Pros

What I like the best about Zimbra are its splendid storage volume and the mobile version. Our colleague has access to emails even when they are traveling or away from the office.
We can integration this suite with informative applications like Ted, IBM redbooks to view our daily feeds which is quite helpful for the people who are more interested in gaining knowledge.
I like the easy installation and the web administrative console which can be used for many admin tasks. The Desktop app is great and easy to use.

Pros

It's an incredible programming for examination. I love the perception highlights since it transform drilling information into fun outlines or diagrams.
The ability to filter to the specific metric we are interested in is an amazing feature.
It is a good data analytics and visualization software and its ability to import data from multiples sources is a great feature.

Cons

The update processes are complex, since they must be done in a controlled environment, because they can produce an error and place the entire service offline.
Hard to customize the installation, lost data when I needed to migrate to another server. The API uses XML-RPC which is not easy to use, JSON is a lot easier.
The read messages do not drop down to low priority, so if I leave one unread so I can come back to it. The message gets buried in the inbox.

Cons

Could be frustrating to use when first starting as it would give you an error message but provide no specifics on what is wrong or directions to fix it.
I find it a bit frustrating when presented with a visualisation that doesn't represent the particular angle on the data I am looking for.
Had to take some training courses and even at that it was still confusing.

Zimbra Collaboration Suite

Easy to use and full of features

Reviewed 4 years ago

I used Zimbra in my previous company and I liked the suite very much because it offered almost anything you'd need from an on-premise mail server. It also had some extra features like its own cloud support to share documents and files amongst users. The paid version also came with the connector for Outlook allowing users keep using their standard mail client application. I never had any issue to configure my email account on my mobile phones either through the MS Exchange protocol compatibility. It also comes with a rich web interface. Now it should also integrate a chat/conference and a document collaboration features but they were not available yet when I was using Zimbra so I can't tell anything about them.

Pros

Easy for the users It has its own cloud-like file sharing feature It works on almost any kind of device through standalone clients or rich web client.

Cons

Being Linux based it might be a bit harder to set-up and configure for Microsoft oriented admins

Zimbra Collaboration Suite

Perhaps the worst productivity suite I've ever used

Reviewed 2 years ago

You can do better than Zimbra. Whether Google or Microsoft, go with a company that delivers a top-notch productivity experience and doesn't have any of the quality or customer support problems that Zimbra has.

Pros

When it worked, Zimbra provided our users with a decent experience that wasn't completely replicated once we switched away from it. There were certain features, like built-in RSS reader support, that other platforms don't have.

Cons

Zimbra has changed hands quite a bit over the years, and it isn't difficult to see why. Its quality control is abominable, for one. I lost track of the number of times our Zimbra environment went offline because of some obscure bug. Zimbra's documentation tends to be scattered, and when you do find it, you'll see that Zimbra makes its own little versions of every open source product it uses. Its customer service generally doesn't know what it's doing except for one guy, Rick, that I occasionally spoke with.

Light weight, Cost-effective & User-Friendly Web-Email Collaboration product

Reviewed 4 years ago

While working in previous organization, came across this web based product, specially due to its open source nature, and easier to learn. It helped a great deal in being up-to-date by tracking official mails. It has all the features that an basic web email client needs to have. Specially during the times we were connected to VPN, it used to easily work even in low or restricted network connectivity. It had easier and user-friendly User Interface, including refresh button, to force reload emails as per convenience.

Pros

1. Specially the optimized nature of it to work on limited or lower network connectivity like VPN, 2. Cost effective and Opensource nature.

Cons

User Interface was laggy sometimes. It has sort of older look and feel compared to other open source email collaboration products. Sometimes it was not able to filter junk mails effectively compared microsoft exchange service.

Buona posta elettronica, ma troppo poco

Reviewed 2 months ago

Good Email Client

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

Responsive support. Nice interface. It’s also very easy to administer many users. Easy to make group and user aliases.

Cons

Interface is nice but dated. Not much UI customization other than a few colors. You can get many email bounce backs and your emails can end up in client’s junk mail because the server isn’t really trusted by other email servers like the big guys such as Microsoft and Google.

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

1. Email manager, easy use and configuration, which allows to connect with different operating systems. 2. You can check your emails from anywhere, you can also synchronize your online account with a microsoft application like outlook and android mail. 3. It is not necessary to install applications since you can see it online through a webmail. 4. The last update of zimbra has a chat, so that users created by the company, who has it installed, can communicate.

Cons

It is not completely compatible with some mail clients, which does not allow the configuration of the mail.

Business intelligence and data visualization were easy to do with this software

Reviewed 4 years ago

I could make dashboards much quicker and more intuitively than with Excel. Always a plus for someone just beginning to get their feet wet with data visualization.

Pros

It handles massive amounts of data and creations of dashboards are fairly intuitive. I was able to use public databases and process data fairly intuitively.

Cons

One needs a business address to gain access to full suite of functions. Too bad if you are a solopreneur.

The future of business intelligence

Reviewed 4 years ago

It gives managers access to business performance from across our suite of tools, on a dashboard which they can easily access whenever they want.

Pros

It lets us share business performance with colleagues and managers. The dashboards are very customisable and allow you to pull in information from other tools via an API, and it gives live data updates.

Cons

There's a lot to learn, and it's something that requires substantial time to get right. The effort is worth it, but be prepared to set aside a few days before you and your stakeholders are happy with the dashboards.

I love that you can get updated graphical reports from any device and in an agile, simple and parameterized way.

