n/a - google docs
The ability to have office programs on all my devices without having to pay extra was nice. Wish there was an all in one app that does it all. That might improve the user experience.
As mentioned in title Google docs is free and does the same thing minus an email client. The price plans per year are fair over buying the office suite every year but this day in age there are other alternatives than using this product

Back in the 90's we paid a lot of money to Microsoft to buy this software and is enabled our business to produce professional documents, excellent spreadsheets and to make professional presentations in an easy to use and efficient manner, when it didn't crash and lose all if the work that we did. Now we use Google Docs which I believe does the job far better and for free!
It does some of the things that Google Docs does.
Collaboration isn't as good as Google Docs, Access to your docs isn't as good as google docs. Without Google search, the find documents feature is inferior to Google Docs. This software is very expensive. What I don't understand is why pay to make the richest man in the world even richer, when you can do all of this faster, more efficiently and better in Google Docs for FREE?

I've enjoyed using Office 365 for business & personal purposes for over a decade! I just recently installed 365 on my brand new laptop and I'm very pleased with the simple sign-up & installation process.
I like how Office 365 integrates Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. into one easy-to-use, affordable package.
Sometimes formatting from Google Docs/Word Docs is goofy and doesn't keep bullet points in line.

It's a great product packed with all the tools like docs, sheet, powerpoint which is needed in daily life but since free apps like google docs are available, I have started moving towards google things.
- Super tool for making presentation with hell lot of feature and options. - excel feature is very powerful and allows you to any kind of manipulation over any type of data.
- since google docs, sheet comes with free license , more people have started to use google docs, sheet. - sometimes it's complicated to use this app especially excel.

Excellent bang for the buck, as it includes 1tb OneDrive and Skype. It is almost the same price of 1tb Dropbox or Google Drive, but includes full-fledge Microsoft Office suite.

Team collaboration is essential to having multiple people providing input to the same document to meet deadlines for school and work projects. Emailing copies of a Word or Excel file back and forth does not cut it anymore compared to this software.
This software makes team collaboration on document super easy as multiple people can edit and view documents at the same time. Having the files stored in the cloud also enables easy access from multiple computers or my mobile device.
Revision control is a little bit worse than Google Docs because Google Docs makes it easier to see what content is added in each modification of the document.

Honestly, I prefer google docs and its free.
ideally it allows you to share and store documents within an organization making it much easier to work together
the feature to have multiple people using and editing a document at once often doesn't work for us. Some of our staff have had issues with making changes and then the document not syncing, so the rest of the staff cant see the changes they made. this is a little better if you are logging in to the online portal, but when you are using the desktop to access we have had a lot of issues.

I like that there are so many apps that I can use with this software. I also like that I can log in online and access it from any computer. My high school provides Office 365 for us for free.
It is more inconvenient to use than google docs and google applications. With google, it is already linked to my email.

Great and trying to compete with google docs/sheets etc.
Excel speaks for itself. It is the goto for data crunching. Word and templates are must use on daily basis. I just started using Notes and syncs up to my phone. needs a little more polishing.
Excel is very complex and has quite a learning curve. I would like notes to be able to sync with calendar and events and better ways to organize and create lists. It's still a bit clunky of a UI.

Office 365 is a product I rarely use now because Google Docs is far superior in my opinion. Office 365 is by no means a poor product, it just has not caught up to Google Docs yet.
This is the cloud based version of Microsoft Office that makes it much easier to collaborate in real time.
Unfortunately, Office 365 is trying to play catch up to Google Docs and is not nearly as easy to use but it is also missing many of the features Google Docs offer.

This software isnt my favorite. It seems like microsoft really just threw this out there in order to have a competitive state with others. However, it does have online functionality so it is not necessary to download an app.
I don't like how this is a competitor with google docs. I feel like google docs is much easier to use with functionality. There are many bugs in this system and much more complicated.

I have been using Google Suite for years but due to work have started using Office 365 and have found this new version of Office to be fairly easy to use.
Lots of features and makes it easy to collaborate with others. While the Office products have been around for a long time they have not always facilitated collaboration. Office 365 makes it easy to create and share documents where others can collaborate and work on them with you.
Can be pricey compared to other options such as google docs and sheets.

My overall experience with Office 365 has been positive but again, the fact that there's software out there that is free is slowly going to make me transition over soon.
I love how Office 365 is basically the ubiquitous application out there for word document and excel spreadsheets. I've purchased this for my company AND my family.
The biggest con is the price. Office 365 is just getting to expensive when there are other alternatives, like Google Docs for instance. Not only is Google docs a great alternative, but it's also FREE...

This software includes the basics of what we all learned word processing on. Nice to have Office 365 when I receive a doc that others have created in Word or Excel and I need to open it.

Microsoft Office has been the pentacle of office software for a long time. Word, Excel, etc are all very good and are used in professional environments all over the world.
The collaborative editing of documents cannot come close to Google Docs in this area. Google Docs has that down 100%. They lead the market in this area. Collaborative editing in Office is a royal pain in the neck.

I'm a pro excel user and use this for so many automated reports. I can load all of our sales data and have excel automatically pull the sales made per salesperson and calculate the commission. It's fantastic.
Google docs is hot on their tail and they are starting to lose the value of the money for most users. Unless you need advanced functions or mail merge, google docs and sheets will likely fulfill your needs

- Backed by Google and fact its free and open source - Web based & also works seamlessly on Android & IOS - Great Syncing capabilities as well as allows for multiple users to work on a document at the same time. - Cloud hosted so it scales very well for large corporation as well.
- Integration with Microsoft Outlook is very poor there organizations that are Microsoft shops seldom use Google docs and instead prefer Office 365

Although Google Docs lacks many capabilities typically offered in Microsoft Office 365, I use this powerful free software to collaborate in real-time with friends and associates and have never had any issues.
Great tool for those that do not own Microsoft Office with an ergonomic design. Not to mention it is free to use and easy for collaboration and sharing with my business associates and friends. Seamless export with a variety of format options.
Less efficient than desktop-based software. Does not include many features supported in Microsoft Office 365.

Instead of waiting for an email or other document with someone's input, Google Docs allows other users to make notes, changes and more to an existing document once the original user allows it. Easily keep track of what changes are made by whom. Best of all, it's free! Work on the same project at the same time.
Microsoft 365 offers some features that Google Docs doesn't, but overall it's a valuable piece of software.

Overall, I highly recommend Google Docs for tasks that do not require many collaborators but not high levels of security.
Google Docs is a wonderful way to create, edit, and share documents between multiple people. Easy to format, search for a document, and share.
Unlike other platforms, such as DocuSign and Microsoft 365, there are not many security features that allow for secure document sharing.

It helps me write, edit, and organise documents.
Google Docs is extremely easy to get into. Any user with a Google account can open a document and begin editing. It has many of the basic features you'd need.
On the other hand, Google Docs isn't quite a perfect replacement for Microsoft Word. It lacks some of the advanced features and ease of use. And Microsoft has now added automatic syncing with Office 365.

First of all it's in the cloud. This and it's versioning feature and online recycle bin makes it resilient to local virus treats. If the local servers are hit all you need to do is get the internet and wifi backup and all your chromebooks are good to go! It's also easy to monitor for inappropriate use. It also integrates into google classroom well.
It's not as feature rich as Microsoft Word especially in Office 365 but it makes up for this in price and ease to use.
