This tool is an excellent knowledge base. This is the primary use for it that we have, and it does it perfectly.
It is a great great tool for creating documents like PRDs and Information Documents of Projects and then sharing with team members to view and collaborate.
Confluence is reliable and offers a good set of functionalities and features, the capacity to organize and edit documentation online is great.

Sometimes I have difficulties with formatting some of the tables as it is frustrating when it does not follow what you want it to do and it takes a while to correct the mistake.
Searching was severely handicapped, and no linking of documents was really feasible. There was also poor management of permissions.
Performance over the last 6 months has degraded and it's now really slow. The over-arching user management is really confused.

Pure joy! Amazing software

Pros

Confluence is fantastic software! I always found it very hard to manage and look for knowledge and documents in bigger organizations and Confluence solved all of the problems. Its full text search capabilities are great and it is superb easy to share the knowledge.

I really did not find any issues with Confluence to be honest

The overall experience with Confluence is very amazing.

Pros

The most amazing thing about this software is that it has an amazing inter operability communication and sharing service amongst an organisation. We can share anything from files to pictures in the software and can have our privacy in the organization.

Cons

Confluence is one of the best software. So, there is nothing to dislike in this software. The software will have more updates in features in future too.

Pros

This software is excellent at document generation and document management and we use it a lot, we also like how it fits so well with Jira.

Cons

The admin interface could do with a refresh to bring it up to date.

Confluence is a useful tool to manage software projects with requirements. When paired with Jira software, it is easier to manage issues and epics for software development.

I use Confluence as a the storage hub for all RCM software training documentation, client specific training documentation, interface and RCM software client specific documentation

Pros

I love the flexibility of creating and storing documentation for various subjects, the easy of storing the documentation in categories and sub-categories and the volume of documentation that can be stored within the application

Cons

I can't think of anything I didn't particularly like about Confluence. I use the software regularly and don't think of changing to another one for the usage described in the section below because of the flexibility Confluence is offering that I've been able to take full advantage of over the years

User friendly and good software and can multitask.

Pros

Condolence is more like a replacement for Excel spreadsheet, PowerPoint for me. Very good app and easy as you go.

Cons

Consumes battery a lot. Drains my battery more when I'm using the confluence. I wish it can be looked into.

If you are running software such as Jira, you can easily integrate and link your confluence documents. There are a ton of features for markup, which allow for visually stunning document creation.

Pros

The software allows you to easily setup and author documents. User roles will allow for restricting or allowing access to certain users or groups. Recent updates to the software have allowed for much easier editing of documents.

Cons

This software is definitely not cheap, but the features are quite robust. This is definitely enterprise software with an appropriate price tag

Cons

- Having used confluence for over 6 years, I have seen Confluence become more reliable with every update. At times, when something would go wrong with text formatting (bullet point indentation, for example), a power user could go to a tab of the document page you were working on, and edit the markup language of the page to correct the quirky formatting issue. This feature was removed. To the credit of Confluence, fixing such issues is less and less necessary, but power users like myself still miss it. - The permissions models can be confusing at times, even for highly technical people supporting the software. I do not think this is an issue with Confluence, but rather, a caution to administrators who approach permissions from different eco-systems.

We use it for documenting software releases, policies, procedures.

Pros

Integration options such as jira is seamless and easy. Live editing is amazing. I would say, it is the easiest way to collaborate with team. Exporting page in PDF option is really useful for offline purpose

Cons

Search option can be improvised. Searching for a topic gives you huge list of replies, which can be reduced. Expensive tool

Good collaboration Wiki software for people who want to keep track of everything in one place, especially if they use JIRA project management software for tighter end-to-end integration.

Pros

Good features in a Wiki that connect directly to the project management software JIRA. If you're looking for end-to-end system, JIRA and Confluence are a good combination. Easy to use and relatively easy to setup, most people can understand Confluence quickly. Organization is slightly easier and better to follow than Google Docs.

Cons

With Google Docs taking over the world, there's less of a need for Confluence and Wikis. Also, the features are "meh" for the price especially because Google Docs are free, or Google Apps come with lots of other products.

Cons

I find that it can be hard to navigate sometimes. The last time I used it, it took me a bit of time to get to where i need. But that really has more to do with how it was organzied.
