documents to have them download.
Not much to it. No good back ground just simply enough to get what you need done. I only receive bid invites through this system.

Ease of a drag and drop to upload files. Remembering email address Retaining data so if I need to forward on a file to another person, I don't need to re-upload. We don't think about using Hightail in our day to day, we just default to it.
No cons. We need to send files quickly and easily, it does this very well.

I am so disappointed. This software was used by an employee over 6 years ago, and never once received as much as an invoice, check in email, or any email for that matter. They have been charging my company for 6 years on an inactive email account. They should have much better checks and balances.
We never used it so we can't speak of any pros.
Lack of communication, we didn't get any statements/ invoices....

I like Hightail because it is very simple to use. And it is fast. I rarely encounter challenges with the exception of the iPhone issue.
What I like the most is the simplicity of the software and that I can use it from my phone.
Sometimes when I am trying to send videos from my iPhone, Hightail appears to be stuck. Sometimes I need to try 2-3 times.

I am so frustrated with Hightail. Their desktop app for the mac is synching the folders on my account but not bringing the files in that belong in the folders. the only way for me to access files that my clients have shared with me is to recreate the folder hierarchy on my desktop and manually download each file.

Hi Robin, So sorry to hear of your frustrations. Our desktop sync app is designed to Sync everything that you have located in your Hightail cloud account including all files and folders. My guess from your description is that you had a lot of files and folders that needed to sync and that first sync can take some time. We will first create the folders within the app and then start to download...

I send digital images to my Editors. Each image is about 20MB and a dispatch of images can be as large as 600MB. Email can't do it. Recently I had a rush job. I was in South Dakota, my editor in Wales, and we were on deadline. Images and text were delivered quickly and with ultimate reliability. All other dispatches around the world have been trouble free.
It is extremely easy to use and fast to prepare a dispatch. It has been totally reliable. It allows me to track dispatches. My customers have never had a problem downloading.
I love the software. The only issue is internet speed. I send large images; without enough bandwith, images may be slow to upload. That isn't Hightail's fault.

As noted above, forwarding of high resolution photos from my sources and forwarding those photos to my editor has been extremely valuable for me, saving time, as well as wear and tear on my nerves!
I am so happy to have this software. I write articles for a technical magazine and need to send high resolution photos with my copy. Without Hightail this would take me forever, as I live in a rural area and the internet (while reliable) is a bit slow. So Thanks!, Hightail Further, I can send a link to my Hightail dropbox to my sources, so they can easily send the photos to me. Works so well :)
I can't think of anything I don't like. Hightail has always worked very well for me.

I've been using Hightail for a couple of years now and I have NEVER once had a problem with the service and most importantly I've never had a client have any issues whatsoever. That is VERY important in my field.
It's easy to use and I can get the job done very very fast.
There is nothing that I can say on this one. I like everything about it.

From the moment I started using it I quickly got rid of Dropbox and the other services and haven't looked back. It just works and is very reliable.
The ease of moving files in and out of the hightail cloud.
I would like more customization. Reoder how my files appear by dragging them.

I can send large files to people securely with little effort. I don't need to send large often so I use the free version and it fulfills all my needs regarding document management at this time.
luckily I'm able to get by with the free version because the price structure is a bit too high.
