Pros

I love the advanced security & ease of use with this program (once I figured it out LOL). The cloud based business applications make a world of difference.
It's another game changer for us (most of us work from home). The way everything fits together is awesome and having MS Teams at the centre of it all is brilliant.
Very positive experience - any successful business would find significant efficiencies and opportunities by moving to 365.

Pros

Gmail is a smart-looking, simple and reliable software. It has stronger spam-detecting features than some of its competitors and is, on the whole, user friendly and intuitive.
I love that I can sync across all devices and have my photos and documents attached to one account. Gmail is the best email provider because of its simplicity and ease of use.
It is the best way to connect with others by using gmail chats. It has the one more thing that gmail give space to save our files or doc or any thing else which is very good in this application.

Cons

I hate, hate, hate, hate the fact that you cannot install each app on its own. It is pointless to force people who only need Excel or Word to install EVERYTHING.
This is the sort of thing the hard drive resident application never struggled with. Conditional formatting layered up is the sort of thing that causes problems.
Sometimes i get logged out and have trouble logging back in. This is very rare but can be confusing and upsetting as everything is on there.

Cons

Can easily be hacked if your phone or laptop is lost. Hard to recover if forgot password.
There is also no customer support for Gmail so if you have an error or problem you are on your own which can be frustrating at times.
The problems of receiving mails because it is connected to google, the lack of offline is a discomfort for my side.

The Most Essential product I use

Reviewed 2 years ago

I have been using different versions of Office 365 since, well, forever. It has been always the default system since I began to use computers, so one really important point is how familiar I am with products such as Word. Office 365 is a very good service because, on the basis of the traditional good products, Microsoft was able to upgrade the usability and the interactivity. Now it is even easier to use and the cloud makes it extremely helpful wherever I go.

Pros

-Office 365 has everything I need on my daily job: Word, Excel, PPT... They are programs I use almost every day at the University while writing papers or preparing lectures. -Easy to use -Constant updates on the product -Since five or six years, it has a good cloud service.

Cons

-Outlook can't compete with Gmail. -Customer Service could be better

Always at hand with your documents

Reviewed 2 years ago

My professional life is reflected in documents, price lists, quotes, presentations of our products for sale, management reports, customer database, each and every one of these are edited and shared through this application or through One Drive, this greatly facilitates my marketing management since I can do it from the cell phone or tablet even before arriving at the office. I save a lot of time, I can also edit and send them quickly without diminishing the professional character that this entails.

Pros

It is an application of essential use, especially if you must attend meetings outside the office, make presentations to customers, make any type of document either in Word, Excel or PowerPoint and send it via email with a few clicks or store them to then manage them through the service in the One Drive cloud.

Cons

I would like to have more integrations such as let integrate Gmail

Good tool but can be great

I find it overall a good product and I can't imagine myself working without this app.

Pros

Calendar sync is really an awesome feature which I use everyday, I can rely on the calendar to update automatically according to invites I received even if I miss any which is a really nice feature. And also I am a big fan of Word.

Cons

Email filtering and tracking should be improved from what I can tell Gmail is far superior in this one.

OFFICE 365 is fabulous

Reviewed a year ago

I can't imagine working with any other software. Hands down better than Google documents. It's easy to use and if you need help you can easily find it online.

Pros

I like that I can get it work with my AS400 software. Allowing me to do spreadsheets and send information to customers without wasting a ton of paper. I also like that I can share my files with others in my network.

Cons

I wish it intertwined with all products including Google. My only issue is Outlook working with my Gmail documents.

Excellent product mix and connectivity

Reviewed 4 years ago

Extensive user collaboration suites as well as familiar interfaces across operating systems.

Pros

I like the way the apps interact with each other and the fact that they can be downloaded to my systems or used online. Having 1TB of cloud space in OneDrive simplifies things tremendously. Likewise, being able to download and use the apps on my Android phone ensures that when I need something, it is available. Last year, I implemented Office365 for Education in the school where I serve as Director of IT. For all of my users, whether using Windows or IOS, the transition was nearly seamless. We also offer this to our students and teach them office productivity skills utilizing Office365 apps.

