Pros

The beautiful interface and ease of use intrigues me and appears to be useful. It also has excellent tool management with an outstanding performance.
It is also a most widely used presentation software for a customer or a venue with the guarantee of not being rejected. Thus, an amazing tool that assures one with great experiences.
I just love how easy WPS Office is to use. It is much cheaper than Microsoft's 365, it is much more beautiful and user friendly than Open Office, and it is an all around great piece of software.

Pros

What I liked best was that it is free software and has a lot to do with application features that are currently only available in the paid application.
It is super easy to write, edit, and save documents. It's simple to use interface makes it so easy to write important documents.
I like that this program is free, and an alternative solutions for Microsoft office. People like that it works just like office does.

Cons

But sometimes firewall and IPS systems warn there may be a risk with those connections and this is a bit annoying. Further, the WPS spreadsheet application gets freeze from time to time.
One thing is that it takes a long to load while you are going to open the file. Its time wasting or irritating if you are in hurry.
It worked very hard, it blocked, it stopped and it gave me a lot of errors.

Cons

I quite dislike the lack of integrations with other products and apps like Microsoft Office does. It just makes your workflow sluggish.
My wife (long-term MS Word user with a Master's degree) struggled finding the functions she needed as opposed to how she did it in Word and got very frustrated.
There are some features are illogical and really hard to find. Opening word documents does not always work well and sometimes LibreOffice deforms the files.

WPS Office

Excellent replacement for MS Office and free

Reviewed 5 years ago

A great and performance-friendly package of office tools that can be used in the free version, unfortunately, the lack of environment localization discourages me from purchasing.

Pros

Speed, low requirements on computer performance, doesn't take up too much space. Very well arranged environment, which is also nicely colored. Excellent compatibility with native MS Office formats (better than LibreOffice). Mobile, tablet and desktop versions available for both Windows and Linux.

Cons

Localization to many languages is missing, including Czech.

WPS Office was the way to go on iPad!

Reviewed 2 years ago

I recommend it for mobile devices, since it's all-in-one, has a polished UI from years of development, and works offline. Go with an industry standard for desktop, though.

Pros

Back in 2014, Apple iWorks was paid software, Microsoft Office for iOS didn't exist, and WPS Office was the only office software available for the Apple iPad. It worked well as an on-the-go, all-in-one office suite.

Cons

It's Chinese software with advertising, and distributed mainly via app stores. Also, industry standards have moved on: Microsoft Office exists for all platforms, Apple iWorks is now free, and Collabora Office is the growing port of LibreOffice to mobile devices.

WPS Office

Nice alternative to Microsoft Office

Reviewed 5 years ago

We started to implement WPS Office at our company as several employees had troubles getting used to LibreOffice, as its interface is closer to the one in Microsoft Office. In our case, we started using it on our Linux computers as we were not happy with LibreOffice's performance and constant freezing problems.

Pros

WPS Office is easy to use, having a interface similar to Microsoft Office. It has the tools to make documents, spreadsheets and presentations, and in our case, it also has better performance than other free software such as LibreOffice when installed on Linux computers. It is also nice to know the software is constantly updated, and it is possible to run Microsoft Office's files just fine.

Cons

The ads can be a bit annoying, so we are limiting the amount of staff we are installing this software to avoid accidental clicking.

WPS Office

An excellent, little-known office program

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

I stumbled across this program when I installed a Chinese Linux distro on my computer. It had WPS Office preinstalled, and I was astonished at the quality of the software. While LibreOffice is often considered the best free office alternative, WPS actually has a bit of an edge over it. It looks clean, sleek, and modern. It's often called a clone of more mainstream office software. It also has a variety of great features and amazing compatibility with mainstream software.

Cons

Unlike free alternatives, WPS Office is not open source. Also, though there is a free version, some may not like that WPS offers a pro version paid. The website also implies there are ads.

WPS Office is a very good free open source office suite alternative

Reviewed 5 years ago

Whenever you think of an alternative office suite to MS Office, most people think of LibreOffice or OpenOffice (if you use Linux, thats a given). However, if you are coming from MS Office or simply editing documents originally created on it, WPSOffice is an alternative you should check. The UI is very similar to the one used by the MS Office and it has most of the features that most users will need. As far as I know, this is also the most compatible tool extension wise and, since a lot of people use MS Office, this is a major factor.

Pros

It is simple, direct to the point and if you are migrating from MS Office, the UI is very similar. It also offers most of the features that most users will need and, as far as I know, it is also very compatible with other office suites (extension wise) and, since not everyone will use the same office suite, being able to share documents without having to perform any adjusments is a major factor.

Cons

I haven't really found anything that I disliked to the point of pointing out as a negative aspect of the software. However, sometimes the grammar check sugestions are not accurate and I hope they improve it in the future.

WPS Office

It has all the basic features which are required for daily use. As its completely free so I love it

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

WPS is really great for Writer, Presentation and Spreadsheets. Compatibility is excellent, both in using the programs and handling files in the Office format. One feature that almost works and could be helpful is File Roaming, still marked beta. The idea is to save files from our desktop, laptop and mobile devices to personal cloud storage, then share those files between all devices. It saved files...

Cons

No collaboration beyond Track Changes and Comments; No grammar checking It shows pop ups on desktop without even informing the user in terms of use or while installing the program! Without this problem, I would definitely give it 5 stars for its perfect functionality, intuitive design and modern interface.

LibreOffice

The best free Office Suite

Reviewed 2 years ago

LibreOffice is a great substitute for MS Office if cost an issue. It's completely free software (and I believe it's open-source as well) that includes all of the features of the most expensive alternatives.

