Almost everything.. progress tracker... effort tracker... pricing.. proposals
There is nothing like excel.. just like everything .. macros.. inbuilt functionalities..
It gets into memory issues if a lot of formulas are added.

Gives me an easy to use platform to keep track of time cards and track installs.
Ease of use. I use it for my time cards and daily install tracker. Couldn’t be easier. I can modify my columns if I need to and it’s easily programmable.
I can’t think of anything I don’t like.

I use excel in my current position as a logistics/media associate and it has been a wonderful data tracker.
When it comes to track financials, counting or categorizing, Excel is a must.
The user ability could be more intuitive.

I think like most, I've used excel for a long time. However, over time as I've learned the tricks and shortcuts, it has become a more useful tool in my main role as a project manager.
It takes a while to figure out how to best use this software, but it does it's job as a data tracker well

I definitely recommend Excel to anyone who likes organization (whether for your daily/monthly finances, tracker for your daily tasks, list and graphs!).
I love Excel to handle and control your finances, or to use it for habits tracker or even for lists and graphs!
For huge databases, Excel will not be the best option, since it becomes very heavy and it can crash sometimes.

We mostly use Excel for budgets. I used to use Excel for all of my accounting (in an incredibly rough format.)
I like that my colleague can create spreadsheets where we all input budget numbers and it automatically calculates our billable rates and markups and all that. Easy peasy. I track my time in Excel because I haven't found a time tracker that works the way I want it to...just a simple add-it-up list of everything I've done!
I can barely use it, even after years of trying...it seems you just need either a very analytical mind or some sort of class to really get the hang of it. I keep screwing things up by adding a hyphen that gets misinterpreted as a subtract sign; etc. I know Excel is capable of much more than what I am capable of doing with it!

Overall, I have had minimal issues with Excel. The main hiccup comes from attempting to add new functionality to an Excel document that I have never implemented before, but as mentioned earlier, there are several methods of support to be found.
Excel can serve the most basic of needs - such as creating a simple spreadsheet - to the very complex, such as a macro-enabled data tracker that allows trend analysis over time and from multiple users. It can even link with external software to increase its functionality. It is an incredibly versatile and multi-functional tool.
In order to perform some of the more intricate tasks in Excel, there is a steep learning curve. There is so much functionality that mastering it all is no small feat. However, there are a lot of very accessible tutorials and additional support from both the Microsoft website and other Excel users.

Excel is one of those pieces of software that you think you know everything about, but then find out something new when working with it. It is unbelievably robust and is able to handle everything from a small spreadsheet to a cross-document dynamic finance tracker. The interface is also extremely intuitive.
I don't have too many cons with this software. It has treated me very well these last few years.

I've been using Excel from my collage up to now, it means more than 10 years. Still I couldn't find any better substitute which can replace Excel. Now I use Excel at both my work and also for my personal stuff. All the formulas, pivots, connections are really helpful for the business use. Same time I use Excel for my personal purposes such as an expense tracker and a budget planner. If you can become an expert on Excel its gonna really help you to build your confidence at work and also to do your work faster than the others. All Time Best Spreadsheet Software.
Well, I would just say Everything, but to more specific, I really love to work in the Excel by using short keys, it helps you to speed your work. Then it would be the formulas and the most useful would be vlookup/hlookup. Those are the things which makes my life easier on a daily basis. I usually don't even open the calculator no matter how simple the calculation is, it will always be Excel. Also I really love the Pivots and tables which are really cool, accurate and nice. Also everything can be customized in the exact way we wanted. Same time its very secure, you can protect the worksheet or the book. Having all these great features I use Excel even for any documentation needs instead of Word.
Am just a normal user who used Excel at work and also for my personal analysis/documentation purposes. But I'm not an Excel pro who knows Macro and all that. Hence this software satisfies all my needs, so I cant think of any cons at the moment provided that I don't even get the maximum out of this amazing software. The only issue I have here in Excel is there is no inbuilt auto correction or a grammar, spell checker. I know we can always use F7 for that but it would be great if it is possible to underline the missed spell words by the the time we are typing them.