Cons

I prefer the web user interface for gmail over Microsoft Outlook. Nevertheless, Outlook provides most of the same features, just presented differently.

Ease of desk top and on the go communication management!!!

Reviewed 5 months ago

I prefer to use this for our office instead of using Gmail as we can communicate directly and I feel that it is more professional.

Pros

Microsoft 365 gives you the capability to manage your emails and documents via a computer or smart device. It is great for those of us who are constantly in an office that is fast pace and on the move. It those moments when a document needs to be sent somewhere in the next 15 minutes and you are not next to your computer but you have your smartphone or device in front of you. Just upload and send.

Cons

Depending on the smart device you own Outlook 365 integration can be a little tricky especially if you are using an IMAP or POP server. But if you are aware of this and know all of the server diagnostic information you should be able to bypass any issues.

Market Leader

Reviewed 6 months ago

Overall the software is easy to install, easy to use. The activation rubbish can make it difficult sometimes but for the most part most people can work out how to install office and get working on it pretty quickly.

Pros

Market Leader in office software. This is the product others rate themselves against. It's slick, works well and is polished. Word, Excel and PowerPoint are all must have pieces of software.

Cons

Outlook sucks. It's outdated and often has issues. I don't use it and prefer a web based client like Gmail or outlook OWA.

Perfect for its email & calendar online integration

Reviewed 3 years ago

It is better than Gmail, as it has a more business-oriented approach. Love how it knows to ask me if I haven't forgotten to attach a file when sending an email that has "attachment" in it.

Pros

I use it continuously throughout the day as my primary email client and scheduling software (calendar). I like the fact that it has everything I need to receive and send emails plus schedule appointments/events. You can also access it from any device thus platform-independent. I do have Outlook installed on the computer, but I prefer to use the online client as I'm used to it now and think it's faster.

Cons

The beta version of the email client is still not very good in comparison with the older version. But I'm confident they'll take into account the feedback we provide.

Trade-offs with every software

Reviewed 7 months ago

Overall, Microsoft 365 is top-quality. It's the features that are important to me that have turned me to Gmail. Even so, I strongly suggest that anyone test multiple platforms to test which offers features most valuable to you.

Pros

Functionality for organizing email folders is the best I've experienced compared to other email platforms.

Cons

A make-it or break-it negative characteristic of Office 365 is the inability to be logged in to multiple accounts and easily go among them like Gmail offers. This issue alone has strongly secured Gmail's dominant use in my business and personal life.

Office 365

Reviewed 3 years ago

These are not cheap accounts. They are quite expensive and I don't see them being worth the money when a service like gmail is free and highly functioning. Nevertheless, I do have 3 accounts with them and use them weekly.

Pros

I like that it is so well used by universities, businesses, coorpoations. I literally have 3 office365 accounts - one each for the 2 universities I adjunct teach for and one for a business I am a part of.

Cons

The part I do not like about office 365 is the same reason why I like it. Soemtimes the accounts get confused together- the wrong things will load in each account since my username is the same or similar for multiple ones.. first initial last name ect. I am constantly having to sign out and back in to see mail from a different company- and so I have just defaulted to using my gmail account and checking mail from these 3 emails once a week. I STILL haven't discovered how to forward mail from an Office 365 to my gmail account. If I could do that, I would never check these accounts.

Office 365 in an Accounting environment

Reviewed 2 years ago

When your only real competition is G Suite it,s pretty easy to own the market and just rest on your laurels. But Microsoft's business suite always seems to be one step ahead and as reliable a product as you can find.

Pros

Word, Excel, and Powerpoint are as good on this version as they've ever been. One drive is getting better and i'm glad there's a link directly to it.

