As a teacher I use it for classes. Students love it. Much better than powerpoint. You can drag people inside your point of view, literally! That is pretty interesting to make things more dynamic.

Prezi definitely gives you the opportunity to think outside the box in ways that PowerPoint doesn't (at least not without investing serious learning and effort). But in the end, especially if you have to make presentations all the time, I'm not sure the visual niceties are worth the extra effort.

Makes really beautiful presentations, but often feels more gimmicky than useful

Overall, I have enjoyed my experience with Prezi Business. Once I figured out how to seamlessly blend the visual and the collaborative, with the educational components, my experience with Prezi was flawless. 

Powerpoint's Vibrant Cousin

The program had such an impact on students.  They stated many times how they finally understood the concept presented.  In medicine, subjects like the cell, are not easily understood since the subject is presented in a picture format.  Changing the format to an interactive 3d visual allowed the students to grasp how complex the cell is and what pathophysiology was affecting the patient. There were many "a-ha" moments. Great program!

Prezi is the newest and most dynamic element that I apply to make interactive presentations.

A tool that should not be abused for use

I've been using  the free version for educators. I've made 4 or 5 prezis most of which were for educational or academic purposes. I also used it once to prepare a birthday surprise for one of my friends. I used our photographs together and made a heart shape with them. In addition, I used it to advertise a piece of art by me. My purpose was to sell it online but I could not.

Prezi is great

After 4 years of using the software and more than 100 Prezi created, here are my pros and cons :

1 / easy software to use for a professionnal of graphic industry but mostly discouraging for others.
2/ lack of possibility to develop add-in is a big cons
3/ lack of professionnal graphic designs or material is a real restraint for french users
4/ the new file classification is somehow very confusing (i.e. the persistent "conflict detected" between the online and the desktop version)
5/ video integration is very quick and easy
6/ regarding the support and the messages transmissions, the repetitive changes in the way to communicate with experts has led us (Egg3) to "abandon" communicating with the group (mail, then socialcast, the ning...)
7/ I wish we had more concrete opportunities to brainstorm with Prezi people since we have a lot of ideas but lack, at our level, the opportunity to transform them into reality
8/ Wish for 3D files to be accepted someday
I could go on and on for hours about Prezi since we are working most of our time with this software but I wish I had real Prezi people to talk with, not a survey where 3 bricks are at disposal (I know I complain a lot, sorry I'm French ;)
But I really love Prezi software for one mere thing : everytime we show a Prezi creation to prospects or even clients for the first time, you can see this light in their eyes that tells you "thanks for getting me out of my routine for a while". Hope this helps. Would love to develop more collaborative projects with other experts or with Prezi guys. Feedbak ain't my thing. Bye

My experience is excellent, but at presentations which use Smartshow 3D the audience is amazed at the quality/ sophistication  of the product. Little do they know how easy it was to produce.
