Pros

Great system, keep up the good work. You have a good team of intelligent programmers and customer service providers.
It is very user friendly and it is very easy to find necessary documents. The search bar is a great asset that I use frequently to find documents if I do not know where to look.
It has the potential to be a great tool, giving feedback on the status of invoices entered. It is great having the ability to see the progress and process of invoices entered.

Pros

The program has been really great for improving our tracking and management of changes and decisions. The software continues to improve and add features, which is great and the support is excellent.
It's also great to know that they are continually working to improve this software to make it even more user friendly for construction companies.
Not all clients will use it, but those who do love it. We use the mobile app on our iPhones and it's great to add quick notes in the field or look up important information.

Cons

Trying to do regular work at the same time as implementation will lead to delays and the implementation only being halfway complete, and many users will complain about lack of functionality.
The pricing is horrible for all of the software's limitations. As my title suggests, it is basically a very expensive file organizer.
When approving a submittal, it will disappear from the Workflow. And I can no longer review and find the entry and related documents.

Cons

We were looking to eliminate places of duplicate entry - not create more. Document management is horrible.
Time to finally transition to ProCore and let Co-Construct keep their mess. I rather pay the higher fee for a service that won't drive away my customers.
Problems with entering taxes. Uses a text format rather than Word in Proposal/Estimate section.

Great Product! I would recommend for any home builder or general contractor

Pros

Communication that it provides you with between you and your client are great. It makes it a great point of reference if the client does not remember their choice or product selection. Also great for change orders. Its instant so the client always remains updated.

Cons

The only con I would say is the variety of tabs, I like quick and simple. Possibly too many options to complete one task.

Worth the effort

As a new builder, I was seriously struggling with selections. This is a much better way for my clients to make their selections, and also for me to record their decisions in a central location. Now everyone participates, and everyone has access to the same information. Great concepts!

Pros

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I appreciate the scheduling part of the software. I didn't think I needed much help in that area, but it has stepped up my game on so many ways.

Cons

Taking the time to set up the selections template can be daunting for a new builder. I did not have any pre-written specifications or options. Nevertheless, it is worth the work, and once again, makes me better as a builder.

Changed the way we do business for better

We are a custom home builder based out of Austin, Texas. Being a custom home builder, we face the challenge of keeping all selections and change orders organized. Co-Construct solves that problem. They have recently added a budget tracking module that allows us to be able to share budget information with our clients. We tried using other software, but we found that there was a large learning curve and had many applications that were not relevant to the custom home builder. We have been using Co-Construct for about four years now and love the ease of use, customer support and the upgrades that have been established since we started using Co-Construct.

Best Overall Construction Management Software

Overall Co-Construct was a better fit for us than builder trend which we tried for about a month or two. The pricing structure of Co-Construct fit our business far better.

Pros

There are several pros to the software but I would have to say the customer support is the number one thing that stood out to us...especially early on.

Cons

The software is pretty good, but at times can feel just a little "clunky" (not refined...especially some of the "choices" and "specs and selections" areas.

Exceptional product for managing multiple home remodeling projects at the the same time

If you are a home remodeler or builder, this software is most like going to save you time and money if you use it the way it was built to be used.

Pros

The scheduling module has helped us make sure that we keep to the projects timeline and at the end compare how we did to what our baseline was at the start of the project. Our clients really like the ability to have a project management tool that allows them to communicate, see overview of the financials, make selections, approve change orders, see pictures, access project files and have a repository for messages in one place. The mobile app is a huge benefit to us because we can update the schedule in the field, see what tasks are due to be completed while at the job site and look at a file when out of the office.

Cons

Would like the ability to know when we have overbooked an employee or sub for the day when preparing and updating the schedule when running multiple projects.

I really don't know how we managed our business before we got involved with Co-Construct. This is a revolutionary program to the building industry and a must have to assist builders with streamlining there business. I suggest you invest sometime to learn all the features and functionality of this software it will make your life much easier.

Pros

Everything is in one spot and easy to track for the builder, subcontractors and home owners. You will never be in a finger pointing situation everything is clearly documented.

Cons

I would like to send bid request updates to only one specific Sub not the entire group. Sometimes I need to adjust a bid request and i don't want it to go to everyone in my request.

Increased profitability on jobs due to communication tools, details don't fall through the cracks. Have used this software for 5+ years and would recommend to any builder looking for a software that can streamline the construction process.

Pros

Communication hub so no one misses a message or question.

