The demonstrations and continuing support were excellent. I was impressed with the way it counts multiple drawings.
Really easy to use. Fast & efficient take offs. Check sheet/drawings at end.
It takes a little bit of practice at the start but don't be put off! Play with the software and ask for help when you get stuck/don't understand what you are trying to do.

Great, would definitely recommend. Saved time on pricing jobs.
It's very easy to use and guidance is available very quickly.
Unable to move plans between disciplines
Thanks for the great review Nick! Being able to move your drawings between disciplines would definitely be useful – we have a feature request for it. You can add your vote by searching 'Move drawings / pages between disciplines' at the 'Give feedback' section on our orange support button in-app.

Countfire is a useful software for take-offs, saving time and money from printing and manually counting, you select a symbol and it automatically counts it across all of the drawings! An improvement would be an auto-orientation correction. As currently if a symbol is rotated at all or displayed slightly differently it won't register it and you have to select that individual symbol for it to recognize it. Although the development of the software has been fantastic and the customer support is second to none! never experienced such great customer support! Well done
The Customer Support and Ease of use
Slow Loading times when selecting drawings
Thanks Ben! I wanted to let you know we've just released a feature which allows you to automatically count symbols that are the same, but rotated through different angles :)

makes counting 500% faster
Symbol recognition is powerful and easy to use. Collating is made easier to extract when using Excel for other job aspects.
Not entirely compatible with drawings created from certain CAD or drawing software. The ability to manually count rectifies this but not entirely.

Not having to waste time producing hand markups
I have better things to do than manually markup drawings, It's probably shortened the process by about 75-80%. I've found other uses for its capabilities, so it's, even more, cost effective than just its use of tender bids.
Having to pay.

Accurate and backed up take-offs in a detailed excel report but can be slower than would like to get it all taken-off, checked, demarcated and corrections made.
Great online support, automatic symbol recognition, good checks, and reports. No installation, being able to operate from any computer via the browser.
Can be slow to load drawings particularly switching between drawings. Can be slow to process drawings. Needs a drawing revision function, to update/switch between drawing revisions and identify/compare changes easily. Dependent on drawings being developed correctly to suit the needs of the software which can be difficult when dealing with consultants.

I tested it in a very complex proyect that probably in the normal way (printing the drawings and counting manually) it could take more than a week, but using countfire it took only 1 hour and a half. Save time, save money and most important give accurate information.
The time you spend in a hole proyect is a Time saver
at this point everything is fine

(I know that you are working on this) but linear measurement would be very useful. (Hard to explain) Not a huge problem, but when you have a lot of selections and have to scroll down to select the bottom one you can't because there are three lines of commentary in the way. Very quick for doing a job with repetitive floor. New update was very useful.

Thanks Jamie! Wanted to post an update on this one. Linear measurements are now live, along with area measurements. Also, in addition true automatic counting, we've added a manual count function too. In terms of the scrolling down bug you reported, that's now fixed too!

Overall experience is very good, helps a lot when trying to put a quick price together at early stages.
I had been meaning to try Countfire for some time now and I am glad I finally did so. It's extremely easy to use and the customer support is second to none, they assist you all the way, to a point that if you ask for a feature that they don't have yet, they add it to their suggestion box with your vote. So I'm assuming that once they have enough votes for a certain feature request they will develop it.
not much to dislike really, my only suggestion would be a slightly more affordable subscription cost for users that don't have lots of projects to do each month.

The helpdesk support is second to none, very helpful knowledgeable guys. the only cons are not being able to exclude something from the count easily, but this rarely affects how we use countfire.

Thanks for your kind words about our support Roger! Quick note regarding excluding items from the counts. We've got demarcations that allow you to easily split quantities down into different areas (even after you've finished a project), and it's also possible to create a separate class of symbol that you can ignore in Countfire's final outputs.

Two weeks into our trial period and I cant believe we did not buy this years ago. This software takes all the labour out of manual counting and presents the result in Excel format ready to integrate into any pricing document. You always get the feeling the lads are there in the background watching you because if any issues arrive they are on the messenger straight away to talk you through it.
No more printing plans, automated counting and the manual measuring. Easy to use.

Overall very good system. If on the manual measure/count you could have preset symbols for bends, tees etc for containment and if there was a data base for different containment types and sizes so that you could select rather than manually create. Maybe kits of some sort.
Ease of use, Being able to measure linear lengths, Counting symbols on mass, the spreadsheets that are processed are easy to read and adjust to suit.
Having to manually count when symbols are of a poor quality. If the wrong symbols were hi-lighted on the check sheets for the symbols would make the evaluation easier

This software brings take off into the 21st century. I'm new to estimating. Prior to using this software, i was amazed how relatively primitive take off was. It was very time consuming, as the take off has to be 100% accurate, or as near as possible. With this software, you can be totally confident with accuracy. It is quick to use. The more work is required, the faster it is. Thus saving you more time. Any issued i have had, have been dealt with very quickly, and very easily.

Thanks very much John. Glad you're impressed with Countfire! We've now added measurements too so it's possible to measure containment and also linear feature lighting etc. It can also do area and in addition to the true automatic counting function, we've got a manual counting function. Hope that helps!

Easy to do the take-off within few seconds, fast and user friendly, Can get the take off quantities in excel sheet.
Perfect software, and helped lots when we dealt with lots of electrical based drawings at the DIMO Construction site. Allowed us to do the separation between regions on the drawings and Had a option to split the take-off details into the Excel Sheet.
There is nothing to describe any cons for this software from my perspective because I used the software for little period of time(3 months)
