Very pleased with customer service!
Ease of use and customer service. Like how predictable the software is. Has been reliable with very few service interuptions.
Only one proposal per bid, would like to issue bid packages on leads to price leads before they become a job

Invitations to bid are easy to see and organize either by client name, project, time to complete. Simple process to add a bid or RFI. Can even bid the number of days project will take to complete.
Once you have been awarded a project, seeing the Purchase Order is easy. Actually viewing the Purchase Order is a different story. More steps than it seems would be needed, to even view a PO you must download the file, give it a unique name then you can open it.
Jason - Good feedback. Our product team will get in touch to talk through some more of your ideas. Talk to you soon!

Overall the experience has been great. I did have a challenge with the promised pricing and then they changed forcing me to pay triple the amount per month.
The Purchase orders and the ability to create bid request .
Unfortunately I cannot compare job reports side by side

The bid software was very easy to navigate and created a clean final bid. The program makes communication between client and company very simple. Tech support was readily available and very knowledgeable.
Some days the program ran very slow, and glitchy. The change order piece did not allow you to make line item change orders, or more than one line item at a time.

The Bid/Proposal feature could be upgraded to fit sub contractor needs better

It ultimately saves me a ton of time by allowing me to mass produce bid packages.
There are certain redundant features that you don't think about until you have to go change 36 items in every bid package. I wish I could eliminate that process by adding a copy feature that would allow you to customize certain fields before importing a template. Or I would ad an export to excel option on the bids page. That way I could build a preliminary budget for owner.

Ease of use, ability for teamwork, daily logs, and bid packages are great tools for our company.
The only thing I'd love to change would be to "archive" bid packages when having to rebid with plan changes.
Kelly, thank you so much for your honest review and feedback!

Experienced only a short trial period of use with this product. It ended up being a bit too much software for my firm's needs, but could easily have been our go-to choice. The software is definitely tailored towards builders and works well for that application. We intended to use it for a repair service, a task is driven environment, and it proved to be too much of a machine to handle or faster paced, less detailed product.
Great features. Does just about anything needed in the construction management process. AP/AR, bid creation, vendor management, file storage, et cetera.
The layout is a bit sprawled out for our function. You must navigate through a few main "Feature' tabs, and the big blocky transition between. tabs/windows limit the flow.

I was using three systems - Quickbooks for billing; UDA Construction Suite for bidding; and a dry erase board for scheduling. BT integrates all of them into one platform. I still pay thru QB but using QBO now makes the transactions instantaneous.
Scheduling and notification of changes to the schedule.
I bid a lot of jobs and may not win them. BT only allows estimates on the Lead side...you can't get bids from Subs and suppliers until the lead has turned into a job. It would be nice to be able to issue bid packages while prospecting a lead.
Bert, thank you for your review! We're always happy to hear that Buildertrend can bring everything together in one platform. I've also passed your feedback about bid packages on to our Product team!

two or three months into a job I can easily go back to a date and pull up that days information
I can forward bids, images, schedules, work flow updates and so much more to unlimited people. Very nice that I can send, for example, engineer field change notes as well as images and receive back the corrected information
Although not critical it would be nice to add a category or feature for OPTIONS. Not only in the bid area but in the construction schedule

How connected BT is through the entire project. I appreciate that we as a company can go from Bid through completion in one place, and keep everything organized.
Selections is tricky business from both a learning aspect, and the fullness of BT to incorporate it.

We are a General Contractor that does home remodels. We need a software that can keep track of where we are in our jobs and our subs can sign in and look at plans in order to bid. This software had been very useful and is very user friendly. We have had the time to bid more jobs just by having this software in house.

I like that this product allows the client to truly get involved with the process. It's so much easier for them to have everything housed centrally and makes it easy for them to share the progress with their friends and family!
There's nothing that I don't like, but I would like to see some reporting functionality with multiple parameters that would help us utilize the software for bid comparison's and other areas.

Ease of creating bids and ability to download docs and pics to provide detail to subs on how to bid. My trainer is the best. Very helpful and keeps me from making time consuming mistakes.
Needs a mass action function to be able to pay multiple PO's in full. Now you have to click on each PO and three more clicks to pay each PO individually. Build Pro has this function and it drastically reduces workload. Right now I'm happy but if continue to grow, will consider this a strong deterrent to continue to use BuilderTREND.

Very comprehensive product - has most of what we need as a builder
Still can't get it to work well with quick books... also told that it won't work at all with quick books in the future.

I have used BuilderTrend with two builders I have worked with in the past 6 years. I would not want to build custom homes without this valuable tool.
The availability of data sharing in one localized place. This software is excellent at communication to everyone involved in our custom home builds. The software captures the entire building process from bid to the final change order.
My own learning curve in understanding how to intergrate it further with QuickBooks!
Lori - thank you so much for taking the time to give us a review! We love to hear that you wouldn't build custom homes without Buildertrend, and we appreciate your continued use of our software.

Overall I've had a great experience. Our firm is just starting to use the budget part of the program so it's been a little bit of a learning curve but very pleased. Love that our logos printed on the selection pages when they are printed.
Pairing of Selection descriptions, with imagery, links, docs, and client approval process.
Bidding is cumbersome and not the easiest to navigate. You have to click into things so many times to get the bid and review. Comments and questions are sometimes hard to track down and find.

The daily logs are super easy to report and great for to log photos and weather.
Tracking costs is not user friendly. You have to create a "dummy sub" to submit a bid for a contractor that doesnt use builder trend. I should be able to input the data and have it simply track that.

Was a good experience and if we hadn’t been introduced to competitor then we would not have switched.
We really liked the idea of builder trend. It has bidding technology that allows you to get your subs to bid a project. It allows you to send proposals to clients. This is a game changer for any construction company that currently has no software in place.
The pricing is pretty high for what is included. We were introduced to a competitors app (coconstruct) that allows you to dig into the numbers on a price per square foot level. This is much more valuable to our company and allows us to make changes that help our company grow

We have been using BT for 6 months. It has some really nice features. it does take some time to set up cost codes, the schedule, selections templates, etc. But this is true for any construction software. This is our 3rd software attempt.
The Good; We like the schedule, the mobile app, the customer portal, file sharing, all job discussions are in one place, to do are easy. There are many nice features.
The Not So Good; The Request for bid module is okay, however to move the bids to an estimate is a mess. All the information comes over all mixed up. The numerical sequence is gone. all the line items are mixed up. It is so bad that you can not do an estimate from the bid. we have been using our old spreadsheets and importing those directly into the budget to avoid the bid to estimate module....

Very positive. Networking with multiple members of our team helps solicit efficient brainstorming for decisions. The daily log feature keeps a well documented history of our construction projects, and empowers our clients to stay current with the progress, even when they are out of town.
I really like the ease of use, especially for me, an older construction guy, who never considered himself “tech savvy”. Secondly, it is an amazingly powerful tool which keeps our team, and our clients, up to date with each other and “all on the same page”, not lost in scattered emails.
Honestly, not much to dislike. Perhaps the Inability to share photos on the quick message feature?
Don - thank you so much for your review and feedback! Makes us so happy to hear how well Buildertrend is working for you and your team.

This is a great communication tool. With all the information you put in, it is easy to pick it up from the other side for our contractors and trades. The schedule is a fantastic way for everyone to see what is going on with each job. With the scheduled items, you can attach notes and files, notify a contractor of an upcoming task or notify a contractor that they are no longer required for the job. It keeps record of all correspondence, this eliminates the need for having to save down into desktop files.
It is hard to fault, many of the issues I have experienced, the service team are quick to fix or review.