Cons

There have been no cons to report, other than some of the tools that we elect not to use as is doesn't benefit our business model such as time clock.

Any small builder looking to up their company operations and their client interface should consider. We continue to grow with COCONSTRUCT and have dedicated a staff member to giving weekly classes to our team on better practices with the system.

Pros

The tracking of our projects with all divisions of the company. The ability for the client to participate in many areas creates an environment that is healthy for both parties in the transaction. Gives them true clarity to what is and is going to happen on their project.

Cons

Lack of all access on tablets or phones. We are wanting our field guys to have tablets instead of laptops but everyone claims limited function.

We're a custom home builder with unique homeowners that demand exquisite results. We used to rely on spreadsheets and had limited details to pass on to sub contractors. Now everyone is in the loop, has defined selections, a complete schedule and awesome communication.

The software is highly intuitive and easy to use for the non-technical while not compromising on its features/functionality. - Scheduling tool is great (easily build online CPM schedules, while assigning trades, and looking across multiple jobs) - Easy job log tool - Great communication tool for selections/specifications - Capacity for general communication

Cons

The software is not for every builder. It is great for the custom market that requires more hands on experience with the client. Software does not have an open API (though there are integrations with basic accounting software)

Stay Away

Started out well, but got worse and worse as time went on. Could never get straight answers from customer service. Overall do not recommend it, especially to builders just starting out. And forget it if you want to every transfer your data out of it. They make it almost impossible, and will never refund your payments, even if they are at fault. I wish someone would actually resolve my issues I have right now.

Pros

Keeps you organized, but any other management system achieves that. Clients like it. Can customize your branding pretty well.

Cons

For the price, the program is completely gutted. You pay an exorbitant amount per project, and still get less features than other programs like Builder Trend. It’s clunky, poorly laid out, and the customer service is terrible. I’ve had to wait on the phone over an hour on multiple occasions and I know they don’t have that many clients. Can’t chat for tech support. No account managers. Again, save your money. So basic for how expensive it is, especially now that Builder Trend has a $99 option for unlimited projects.

Alair Homes is a custom home builder and renovator based in Canada. We looked at most builder project management software, and it became clear that Co-construct was the easiest to use and the friendliest to our customers. Before Co-construct we mostly used Excel sheets and paper-based outlines. Any problems we have had along the way were handled promptly and professionally. Three years ago, Donny personally answered the tech help line and the sales line. We use Co-construct for all our jobs, and it's a great sales tool when we show our customers.

Almost 10 Year Users

I believe we were early adopters in early 2010 of a new product. Its been a pleasure to watch it evolve and get more sophisticated, and incorporate ours and others feedback. While many of the accounting integration aspects are un used by us it clear they have been responsive to users requests.

Pros

Selections and Money We are a very custom builder and the selections tab allows for thorough and documented communication of a choice. The financial tab allows for easily keeping the client current on investment expectations, especially as they make choices in selctions.

Cons

Not much, but if I had to say one thing it might be the schedule. It has evolved a lot in the almost 10 years we have used it, but it still can be glitchy and not as sophisticated in some ways as MS Project which we moved from.

Ability to discuss items with the client and have a record of all discussions made. Photos allow the client to see progress on-site without having to visit regularly and helps if the client is working interstate or in the country. Able to review financials so that there is always an up to date record of how the project is travelling.

Pros

The program is easy to use for both the builder and the client to view and update. All functions required for the project is readily accessible. Able to update records from your phone which allows updates to be provided whilst on-site

Pros

The Coconstruct software is designed well for our business as a custom home builder & spec home builder. It provides a "one-stop shop" to address the many facets of the construction business from estimates, budget, specs & selections, scheduling, tasks, warranty and provides a seamless avenue for communication across all these disciplines. The best thing of all has been the buy-in or acceptance and feedback for our clients and vendors. We are a small company and they think we have invested in an easy to use and effective tool for all of us to operate and function within.

There are a few areas where some improvement could be made. The warranty section could have a better means for providing client contact info for vendors and perhaps a better way to train companies that are new and unsure how to get started. A mentor program of sorts for learning the tricks and pitfalls.

While this product was not best for our needs ultimately (as specialty contractors) it is an amazing product for the custom home builder. The customer service was top-notch and the company went way above and beyond to try to make it work for our niche.

Pros

The best companies put themselves in their customer's shoes and solves their problems. Co-Construct does that to one of the highest levels I've seen.

Cons

This isn't really a con, but it's specific to customer home builders. Ultimately it didn't work out for us as specialty contractors.
