Pros and cons

The ease of the program has been great. The ability to obtain the information out in the field is a plus benefit.
Awesome history set, mark-up capability, submittal/document integration, punch lists, the list goes on and on. Very intuitive interface and our field guys love it.
They want you to succeed, they want to help you fix any issues that arise - they're part of our team and we appreciate their excellent customer and technical support.
Plangrid has a function to add hyperlinks within the planes, so that they lead directly to another plane. This system is very uncomfortable, and tends to make the platform collapse, so it is useless.
PlanGrid is an arrogant, self centered company that refuses to be of help when asked. I have recorded complaints with the California BBB and the FTC.
The interface is still difficult to navigate for more seasoned professionals which can cause them frustration.

A specialized cloud for BIM projects

Reviewed 5 years ago

BIM 360 is a much needed centralized information platform where you can share all the information regarding a Civil Engineering and Architecture project with all the team, or teams, that are participating in such project. I find this tool entirely useful for my projects, because I can share all the information about a project with my team, involving different disciplines such as Structural Engineering,...

Pros

1) Access to the Autodesk files for Reviewing. 2) Saving all the information regarding a Civil Engineering Project. 3) Access to the Autodesk files from any smartphone, tablet, or pc. 4) Interaction with the models without the need of an app, just by accessing from any browser. 5) Markups and comment sharing.

Cons

The only con that I can think about is that you cannot edit files in this software. But, since its purpose is just to share information, I don't think that is necessarily a con.

Autodesk Construction Cloud

I have had minimal i

Pros

Autodesk has an extremely firm suite so you get the full flex of choices when you are utilizing this. Each conceivable specialty you can imagine is remembered for Autodesk Development Cloud so you don't need to stress over purchasing additional items or a lot of various items. I additionally like the update highlight. Autodesk does their updates at evenings and on ends of the week so it isn't problematic...

Cons

Autodesk is threatening to those new to computer aided design virtual products because of the high level format of the product, and the absence of instructional exercises to aid the improvement of activities

Best Construction software out there

Reviewed a month ago

While Autodesk Development Cloud has a scope of noteworthy highlights and advantages, there are a couple of expected disadvantages to remember:Cost: Autodesk Development Cloud is an exceptional stage, and its evaluating might be far off for some more modest or moderate sized development firms. The stage's valuing is likewise intricate and can be challenging to comprehend, with extra expenses for add-on highlights.Expectation to learn and adapt: Likewise with any new programming, there can be an expectation to learn and adapt for colleagues who are curious about the stage. A few clients might require extra preparation and support to completely use every one of the elements of the stage, which can be tedious and exorbitant.

Pros

Incorporated stage: Autodesk Development Cloud gives a solitary stage to overseeing development projects from pre-development to handover. This implies that venture groups can team up, share information, and access all their task data in a single spot, which assists with smoothing out work processes and further develop correspondence.Adjustable work processes: The stage offers a serious level of customization, permitting clients to set up work processes that are custom-made to their particular requirements. This implies that venture groups can make processes that work for their specific task necessities, making it simpler to oversee complex activities.

Cons

It is not begginer friendly and its hard to use if you don't have experience

Somewhat useful, but the program could use some better functions.

Reviewed 6 years ago

Being able to load and download different types of modeling content file types such as .dwg, .ifc, .nwd, and even .rvt. Merging models was extremely straight forward and useful as well.

Pros

How easily I am able to add, merge, and store models. Also, it is pretty easy to add members to a model along with understanding what the different membership levels allow.

Cons

The cutting planes can be really far from the navigation screen which makes it hard & confusing to use. It would useful to be able to alter the nearness & farness of the culling plane such as in Navisworks Manage. I understand that creating too large of an "area" to be viewed/understood by the program bogs down the model, which is trying to be avoided with GLUE in general. However, the near culling...

PlanGrid is a good tool for site engineers to annotate drawing on site and update back to office. I am sure that with the new acquisition by Autodesk a lot of improvement will be made

Pros

The speed of completing a task on a drawing is fast enough, and it is easy to learn and implement. It provides faster coordination cycles between site and office engineers.

