Great Alternative to logmein rescue

Reviewed 2017-02-22
Review Source: Capterra

For what we used logmein rescue for this was an excellent replacement that added more functionality than we had, we trippled our user seats, and still saved money annually. I've been very happy with the product since we made the switch.

Pros
Low cost, works well, less lag and more functionality. Essentially a cheaper better alternative to logmein rescue

Cons
No way to control how to remote into remote clients, you can warn via message but people dont like that popping up. Some people have requested they would like a message to prompt allowing them the choice of permission before anyone can remote into their machine. Minor issue but only complaint I have received from end users.

Pros
ConnectWise Control is an extremely reliable piece of software and a great price. Switched from a cheap competitor after reviewing a few more well known and more expensive alternatives and very happy with our choice.

Cons
We occassionally have issues with UAC on Windows PCs, but maybe 1 in 100 connections and certainly not enough for us to consider switching.

Cheaper cost and better software.

Pros
Much cheaper than any other solution we have used. It is packed full of features and you can customize any aspect of the software to your liking. I set up notifications that when any of my client servers were offline for X amount of time I get an email. Very fast and responsive. Super easy to tell customers where to navigate to and get connect to their device.

Pros
Cheap with a nice logo. Works for the most part. Allows you a lot of hosts for a decent price.

Cons
The iOS and desktop apps are fairly horrible. Nothing stands out as being unique or saying they gave more than a passing glance at them. The Desktop app is just a client, not a way to select hosts, the iOS app is a repackaging of their website. On Mac, the command key hooks are not really enforced - "Apple + Q" doesn't work for example.

Cheap alternative to LogMeIn but you can see why it's cheaper

It's relatively cheap compared to other solutions and works well enough. Updating clients remotely is very easy.

Pros
It's much cheap than other solutions like LogMeIn. Once installed it's relatively easy to centrally update the unattended client installs. Did I say it was cheap compared to LogMeIn? I use it mostly for IT administration and have LogMeIn for end user remote desktop. We could afford to use LogMeIn on all our end points so we only use LogMeIn on user PCs and ScreenConnect on all devices including servers and user PCs.

Cons
The client isn't as polished or easy to use as LogMeIn. The screen resolution is low and doesn't have an easy way to change it to match the client PC. The interface isn't as easy to use as LogMeIn.

Easy of use, an affordable price extream reliability and great info on client machines without needing to log in

Pros
Quality of performance including performance in low bandwidth conduction and administrative power including without needed to open a session.

Cons
Pop-Ups at the tech level asking me to take surveys. When client enters a code in to the web portal they can not just hit the enter key but need to click the arrow. It would also be very nice if the client who was email a remote support link or clicks a link was able to run the program easier. It is very easy as it is but when dealing with the kind of people who needs support this can always be improved since we usually spend longer getting the software installed than using to fix client issues.

Fast, Reliable, Remote Access to my coworkers, at an affordable cost.

Pros
Speed is fantastic. easily 2x better then LMI Pro Quality is better than most. Latency is the ive ever used. Price, lowest cost from all Remote access products i've tested. Support Agents actually know the product

Cons
This is not a monitoring software, it provides only remote access. The 'scripting' support isnt real. It 'can' run bat scripts, but its painful to actually use. Plus no logging or reporting to know if it actually ran or not. The backend command prompt only allows for tasks that complete in under 1.1 seconds. Device information leaves much to be desired.

We love the software. Since the costs are low, we've been able to add more machines than we had in the past.

Pros
I switched from LogMeIn when they bumped their prices and I am very happy. ConnectWise Control is extremely reliable and a good value for the money. I have found the features to be just as good, if not better than LogMeIn and ConnectWise is available for a fraction of the price.

Cons
Sometimes it can be hard to find the feature you want when you are connected to a host. There are lots of menus, sub-menus, and options. It's great there are so many features, but sometimes it's hard to find what you want.

We support many customers and when a leading competitor raised their prices 10x overnight, we had to find a switch. ConnectWise at that time fit the bill very well and was in-expensive. While the price has increased since for the platform we use, there are also now low cost options for getting started with connect wise. Overall it is a very stable and feature rich platform for remote administration/support.

Pros
Ease of use, on premise installation option for self hosting.

Cons
Only really missing one feature in our opinion, which is the ability to include a secondary per-client password for at time of connection security.

We have been able to connect to franchise community much easier and provide quicker and more robust support for some of our franchise base that would have been limited with previous softwares. We also are able to maximize the value of the Control system because the pricing value is so good, we can afford to have more users than in previous brands.

Pros
We loved the pricing structure, the allowance for installed agents, ease of use for non-IT users. Also the simplicity of the system working with customers.

Cons
There isn't really anything to not like about Control. The ability to use the Meetings function to have a recurring Meeting/Training is something small but we don't really use it for that purpose anyways.
