Overall, CF has been a huge investment for our business. It has saved us countless hours between estimating, change orders, invoicing, and job costing.
Unbeatable price. Quick and reliable customer service. Great one-on-one training for software and integrations.
Integration with Quickbooks is slow and inconsistent. Estimating lacks features offered by competitors.

We are very pleased with this product, it has helped take our business to the next level!
What I like most about this product so far is estimating feature, once you get your products and templates built estimating is a breeze. Another great feature is the scheduling feature for projects and crews!
We have used this product for over a year now and as of yet everything this software has to offer meets our needs.
Thank you Austin for the great review. We will continue to add even more features and improvements to the Estimating module as well as all others. We are committed to providing the best construction management system at the most affordable price.

having timesheet, project reporting and statusing all in one platform
i am a small business owner that runs a electrical contracting company, we have grown and currently use several different platforms to manage our operations, we looked into CF and saw we can have all in one. the price for unlimited was lower than what i spend for all my other platforms.
the estimating section is a bit weak would like to have at least upload plans so we can do takeoffs

Great, we now could not operate as a business without the software
It is extremely easy to manage any size of project from estimating all the way through to project management.
There are often glitches when the software is updated

So far it's been great. I haven't been using it very long but it is fairly user friendly.
The software system is very customizable to my needs and offers tracking of many different aspects of a project. From design to punchlist the system allows me to track most everything in one place.
The invoicing/estimating and email pushes could be a bit more polished. Contractor Foreman's logo is more prominent than my logo.

I love how easy it is to use and organize all aspects of the projects, from estimating to final invoicing.
The thing I like the least about the software would be how it does not link the projects to Quickbooks Online and makes it a little harder

Very happy so far and have move to use it for our estimating and invoicing versus QB Online.
Love the flexibility to turn on and off the areas of the system we want to use. The ability to have many different user roles and see how each project is shaping up, manhours to know if we will be on target or need to make adjustment along the way before there is a labor overage.
Lacks the ability to create and use assemblies. We restore and build new windows and doors. We need to group materials and labor at a per sash level and then set a qty for the number of sashes for the project. We are only able to add the materials and need to manually multiple and then add detailed descriptions where the customer has to divide the total to determine the per window cost. I hope this is an improvement that is added soon. Also hope for email integration so we do not need to switch back and forth to Gmail Business account and the system or print to PDF to upload important messages.

We've solved time theft. It's transformed our estimating and to-do list of estimates and following up with clients.
I love the time card functions especially since it's been updated. This will save you the cost of the program alone. Very easy to use and save files and photos to review. To-do list is great. We complete projects from 15 - 100k and it's been a great help for us. Highly recommend this product.
Geo fencing isn't here yet. Can't wait for that.
Thank you Jason for this great review. Geofencing was added in the September update. You can enable it in Company Settings > Time. The range is defined in Project > Details. New features are being added for it including the ability to allow users of certain roles to not be required to be within the geofence area to clock in - such as a supervisor who is away from the job for a meeting about the particular job or buying materials, etc. We will continue to make the time card function even more beneficial and recently added overtime tracking. More features are on the way!

Overall, the software has been easy to use and has been great for organizing all of our projects.
I like having everything for my projects in one place and being able to easily access anything that I need for those projects.
I’ve noticed some minor glitches with certain parts not saving correctly during the estimating tools and having to go back through to make corrections.

Estimating and invoicing is simple. Time cards and crew sheets are very easy to create and maintain. Sort and filter features are great.
You can only make one timecard at a time (per user). Crew sheets take longer to make when I do need a second one but it's still functional and does the job.

Overall I am happy with the purchase we made. The price point to value was spot on for us.
Estimating features are good. There are a few things that I would like to see improve. Job costing is really good when paired with QuickBooks.
I do not like the schedule feature. It could be so much simpler than it is.

excellent, quick to respond with any questions or issues with the software and works efficiently to resolve
The ability to, in one place, track jobs from estimating, to project progress, billing, and employee management all in one place that also integrates with quick books
If it could only include what QuickBooks does.

Overall, Contractor foreman is one of the tools needed for us to grow. We are able to have more accountability and organization in our business now that we have begun using it
Contractor Foreman packs a lot of features into an affordable package. Its nice to have the project management, safety, contact list and basic financials all in one place. Customizable enough to meet most needs. Really like the continual development and improvement, and ability to make suggestions for improvement
The software can be a bit buggy and glitchy at times. Also the estimating format is not always ideal, but that is supposed to be addressed in the next update

Its been good, we have been with CF before allot of the options were added and we enjoy growing with CF and think it will grow to be one of the best.
Organization of multiple projects and timelines
Estimating system is still far behind from industry standards and should allow one line item to have a material / labor break down so that we can better manage project cost.

Excellent
Good features, ease of use, most features are self explanatory, excellent project tracking, good estimating tool, well thought out structure, the support has been good, suggestions have been acted on quickly.
Can improve for international users, need more options to integrate with accounts software, response flows on selection items can be improved, needs more colourful interface.

I am still learning to use this software to its potential. I like the estimating portion most about the software. But it is very important that you get it set up correctly.
It does need some improvement communicating with QuickBooks online. A live person instead of the type help would be great.

I’m delighted with the software and I would highly recommend it.
The ability to save templates for estimating combined with having a database of costs for labor and materials saves so much time. I’m learning more of the features related to project management and looking forward to using the customer portal.
Every once in awhile the session doesn’t process what I am doing. It hangs.

We like the estimating module because it allows you to enter your own information. Customer support is excellent! We really like the fact that the developers are always taking advice from users and frequently updating the software to accommodate the needs of its users.
The scheduling module needs work and is a little clunky. Many modules lack the ability to organize information alphabetically or numerically which is very frustrating at times. We have experienced problems with the software loading very slowly at certain times of the day/week.

Dealing with the CLI team over the years has been a pleasure. There are few businesses left, (and I know of no software firms) where, when you call technical support, you are just as likely to speak to the company [SENSITIVE CONTENT] and software developer, as you are a technician. Over the years, I have called and spoken directly to CLI's [SENSITIVE CONTENT] and developer, [SENSITIVE CONTENT] about issues, (generally the importing of data from various DOT's early internal electronic bidding system) or to kick around ideas for what I thought might make the estimating and bidding process more fluid. Most of the issues that we have experienced, that required a call to technical support, were resolved in less than 4 hours. To have the ability to speak directly to a programmer, has in some instances allowed issues to be resolved in a 5 minute phone call, followed by an email containing a "patch" to use, until the permanent fix is incorporated into the next update. Updates containing the permanent repair would often show up within a couple of business days.
From my very first use of the old .dos program in 1989, Construction Link has been very ease to use, easy to learn, (program updates and applications) and easy to teach, (new employees).
I would like to see the ability to vary the margin of markup to certain subcontractor quotes. Preferably on the Markup Summary page. But maybe even on the individual SMC tables. There are certain subcontract scopes that are inevitably either high risk or high maintenance from a prime contractor, GC stand point.

The program "thinks" like an estimator would think. That is it is easy to assign the five items almost every bid item would take. Labor, Equipment, Material, Sub-contractor and miscellaneous. I tell people all the time, We have an easy business. You either make a mistake in the estimating or in the field. This along with "Field Link" pretty much give you the feed back on a daily basis so you can address the problem right away.
On large bids the program is somewhat slow.