Cons

Removing a redlining and comments is not that easy. uploading and downloading files take a lot of time

Many great functionalites, but overpriced

Reviewed 4 years ago

I would say that the service is overpriced, other software vendors provide similar (or even better solutions, depending what you need) at much lower price. You can even find many of the functionalities for free. However, this is Autodesk solution, so if you use Autodesk products, this may be the best choice regarding compatibility reasons.

Pros

BIM360 Docs enable users to open many different file formats online (in a browser), without installing anything - which is great. It is also great for reviewing BIM models, adding issues with notes, remarks and adding markup. It can also connect responsible person with a remark. Clicking on an item in the issues list takes you on the exact place in the model, where the issue was placed.

Cons

Cannot open txt files. Takes too long to upload txt files. Uploading goes into two steps: upload + processing. When it's processing, user have no ability to stop it. Several times I experienced that I cannot stop the processing (it's taking on forever, I am talking days here), and this is especially the problem where you have fixed model file names and you want them in the specific location. Cannot...

My review of Autodesk Construction Cloud

Reviewed a month ago

Overall, my experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud has been very positive. This software is very powerful and offers advanced features for design enthusiasts. If you are an advanced user looking for a powerful 3D design software, I highly recommend trying Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Pros

Autodesk Construction Cloud is a 3D design software that really impressed me. This software is incredibly powerful and offers advanced tools that made my design experience very enjoyable. What I like the most about this software is the quality of its design features. Creating 3D models is very intuitive, which allowed me to quickly and easily create very accurate models.

Cons

However, there are some negative points that I noticed during my use of this software. First, the software interface can be quite complex and difficult to navigate for beginners. In addition, the software's learning curve can be quite steep, which can be discouraging for some users.

Managing Construction Projects

Reviewed 24 days ago

Overall, I would say it is a high-quality software platform that offers a wide range of tools and solutions for managing construction projects. While there may be some limitations or areas for improvement, the platform is generally well-regarded by us and it worked quite well for our company ina very specific projects.

Pros

Robust project management features, collaboration and communication tools, integration with other tools, powerful cost estimating features, and a high level of security.

Cons

A steep learning curve, reliance on internet connectivity, limited customization, expensive pricing, and limited mobile functionality

Autodesk Construction Cloud - A Comprehensive Platform for Construction Management

Reviewed 5 months ago

Airtable is a powerful and user-friendly platform for managing projects. The platform's intuitive user interface and powerful tools make it easy to store, sort, and share data. Collaborating with team members is easy, and users can customize their workspace to their needs. Additionally, Airtable's integration with other software programs makes it a great choice for teams that need to manage data from multiple sources.

Pros

Autodesk Construction Cloud is an excellent platform for managing construction projects of all sizes. Its intuitive user interface and powerful features make it easy to track progress, manage data, and collaborate with stakeholders. The platform's real-time reporting capabilities provide up-to-date insights into project activities, enabling teams to make informed decisions quickly.

Cons

Autodesk Construction Cloud can be difficult to learn, particularly if a user is not already familiar with the software. The platform's steep learning curve can be challenging for inexperienced users, and some of the features can be difficult to find. Additionally, the platform is not currently optimized for mobile devices.

Plan Grid Review

Reviewed 6 years ago

Plan grid has been useful for our team to be one step ahead of the game in document control. I am currently working on a larger project with multiple files, especially ASIs. As a result, the overlay capabilities makes it easier to keep up with drawings that have been superseded and have the most current jobs in the field. I like the ability to tag drawings by discipline and in my case phases. The...

Pros

Intuitive and ergonomic functionality. It keeps files up to date and automatically supersedes old files.

Cons

The cost to share with other team members. If I have a project that has multiple subs that have a Project Manager, Asst Project Manager, Field Superintendent and Foreman who need to have the most updated drawings and each has to pay the fee then it gets pricey on their end. So I think Plan Grid should sell package/licenses s to subcontractor teams so they can distribute to their team in-house which you screen through their email address.

BIM 360: A good idea, but misses the mark as a whole.

Reviewed 6 years ago

I've used BIM-360 as part of the BIM coordination process on 2 separate projects. The idea is that you store your CAD files in the cloud, and the BIM administrator for the project creates composite ("merged") models, combining all of the trade models. These merged models are stored in the cloud and are accessible from computers and ipads. The ability to view current and updated models on an ipad...

