Pros

What I like the best about Zimbra are its splendid storage volume and the mobile version. Our colleague has access to emails even when they are traveling or away from the office.
We can integration this suite with informative applications like Ted, IBM redbooks to view our daily feeds which is quite helpful for the people who are more interested in gaining knowledge.
I like the easy installation and the web administrative console which can be used for many admin tasks. The Desktop app is great and easy to use.

Pros

Very positive experience - any successful business would find significant efficiencies and opportunities by moving to 365.
I love how secure the platform is, the software is easy to navigate. I love the fact that it is accessable worldwide.
We utilize all that the product has to offer on a daily basis and are quite happy with the product. It helps us manage our business better and provides the tools necessary to communicate effectively.

Cons

The update processes are complex, since they must be done in a controlled environment, because they can produce an error and place the entire service offline.
Hard to customize the installation, lost data when I needed to migrate to another server. The API uses XML-RPC which is not easy to use, JSON is a lot easier.
The read messages do not drop down to low priority, so if I leave one unread so I can come back to it. The message gets buried in the inbox.

Cons

This is the sort of thing the hard drive resident application never struggled with. Conditional formatting layered up is the sort of thing that causes problems.
Sometimes i get logged out and have trouble logging back in. This is very rare but can be confusing and upsetting as everything is on there.
I hate, hate, hate, hate the fact that you cannot install each app on its own. It is pointless to force people who only need Excel or Word to install EVERYTHING.

Zimbra Collaboration Suite

Easy to use and full of features

Reviewed 4 years ago

I used Zimbra in my previous company and I liked the suite very much because it offered almost anything you'd need from an on-premise mail server. It also had some extra features like its own cloud support to share documents and files amongst users. The paid version also came with the connector for Outlook allowing users keep using their standard mail client application. I never had any issue to configure my email account on my mobile phones either through the MS Exchange protocol compatibility. It also comes with a rich web interface. Now it should also integrate a chat/conference and a document collaboration features but they were not available yet when I was using Zimbra so I can't tell anything about them.

Pros

Easy for the users It has its own cloud-like file sharing feature It works on almost any kind of device through standalone clients or rich web client.

Cons

Being Linux based it might be a bit harder to set-up and configure for Microsoft oriented admins

Free version lacks features and cloud (payed) version is too expensive

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

In the company we all remember Zimbra. It left us with a really good impression. It had nice features that other "better" ones don't have like batch mail forwarding or delayed email sending. I would use it again.

Cons

Unfortunatelly, it did not integrate well enough with our mobile devices (cellphones and tablets). We also faced a couple of database corruptions so we decided to think about going cloud version but....it was more expensive than GSuite or Office 365 so... we stopped using it.

Zimbra Collaboration Suite

Perhaps the worst productivity suite I've ever used

Reviewed a year ago

You can do better than Zimbra. Whether Google or Microsoft, go with a company that delivers a top-notch productivity experience and doesn't have any of the quality or customer support problems that Zimbra has.

Pros

When it worked, Zimbra provided our users with a decent experience that wasn't completely replicated once we switched away from it. There were certain features, like built-in RSS reader support, that other platforms don't have.

Cons

Zimbra has changed hands quite a bit over the years, and it isn't difficult to see why. Its quality control is abominable, for one. I lost track of the number of times our Zimbra environment went offline because of some obscure bug. Zimbra's documentation tends to be scattered, and when you do find it, you'll see that Zimbra makes its own little versions of every open source product it uses. Its customer service generally doesn't know what it's doing except for one guy, Rick, that I occasionally spoke with.

Light weight, Cost-effective & User-Friendly Web-Email Collaboration product

Reviewed 4 years ago

While working in previous organization, came across this web based product, specially due to its open source nature, and easier to learn. It helped a great deal in being up-to-date by tracking official mails. It has all the features that an basic web email client needs to have. Specially during the times we were connected to VPN, it used to easily work even in low or restricted network connectivity. It had easier and user-friendly User Interface, including refresh button, to force reload emails as per convenience.

Pros

1. Specially the optimized nature of it to work on limited or lower network connectivity like VPN, 2. Cost effective and Opensource nature.

Cons

User Interface was laggy sometimes. It has sort of older look and feel compared to other open source email collaboration products. Sometimes it was not able to filter junk mails effectively compared microsoft exchange service.

