Similar to other products and changing settings was easy. Also some small features that felt nice at first (even though I later turned them off).

Definitely the price. The difference is just not comparable when it comes to a standard program on the market (AutoCAD). The overall quality of ActCAD stands out when it comes to a simple CAD program for small and medium companies, includding individuals.

Altough there are a lot of positive features, there are characteristics that require more polishing. Just to mention a few: Table Import, Dinamic Blocks, Text Style configuration (it usually crashes the program), overkill rework, export data, etc.

I use this software as a replacement to MicroStation, which is what I used at my work, but I retired and lost access to cad software. Not wanting to spend a lot of money, or have to have a renewable license, this software is perfect. I am not a cad operator by trade. I used it at work to update drawing done by those who do that full time. I mainly use it for house plans for remodels I do, or basic part sketching for things I build in my shop. I am not efficient, but I love the accuracy of being able to draw in scale, print in scale, and produce professional looking drawings.

I don't want to be critical, because so much of what is confusing to me is only because of syntax issues with how ActCad performs a function, and how I was taught using other software. The software will do anything I need it to do, just not always obvious. For me, getting the snaps to work just as I am expecting has been difficult, but thats likely just operator unfamiliarity, as I still only use the software somewhat sporadically. I'll use it say 4 or 5 hours a day for a week or two, then maybe not at all for a couple of weeks, then only an hour or so.

Cost and function. As other CAD software moved to a subscription based option, this was a great replacement. Very impressed with the interface (once I determined where everything was located) and the overall product.

Nothing. As mentioned, I had to learn a little with the location of and functions as they are all different from my experience with a previous CAD software, but this comes with anything new.

Ease of use and functionality, similar to AutoCAD, making the transition painless.

Lack of adequate help reference, documentations and support. The software includes many features, but without proper guide, it's hard to fully utilized. The online support is based in India, so there is difficulty due to time difference. Some of the feature are non-functioning or have bugs.

This is a very good alternate to AutoCAD, it is cheap and reliable

Sometimes it crashes, Other times I have to reset the software data.

It is having same features which we are using in expensive software like Autocad. At the same time service support is good. Separate training is not at all required.

It is similar to auto cad and very easy to use. And it's very cheap when compared to cad. And the tools are also similar to auto cad so I didn't face any issue in using this even for the first time. I would definitely recommend it to others

It is an easy to use CAD and has excellent tools, mainly the block library and the BIM interface.

Some basic problems to be solved: 1. Doesn't the dynmode command exist? Why can't I see the values directly at the cursor? 2. When I click on the screen and drag to select lines or objects, a spot appears on the screen that makes it impossible to continue working. This happens both to the right and to the left. I need to use Zoom to get it back to normal. It is impossible to work like this. 3. When using the Area command and selecting points, the selected region does not change the color. This is extremely useful in daily work. 4. Measurement Snap has a very strong sensitivity and it should be better to avoid wrong directions when we click quickly.

Thanks for your valuable review. Sorry to see that you are facing some basic issues within the software. In our latest version all the issues mentioned are solved, please check. The DYNMODE is available in the latest version Type the system variable BLIPMODE and change the value to OFF to resolve the spot issue. The issue with the area and the measurement snap also fixed in the latest version. Drop a direct mail to support@actcad.com to resolve the issues.

Good value for money. Similarity to other programs (AutoCAD). Very good compatibility with other programs.

Not all AutoCAD commands are transferred to ActCAD. There is not a step by step guide for the program. There is not a list with commands and shortcuts. The BIM plug in was less than basic (no automatisaion for door measures, I could not change the materials of walls etc).

Well developed menu structure . Funtionality similar to AutoCAD so transitional users will have no learning curve. Great value for money.

Some shortcut commands available in AutoCAD are not available .

Similarity to Autocad, familiar workspace and commands, reasonable cost for perpetual licence

The help section which is not complete and lacks all feauters or possible queries. The fact that there are not many videos online and it's quite hard to find resources and answers at-hock.

I have no objections for now because ActCAD is constantly improving and remarks that they appear removed as soon as possible. So I went after the transition to AutoCAD Subscription decided to purchase the perpetual ActCAD Pro.

Naved, thank you very much for your valuable review. We have made several improvements in ActCAD new version in terms of speed and performance. Regarding comamnd usage, please check our Quick Start Guide available under Help menu. We are also launching complete video tutorials this year.

Minimal, almost no learning curve to shift from Autocad to ActCAD. Very much Autocad like interface, infact I have arranged all my tollbars, ribbons same as Autocad so virtually no difference. Also forward and backward portability of files, from Autocad to ActCAD and vice a versa irrespective of which version of Autocad file is saved.

Initial configuration, installing is bit difficult or cumbersome. bit slower than Autocad (performance is dependent of hardware too so not a show stopper) but can be worked out by optimising hardware and software interface. I am sure ACTcad team will work that out.

However, if your computer doesnt have .Net framework 4.5, VC++ versions, our installer will install them as they are the prerequisites. That could be the reason for delay. Hatch command does not work as it should be.

Hi Jai, thank you for writing your valuable review of ActCAD software on Capterra website. I have noticed that you are facing some issues with the hatch command. We are improving the hatch algorithm on a continuous basis and I agree that we still need to improve it further.

It served our purpose. Training was not required . Our engineers just took off on the same day. Cost was affordable.

Green xline which stops my whole work without any intimation. i am suffering lots of. very bad product. cant suggest to anyone. Number of times i have complain for this but no response.

I am so much confused about using this software. Xline, Trim, layer manager etc. commands are not working properly.

You have been using old version without updating despite of our repeated requests. We have given lot of support at your office but you are never supported. Please do not directly compare each command with OtherCAD software. You have to use ActCAD as an independent software. Green XLINES issue won't be there if you disable Parallel snap. It is rectified long back in ActCAD version.

In the panorama of alternatives to Autocad, I deepened the Intellicad world and I decided to try Actcad also for the very favorable cost, I also wanted the possibility of using the Cad on multiple computers and this was a prerogative of Actcad. The clean interface and continuous updates make Actcad a software that keeps up with the technical evolution. Fast and professional assistance, maximum attention to the customer even with only one license.

I had some initial problems with the license and the release of the same for the transfer of the software, some initial imperfection on the interface, now resolved and also the updating procedure from complicated and simple.

The program offers the same functions as much more expensive products. He has a perpetual license, not some subscription. There are no great hardware requirements, but on strong equipment it develops wings. Supports 32/64 bit Microsoft Windows systems at Windows Vista.