Cons

My one and only issue with the new 365 is the hassle it takes to link gmail accounts to the Outlook program. I'm not sure if that is Google or Microsoft's fault, but it is incredibly difficult to navigate the settings, and security features to link the 2 together. If i wasn't an everyday user and an IT specialist I would never have been able to setup my Gmail account. This version of Outlook seems to have a lot of bugs in it that i hope they can fix.

It’s a phenomenal suite of software that is invaluable to any job where you have to use a computer to communicate with others.

Pros

I love this packaged software suite. I use outlook, excel, and word every single day for my job and it makes my life so much easier.

Cons

Nothing really bad to say about it, I think word does a phenomenal job and is pretty much the bests software out there for writing a document. Outlook is good, offered more functionality than Gmail. Excel is unparalleled especially if you can come even close to mastering it.

Office365 is Getting Better by the Day!

Reviewed 3 years ago

Full Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, Business Email, OneDrive, Encrypted email, etc, all in one very affordable package! It's the most easy to justify business expense today!

Pros

The subscription model keeps your installed version of Office always up to date. Also, instead of awkward email syncing between devices, exchange email syncs all changes between all devices flawlessly. Also, Office365 integrates with many business and professional software.

Cons

Honestly, the subscription model. Knowing that you'll be paying Microsoft for Office and Email for the rest of your business life. Especially with products like GMail and LibreOffice, etc, it can be a tough sell to justify, yet, for businesses, it's a must have and the uptime is exceptional.

Great suite of products for every office or personal business need you may have basically

Reviewed 10 months ago

Very good. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they have good integrations, apps and cover every use-case I needed - be it personal, educational or business.

Pros

Good for every use-case - business, personal, educational or otherwise, you get a great suite of products, from cloud storage to document, spreadsheets and slides - at a world-class level. Really, it's a great product with good integrations and apps in every platform!

Cons

More expensive than GSuite (now Google Workspaces), since they offer a nice free tier, and have integrations with Gmail and Google Drive, which are far more used than the Microsoft alternatives (Outlook.com and OneDrive, respectively), but you get a lot more out of Microsoft 365 than the Google alternative, if you _are_ paying.

Most Important Software I Use

Reviewed 3 years ago

Using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word have made my daily life much better by making me more efficient in my daily tasks. The best part is 365 is used by pretty much every company out there and compatibility is usually never an issue.

Pros

The one thing you can say about Office 365 is that I use it every single time I get on my computer. There is not another software that I use more. No matter which company I have worked for, it's pretty much used there. If you have a question, there is someone near you that probably knows the answer. If not, there is so much information online and YouTube that it's not necessary to call tech support.

Cons

The only part I don't enjoy using is Outlook. I prefer Gmail for a lot of reasons, but the most important one to me is the lack of stacking of an email trail. Other than that, I really like the other parts of the suite. Excel has become so much easier to use with every upgrade.

All the applications any organisation needed for daily use in one platform.

Reviewed 2 years ago

In the initial stage, we started using O365 globally with Skype for Business and Sharepoint Online only but after sometimes we realized that it comes with multiple other applications such as Exchange, Mobile Device Management ( Intune), Azure Active Directory and other office applications (Excel, word, etc). So little by little, we are planning to use 100% of O365 features. At the moment we are using...

Pros

Easy to access from anywhere in the world if you have an internet connection. Possible of access online and edit or change any documents (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Can access from any device to your account. Skype for Business or MS Teams can use as a Video/Audio Conference tool. O365 comes with Microsoft Intune which helps to manage your organization's mobiles and Portable devices( ex.IPADs). Sharepoint Online helps you to create own Website to share documents, updates, etc within an organization or with external parties. O365 is one of the greatest solution provided by Microsoft for any Organization which will cover at least 80% of the most needed applications in one platform.( Based on the licenses you purchased.)

Cons

Microsoft Intune limitation to setup Emails on an Android platform using a Fully managed profile when you have a none third party exchange platform that is not connected to Exchange Online. Only "Gmail" and "Ninework" works with Intune Android emails. New Sharepoint Online some features complex compared to the previous version for users who used to the previous version.