I use Excel daily. infact most of the day. I use excel to 1) update the daily work tracker which helps me to track my progress. 2) Access and manage project data, which is the main requirement of the work. 3) I can manage the Expenses in excel 4) leave plans of the team. 5) create some pivot charts....
With Excel, we can update and share the project trackers at the same time so that working in a group is easy. Using VBA with excel much more can be done and repeated tasks can be automated easily which saves time and money.
Sometimes while sharing the Excel workbooks, its difficult to reflect the saved data which is the only thing I think that has to be updated.

I have used excel in my own personal live to my business. It is the jack of all trades program. I have used in presentations, Sales pitches, as personalised Calculators and so much more. There is not a day that goes by that I do not use a spreadsheet in excel.
I love the use of templates that we get with Excel it helps anyone who starts out with the program. I use the uncountable number of things you can do with it and how well it works with the other Programs of the Office suite. I use it as a Sales tracker, and I love the mathematical functionality of the program.
I would recommend doing a course on Excel and its Features because it could get a bit overwhelming finding features and figuring out where to do what.

Whether you need to organize, create, manage, analyze or do anything really with data, Microsoft excel is the only way to do it. It ranges from the simple data tracker to complex pivot tables. You can search for anything you want with the tables you create and also easily manipulate your lists in any way. It really is the perfect took for analyzing data.
It gets complicated sometimes if you want to do specific things. However, there is a plethora of online tools that will teach you everything you need to know about Excel

Overall, if you are willing to pay for a little Microsoft excel is by far the best spreadsheet software there is. It can do so much, its easy to you, and worth every penny. If you are going to use it often - I recommend taking a Microsoft class locally.
My favorite part about excel is the the formulas. You can put a formual in and it spits out the answers right in the box on all the lines. You can copy and pastes the formulas to make it easier. Also, I love that you can use the templates. I use it at work for invoices, client, monies, and for personal use such as budgets, weight tracker, passwords, etc.
There is actually so much you can do with excel that i think they need a walk through or a class built right into the software. I took a class on excel, and there is still soo much I am not sure it can do. One thing, I dislike is when you copy and paste. If the box is not blinking its not copied - and it can get complicated. Also, I think Microsoft excel is a bit pricey.

We use Excel frequently to organize data and illustrate our business needs. There are so many robust features that makes this an industry leading tool. One of my favorites is the formulas which can be used to easily manipulate multiple rows. One of my favorite implimentations I've seen is someone from our company that made a PTO tracker. You could enter the time off you took in the corrisponding pay period and it would keep track of how much PTO you had left for the year, how much you currently had saved, and how much would roll over into next year. Excel is a fun tool with endless possibilities.
Robust spreadsheet tool that offers numerous features. Scales to just about any size to store most data needs. The formulas are easy to use once you learn them and they're super powerful for running calculations in your database. Lots of formatting tools to clean up the look and feel of your spreadsheet. Easily the industry's best spreadsheet tool.
Using formulas, one of Excel's strongest features, requires a little training to learn and if you make a mistake Excel doesn't have an easy way to tell you what you did wrong. If you're a novice there are probably way more features in Excel than you need and will use which can clutter up the user interface.

It’s a powerful software with infinite tools to help anyone who uses it. Excel has helped me in my job, in school projects and research and to control my household expenses. It’s a 10.
Excel is a powerful software, I’ve never seen any better substitute. This software is easy to use in any area (school, engineering, time management, medical research, home budget tracker). What I like most is its user friendly interface for new users who want to create a quick spreadsheet for almost anything. And not only the options and templates offered from Microsoft are available, one can download other options from the online community (be careful to make sure it’s a reliable source). For beginners who want to print out a simple calendar or want to control their expenses, Excel will help them within 3 mouse clicks. For engineers this is a must-have and must-know software that is simple and has the tools an engineer needs.
As I’m a daily user, I know I don’t know everything that I can do with this software. One thing that I complain is that it could have an algorithm-like interface to make the cells iterate with more ease. Sometimes I wish I could write a formula to calculate from cell A2 and make it run automatically for a cell A(2+x) but I still couldn’t make it.

We use it on a daily basis here for keeping up with our environment.
Time over time Microsoft enhances the abilities of Excel without alienating the prior user base. New features and functions are built in and it has become more powerful over time.
Cost is usually the barrier to entry for Excel or Microsoft Office in general.