Reviewed 5 years ago

In general what I like about Power BI is that it makes use of the tools that I already know as Excel and SQL Server, and it is integrated into the Microsoft enterprise suite.

Pros

For any executive it is always important to have the information in the moment when it is needed. Power BI helps you to achieve this and easily connects to the data repository, the system already includes a variety of informative graphics that help to present the information of a very visual way In addition the system allows you to delve into the data to see the detail of the origin.

Cons

This tool is so powerful that I can not think of any disadvantage in its use, but if I had to say something it is that you have to be very careful in the base of the information so that the reports that the system transmits are reliable, if the information has problems that is reflected in the reports that the system gives you.

Future is here!

Reviewed 4 years ago

99/100. Very impressed with this program and am going to be using it more as it fits all my needs.

Pros

This suite is quite impressive. It combines the very best of reporting software/dashboard solutions into one very powerful suite. You can make charts, interactive workflows, and do all your reporting in one powerful program. The UI looks like any other suite, but the pivot-table-looking options which allow you to slice/filter the data is such a nice change of pace. You can quickly add/remove any feature/filter you want without having to make any code modifications. This is a very handy tool if you need to provide weekly/monthly reports for any reason, simply update the data and refresh the report and that's it! And don't forget that this program is just going tog et better and better as time goes on!

Cons

The only drawback to his fantastic suite is that it takes a bit to get the hang of using it. There are so many features and things you can do it can be a bit overwhelming. Otherwise, the only drawback is that it wasn't out sooner!

Great software, but has issues with attention-to-detail

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

Makes it easy to analyze large sets of data, online tools allow for easy collaboration and publishing. Microsoft's support team is willing to work in-depth with us on most issues.

Cons

Some small cosmetic issues make cleanliness a nightmare. Certain cosmetic elements, notably lines, have large blank spaces on the top, bottom, and sides which can interfere with buttons and cause confusion among users. Another notable issue - elements which are not visible still take up memory, which can cause issues with load speed.

The tool is part of the Microsoft suite for education which is helpful. But note that it takes a long time to setup and is not necessarily user friendly. It helps greatly to have a MS advisor or trainer involved (which costs money) but can save weeks of headache.

Cons

Like most tools it has limitations, but some of the notable limits our school has experienced involve who can see what (permissions), who can input what, who can analyze what, etc. As well, extracting the spurious or non-correlated variables can sometimes be challenging even if you know what you want to take out.

Tricky - Carefully evaluation total cost of ownership and organizational before investing your time

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall, I prefer Tableau for my business intelligence needs and find that the total cost of ownership and training is lower for an organization.

Pros

Coming from using Tableau and Excel, I was able to pick up PowerBI pretty quickly. The data sources window was especially intuitive, along with the data visualization suite for different charts. I especially liked the ability to show a single KPI such as a percentage in big block text.

Cons

I was frustrated when my organization wanted to move in the direction of PowerBI for a few reasons. First, I use a mac so there was no native desktop version for me to use and web is not at all the same. Second, I thought the fact that the desktop version was free was deceiving because it's basically inevitable that you will need some sort of paid license if you ever want your dashboards to leave your personal computer and be seen by others. The terms are also a bit confusing, such as between "report" and "dashboard."

Great tool to create your dashboards

Reviewed 5 months ago
Pros

It has has a lot of flexibility to customize your dashboard with many available plugins. A lot of possibilities to filter and deep dive on the data with easy visualization. It is integrated with other solutions from the Microsoft Office suite such as Excel and it can manage different data resources.

Cons

Big learning curve to take the most of the solutions, it can become complicated with the different views. It has limited functionalities on the Web browser version and compatibility issued on a Mac. License can be costly for organizations with a lot of users.

The 'missing arm' of Excel

Reviewed 2 years ago

Power BI allows me to model and analyze large, fast-changing data sets without constructing a new spreadsheet and manually updating its data everyday or multiple times a day.

Pros

An amazing tool that brings to the table many of the things you wish could be done in Excel--data modeling to bring together disparate data sets, incremental refresh of that data, and a huge suite of tools for analysis and visualization. The support documentation Microsoft provides has been excellent and a huge aid in learning Power BI.

Cons

There are a few formatting changes I wish could be made within Pivots that would be helpful. Aside from that, the limitations I have encountered are with my own user knowledge and not with the tool itself.

Data Visualisation with user friendly interface

Reviewed 4 years ago

We make full use of the business analytics and data visualization tool within Power BI to spot trends within our database and to present to the management on findings through the reports.

Pros

It not only has desktop based versions but has native apps for iOS, Android and Windows as well. A major plus point where our team is able to make use of Power BI on the go. As part of Microsoft suite of applications, it is able to easily extract data from a multitude of sources and very easily package them into a visually pleasant data report.

Cons

It does not have the ability to clean the data from the list of data sources we input. This has to be done outside of Power BI before it can be fed into the application for data visualization. A rather steep learning curve for people without the technical knowledge in the first place.

Right Tool for Data Visualization and Data Analysis

Reviewed a month ago
Pros

The report sharing and collaboration with the tool is very good because of the Microsoft ecosystem. It is the most affordable and has built-in ETL functionality. I mostly liked the modeling and data connectors of Power BI. It supports all kinds of data files like txt, excel, and Google Sheets. It processes the data very fast as compared to other competitors.

Cons

The UI is not that great compared to the competitors. Find difficulty when processing the high data files. Limited amount predefined templates as well.