It's an OK product compared to Google Drive

Reviewed 5 months ago

Had to use it because the org uses it, but switching from Google Drive is a true pain. Sharepoint integration helps a little, providing additional features such as a quick preview of the doc without opening it, but it's rarely used. It's definitely a functional solution, but feels a bit outdated compared to other solutions on the market. The only silver lining is Outlook - that app is still much easier to use than Gmail.

Pros

1. Very easy learning curve, if you ever used MS office - similar interface, similar functions 2. Good syncing capabilities with a local machine 3. High security standards 4. Outlook is still the industry leading email solution, especially for work

Cons

1. While the actual offline app and its online versions look very similar, there are small differences that are incredibly annoying (the online app would say "can't do that, please download and edit offline). For example, in the online Word there's no option of adding shapes, so in order to include any kind of charts/graphics, need to use other SW, take a screenshot of that and paste into Word. Very suboptimal. 2. Slow - long documents load slowly, don't jump to the last location. It's the little things... 3. Sharing is weird, it's hard to know which people have editing vs viewing access and how to grant those.

Good, but missing a few key features

Reviewed 3 years ago

Office 365 and Google Suite should be the two options for any business looking for these services. Personally I've found Google to be a slightly better fit, but Office 365 is a very good choice as well.

Pros

Really good integration with a variety of devices. We use this on phones, tablets, online and through desktop software and there is almost seamless integration. There are a variety of services available and you can signup your company for only the products you will be using.

Cons

The email (Outlook) software seems to be missing some vital features. On problem is that you cannot send emails from 'alias' accounts. This is a feature easily available in even the free version of Gmail. Support could be better. They usually respond within 24 hours, but often times are unable to answer the question and it takes multiple calls with different people to get an answer.

Office, how far you have come!

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

I am a complete Gmail snob and Microsoft snub. I still take issue with some of the disingenuous behavior the Windows team has built into 8 and 10, and will tell it to anyone who will listen. Office365, however, now that's got to be a different Microsoft. An IT managers dream, Office is a whole Exchange backend, versioned and wrapped in a nice, thoughtful UI. I highly recommend the new Office365, simple licensing and easy experience.

Cons

Office Mac still announces incoming updates with a splash at a random time no matter what important thing you are working. And since the MS team is intent on pushing out cool new features, this seems to happen waaaaay too often. Come on, Microsoft, we are past 2010, the era of popup notification is over.

MSFT Office 365 Review

Reviewed a year ago

I don't use it as an full-office suite of services, but do use Excel, Word and PowerPoint daily. I cannot be without those tools! I have been a Microsoft user since the 1980's.

Pros

All the main tools I use daily are in one suite - Excel Word, PowerPoint, and in the past Outlook for my email.

Cons

However, since all the software I use was loaded onto my laptop, installing Office 365 was confusing and unnecessary. Skype is the lest useful tool of the suite, and more challenging than other software (such as GoToMeeting, Glance, or Google Hangouts for quick connecting and communicating). Installing Outlook, and using it, requires a lot more IT experience than the usual person has, and if you are a single-operator, you are stuck with the easy-to-use services such as Gmail, Yahoo, or locally provided services.

Office 365

I've really enjoyed using Office 365. I like the addition of Microsoft Office applications, and how shareable those are, and I also like being able to easily send larger files between my co-workers.

Pros

It took me a while to acclimate to Office 365's formatting, but after a while, it's become my preferred emailing format. I, personally, like that they have the word next to the symbol, so I don't have to guess what folder I'm clicking on. I've also enjoyed being able to send larger file sizes than I could with my Gmail account. Great for business. I've also enjoyed having Microsoft applications with it. It's like a Google Doc, but with applications you're more familiar with.

Cons

I've had a few issues with Office 365, but they only happen once in a blue moon; like once a year. I've had it stop updating unknowingly, and not received important emails in a timely fashion. Once, I had half of my folders wiped, but I feel like that may have been part of being hacked.