Zimbra Collaboration Suite

Zimbra Transition

Reviewed 4 years ago

Zimbra was chosen as a preferred suite for our company because it allows for a simple client that every member of our workforce could use without feeling overwhelmed with Outlook or Office 365. With Zimbra it has been easier to encourage collaboration with different teams and team members. More experienced team members who need or desire the muscles of Outlook and easily set Zimbra in Outlook.

Pros

Ok lets begin with the good. Zimbra is a suite that comes with the basic calendar, contact list and the ability to create tasks. It allows you to set reminders, tasks and appointments and share them with coworkers quickly. This is perhaps the best features of this software. It is a relatively simple program without all the bells and whistles of the beast known as Outlook. It is the simplicity of this software and security that makes it ideal for our company. We have just migrated to Zimbra and the roll out for the most part was successful. One thing I absolutely love about Zimbra is the ability to set it up in Outlook. This gives me the collaboration within my team using Zimbra and the features I've come to love in Outlook.

Cons

If you are use to the larger and more powerful collaboration suite known as Office 365, you'll be a bit disappointed with Zimbra. Zimbra is not going to search for you, talk for you or keep your emails forever. What you'll find is a simple program that allows you to collaborate with your coworkers and management without the bells and whistles. It can be a disappointment if you're use to a larger suite. Communication is limited to just responding to an email, and emails are set to a 30 day retention limit. You can use a "Zimlet" to capture and save emails however. As stated above being able to incorporate Zimbra into Outlook is a way to overcome some of the limitations of Zimbra.

Good Email Client

Pros

Responsive support. Nice interface. It’s also very easy to administer many users. Easy to make group and user aliases.

Cons

Interface is nice but dated. Not much UI customization other than a few colors. You can get many email bounce backs and your emails can end up in client’s junk mail because the server isn’t really trusted by other email servers like the big guys such as Microsoft and Google.

I use many most parts of office 365 daily for work tasks.

Reviewed 5 years ago

It makes daily collaboration easier and does so with nice integration of the entire suite.

Pros

Office 365 has certainly improved from previous iterations. Word, PowerPoint, and Excel do their jobs well and have added some more in-depth functionality. The other applications such as teams and outlook make day to day collaboration at work easier. It is also nice to have the integration within the suite.

Cons

The program is great but some of its competitors offer many of the same things for cheaper or even free. Office 365, I think, will continue to be a staple in the workforce but sometimes the creators seem to get so caught up in the nitty-gritty details that they forget to make the simple, daily, tasks a little more intuitive.

Reviewed 4 years ago

Collaboration, communication, and productivity needs are all being met using this single suite of products from Microsoft.

Pros

All of my files and data are synced using OneDrive. I save everything to my one drive and it is on all of my devices. The user interface is beautiful and Microsoft continues to make it better and better with each release. The ribbons and buttons are all self explanatory and intuitive.

Cons

Outlook is still a little klunky. It hasn't changed much over the years so there are still things that just aren't efficient (location of the Send button), the Check Names button is unnecessary (why can't it just search the directory as I type??), why do I have to compose a message in order to get to the screen that allows me to edit/modify my Signatures.

Pros

Compatibility for MS Office documents in the cloud is nice to have, we have access to 365 via our Office licenses and use it sporadically when browser-based is our only option.

Cons

Really depends on what product within the suite you are using. For instance, I find the PowerPoint client on 365 to be absolutely useless. Sharing and collaboration tools are not as intuitive as G-Suite Products. PowerBI requires some work on the administrator's side to get running.

The best part is knowing that you can purchase a single item and it brings all of the software you need instead of chasing after individual items.

Cons

The only area I think could use work is the collaboration portion within the office suite. For example, in Google Docs you can have multiple people working simultaneously on the same sheet at the same time and the experience is very nice. It isn't as good in the office suite.

Microsoft 365 The Total Team Experience

Reviewed 2 years ago

I use Microsoft 365 daily. It is essential for our team to share and collaborate on projects. We have found the results amazing and the interface with the Microsoft suite of products adds a new dimension to our teams.

Pros

Microsoft 365 is a perfect cloud based product that encompasses the entire Microsoft suite of products. It is ideal for sharing and collaboration.

Cons

At times the online version of a product is different than the desk top experience. The option to download to the desktop is always available and it is a seamless transition.