Pros

Many, but the most importants are: View all Data online without download them, communication, easy to use

Cons

Still too much missing features!!! Data lokal are not automaticly compare to the cloud and the pricing is not attraktiv for start working with the cloud. The first step should be cheap. When you place your data in the cloud, found out, that it's working fine, you mostly will not exit the system. But meanwhile you start use the system and try to invite some more, a high pricing will avoide to get the first step in the cloud. It will be helpfull that a small admin-team should be allowed to use it for free. Comercial users like worker, industrie, snd so on have to pay for it, after the admins arranged everything.

Time Saving & Easy to Use

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall, our experience with PlanGrid has been positive and we have more users on the tool than we originally anticipated because of the value it brings. The support and partnership both from our account reps and customer service is great - getting answers to our questions quickly. We also appreciate that they are open to product recommendations and ask us to participate in testing of the new functionality.

Pros

PlanGrid is simple and easy to use. Even our non-tech savvy people have easily transitioned to using the tool. The ability to pull up drawings and mark them up in the field saves our team time, and being able to submit field reports has increased report submission and speed (everything from dailies, safety reports, to cut sheets and more). The field report functionality was a game changer for us and adoption of the tool. Our field team likes that they can do all of these things in one place without the hassle of using multiple platforms or tools. On average, our team is saving two hours a week in time, some as many as 10-15 hours per week.

Cons

As a subcontractor, there is some functionality that we'd like to see changed or added to make the tool even more helpful that doesn't quite work for us right now. The RFI functionality doesn't let us use our own templates, but is in the process of being overhauled, which may help. Our field team would love to be able to make edits to documents and re-save them as documents rather than downloading,...

A Great Tool that saves me tremendous time......

Reviewed 5 years ago

When we start a construction project now we invite the entire team. Designers, Owners, subcontractors, and vendors to our project folder. Now we can rest easy knowing that everyone is using the most current documents as the project is constructed. Our superintendents keep their daily reports on PlanGrid. Our safety inspections and meetings are kept on PlanGrid. Submittals, RFIs, project photos, drawings, and finally our Punchlist. It save a ton of time and money having this as a single source to keep all this project information in one place.

Pros

PlanGrid allows me to keep all my construction contract documents all in one place. In the past various versions of drawings, specs, submittals, RFI's, etc would be stored in various places and you could never be sure if you were in fact looking at the latest versions. PlanGrid takes that problem away and when collaborating with your team you can be sure that everyone is operating from the same sheet of music.

Cons

There are a few minor quirks that I have asked PlanGrid's support folks to look into correcting. Over the past few years I have shared many items with them that I would like to see changed or updated. They have most definitely listened and the product continuously gets better. Thanks PlanGrid!

Plangrid is your next new best friend

Reviewed 2 years ago

One of our best discovery over the time. We have try and tested some but without a doubt that’s the best in his category

Pros

Before knowing Plangrid we were comparing and managing file single handily and we have to create multiple packages for onsite use ... which often end up outdated. With plangrid, you have all you architectural drawing located a one single place and can be accessible without internet connection. You can easily compare the various version and finally, you can easily connect the team onsite with the office. This software have changed our way of working thru the time and we are now using it on a daily basic. Ohhh yes, you have to try the customer service, probably the best one that I have ever add. Always available and always knowledgeable and give up real follow up when needed. You can also provide feedback which sometime result in newest features which is awesome!

Cons

Each user have to possess a different account to work properly. See that like an additional fee just like a cellphone line. It’s about the same price and also as much useful.

BIM 360 DOCS - Is it worth it

Reviewed 4 years ago

Overall, i love it. It can take your whole office filing and model drawing to the cloud allowing you to work remotely. To me cloud based modelling is perfect, and I don't even pick up hassles working on a 350mb model from home with only a 5mb line. It handles it effortlessly.