Pros

My favorite aspect of this software is the free price tag. It's an entire office suite almost on par with MS Office, with all of the same type of programs included.

Cons

It's not quite as user friendly as MS Office, or WPS Office for that matter.

Open source and Linux support on a great word processor

Reviewed 3 years ago

Overall, a great word processor and maybe the best for Linux users. Choosing free and open source can never go wrong so just try it and decide!

Pros

Just like any other word processor you can create documents, spreadsheets and slides etc. My main consideration was the user interface and features support. However, with a little tweaking, libre office got a quite modern look and does not lag behind paid or non-open source apps like Microsoft Office or WPS Office.

Cons

For newcomers from Microsoft Office it takes a little getting used to and also in order to support Microsoft fonts need one or two extra steps (since it is an open source app), but other than that there is not really any complaint for my use of the app.

LibreOffice

A growing open-source Office alternative

Reviewed 5 years ago

There was a decision to switch to a free solution to reduce costs, as all computers had Microsoft Office installed. We decided to install LibreOffice to the employees that didn't use the software or just a reduced amount of features.

Pros

LibreOffice is a complete solution for editing documents, spreadsheets and presentations, offering an cost-free alternative to paid alternative such as Microsoft Office. It does all the things you would expect even on a premium software, and there is a good amount of extensions for improving the overall experience (though it is still a bit in early phases compared to other open-source software). It is also fully compatible with OpenOffice files, however files made in Microsoft Office can be a bit of a lottery.

Cons

The interface has been a trouble for us, as several employees could not get used to. We also got performance problems on our Linux computers, leading us to switch to another alternative (WPS Office in this case). Despite its compatibility with Microsoft Office documents, we often got reclaims as the formatting wasn't showing correctly: images being broken in Excel documents, and a broken design for Word documents.

a great choice of office suite for windows if one can not pay for microsoft office.

Pros

LibreOffice is perhaps the best of the free/open-source office softwares. It includes all the important apps and features that a standard office suite should have. Unlike the other free office suites like Google docs/sheets etc or WPS office, libreoffice has no hidden charges and is actually available as windows software unlike Google's products. It has a decent looking user interface, and is very...

Cons

But the conns are that There are no versions for iPad or Android etc. No cloud intergation unlike Ms office whoch has free OneDrive Collaborate is way too much behind MS office or Google Docs etc. Because you still need to send the file to someone let them edit and then either accept or reject the changes unlike Ms office which let's real-time collaboration on documents It has only 4 softwares included in it. No alternative for Ms project, teams, Skype for business, onenote. No online version means it is not possible to access it anywhere (unless you download and install free of cost on windows PCs).

Not bad for Linux distributions

Reviewed 5 years ago

In some circumstances LibreOffice can solve your problem fully. If you have limited computer power or doing some simple office tasks LibreOffice would be best choice. In our case, some of our single board computers which is designated for simple tasks required to read and edit office files. But if your work needs advance office tasks with bigger files, i do not recommend this program.

Pros

Mainly in our work we are using Microsoft Office. But some of our single board computers running Linux and these computers running LibreOffice. Its good choice if you don't have so much computing power. Works good under Linux distributions. As open source program, community helpful for any type of problems. PDF exporting easy and readable of most common file types.

Cons

Main office works doable with LibreOffice, but advance office tasks cannot be done. Microsoft office perfectly supported with other Microsoft programs. So Microsoft Office much more productive if you are already in Microsoft environment. Under Windows works slow and not stable with bigger files.

I am using LibreOffice rather occasionally, mainly when I receive a document made in LibreOffice, when I need a portable solution for my text editing, or when I am using Linux. It is not bad, far from it! The Microsoft Office is just better (and it cost money).

Pros

- It is free - It is open source! - No login or account required. - It can be used on Linux - It is suitable for larger projects (quite stable) - It can be used as a portable app - After many years, there have been some needed improvements in the GUI recently! (Great!)

Cons

- It is just not as user-friendly as Microsoft Office - Still compatibility issues with Microsoft Office - Slow development

Pros

Pretty good alternative to Microsoft Office

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall, pretty good software and nice to have a free alternative for home and school use.

Pros

Overall, it does a very good job handling most office documents. Especially for home users, I think it would be easy to use this without paying for MS Office.

Cons

Not quite as powerful or ubiquitous as MS Office. For professional environment, I'd still prefer to use MS Office

Works, but not office

Reviewed 4 years ago

Libre office a basic office suite that does all of the basic things you would expect an office suite to do.

Pros

Libre office is simple to use and pretty basic which makes for a good user experience. It did most of what I needed it to do.

Cons

Libre office is very basic and lacks a lot of the features that I have come to know in Microsoft office.

Why would you ever pay for MS Office

Reviewed 6 years ago

The only time I open up MS Office is by mistake. Libre office is and has been my go-to office suite since the day I downloaded it. Very robust and a great, free, opensource replacement for MS Office. Highly reccomended.

Pros

-OpenSource -Ability to work with and export into various file types. -Robust word -Parity with MS Office -Smaller application footprint

Cons

-Sometimes the interface is not the most intuitive. -Although there is great parity between MS Office and Libre Office there are not many groundbreaking features being developed by the Libre office team.

LibreOffice

Free substitute for MS Office

Reviewed 2 years ago

I can help cater all the basic requirements which are expected from any Office application. If you are looking for something free then this should be your first choice

Pros

- Open source software which is free to download. - Provides updates - Functionalities provided are on par with Microsoft office. Hence a great alternative.

Cons

- Most of the people are used to MS office office hence initial level shifting to this application can be difficult. - User interface as not as clean as MS office and can sometimes seem messy