Pros

There is a definite ease of use in comparison to BIM 360 Team that we may be familiar with for those who started working in a cloud based environment with the interface having more of a "Windows Explorer"feel that is fully customisable and with it running off Autodesks Skyscraper Server I find it faster than when running off BIM 360 Team, prbably explains why from Revit v 2019 Team is no longer avaialble. The added benefit of Autodesk constantly improving and adapting the software based on end users feedback and criticisms will keep you constantly impressed with what they are doing.

Cons

This can also bring it to a Con....because Autodesk is always finely tuning the software i wouldn't recommend activating a new addon that they provide immediately after it comes out of "Preview"phase. I have found it to still be buggy and has caused me embarrassment when the end-user takes it as my fault it is not doing what it was supposed to do. 6 months later and now it appears to be working well.

Pros: Easy to use for those that don't use BIM Software everyday. Cross Platform Use Easy for upload/download across many machines/users (Vs regular cloud) Can use many filetypes. Same data is there across all platforms. Cons: UI for those of us that use Navis on the regular. Won't let you glue out of AutoCAD always. Causes crashes. Must have the AutoCAD file closed if you are trying to glue off the desktop app. Navigation on iPads is a bit hard to learn at first for field staff. iPad model updates are spotty. I field many phone calls from field staff in regards to models not being available. Overall Great Product though! Has greatly improved our workflow over the past 2/3 years.

Pros

Cross Platform Use, Easy to use for non computer users. Same data across platforms. We use as a cloud storage for files across offices and detailers.

Autodesk Construction Cloud Software review

Reviewed 5 months ago

The software is considered to be comprehensive and powerful, with a wide range of tools and features that can help construction professionals manage their projects more efficiently. I personally had a great experience as a user, the software and its intuitive interface and real-time collaboration capabilities worked really great for me. However, it's important to keep in mind that some users may have different experiences and opinions about the software, and it may not be the best fit for all types of construction professionals or projects. It's recommended to do a proper research and evaluation of the software based on your specific use-case and requirements before making a decision

Pros

Autodesk Construction Cloud is a set of construction management software tools designed to help construction professionals manage their projects more efficiently. Some of its features include project management, collaboration, data management, and BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools. Users have praised the software for its intuitive interface and its ability to streamline project management tasks. Additionally, the ability to collaborate with team members in real-time has also been highlighted as a major plus.

Cons

-Cost: The software may be expensive for some small or medium-sized construction companies.-Learning Curve: As with any complex software, there may be a learning curve to getting the most out of Autodesk Construction Cloud. Users may need to invest time and resources into training and getting familiar with the various tools and features.-Integration: If a company already has other software systems...

BIM Field and BIM Glue, okay if you have to use

Reviewed 6 years ago

Both BIM Field and BIM Glue were selected by the construction manager to manage documents. BIM Glue was quirky but overall it did an okay job of updating versions so you could always find the latest. Unless the architect or CM decided to move things into new folders. BIM Field is adequate. The "search" function doesn't always make logical sense. For example searching for "issues by my company"...

Pros

The website always seems to work.

Cons

It is too flexible. Without some amount of structure it is difficult to reign in architects and contractor co-ops who give submittals ridiculous names. Once a sumbittal is rejected and resubmitted 2 or 3 times it becomes difficult to find anything. And asking the CM to produce a 16 month-old submittal on a large project becomes impossible as they cannot navigate their own naming conventions. If a CM or architect had a plan and stuck with it then Field would work better. But when they make up the organization as they go along it all becomes difficult to navigate on larger projects that go on for 3 or 4 years.

Single Source of Truth

Reviewed 4 years ago

With BIM360 we are connecting our teams in real-time, leveraging data and converting it into actionable information. We are taking BIM to a whole new level and truly levaraging the power of a model-based workflow. Furthermore, we are focused on the data, and with BIM360 we have far better tools to enable data governance so that we can glean actioble information.

Pros

What we like most about BIM360 is that it provides a foundation for supporting the entire design/build/manage lifecycle of a building or campus project. Leveraging this single source of truth, we connect the entire project team so that everyone is kept up-to-date on the latest information available to manage the project and their role in daily activities. Furthermore, BIM360 is the only truly BIM-based system that enables model content to be leveraged throughout the project and throughout the iterative design and build processes.

Cons

The only con to BIM360 is that it wasn't available 20 years ago.
