User friendly system. Easy to adjust work flows to fit our needs.

I used to work as an assistant project administrator for a university facilities engineering department and e-Builder helped us in so many ways, especially at the end of our fiscal year. All contracts and addendums and what we owed/ were owed was all on one easily navigable place.
E-Builder keeps files, bids, insurance policies, and other sensitive documents organized and secure throughout the construction process. It is easy to track addendums, revised budgets, and extended contracts with this software.
There is a learning curve with e-Builder, but with some practice using it makes the process of completing a construction project much more efficient (from an administrative standpoint).

It keeps our KH and budget in e-Builder lined up. When the systems are tied out we know we can move forward using the tool effectively.
I like the approval process setup in the system. It seems to work efficiently and helps guide projects from beginning to end. I think having documents and approvals for each is good as well.
Sometimes I get overwhelmed with processes and emails setup by the Facilities team. We need more users on our team and that is not an e-Builder issue.

I like having all of the information for particular projects at my fingertips. I also like the notices I receive when items are in my court. The software also allows "ball in court" responsibilities to be tracked easily. I frequently use the report module as I over see several projects. I also like being able to access the software from my phone.
Depending on the time of day, the software response can be slow. This is probably a function of my internet connection.

The thing that I love most about e-Builder is how customizable it is. Unlike all of the other "out-of-the-box" management software systems I've seen, e-Builder is able to replicate your current processes online and make everything run more efficiently. And once things are up and running, you can easily see ways to improve your processes and quickly implement those changes. The icing on the cake of using e-Builder is the transparency it creates, leading to accountability on all sides. I wouldn't want to manage a project without it.
It's flexibility in customization.

After 12 years experience, this is one of the best software's I've used. Having a support team providing continue education, and the Elevate conference, which I'm looking forward to in September.
From the beginning, I've been able to use the software with either no or little training.
Unable to report across modules. Contacts module, unable to see all commitments with the limit of 500+, which I've sent a product idea for filters. More information regarding formulas.

As designer, I should review the submittals and RFis which were sent from many contractors. If i keep tracking E-builder, it is fine. But the projects are over 8 ~ 10 what I involved, I felt it is not easy to find and arrange the issues by dates and communication history.

It was like we all had an extra person that organized all of the project information. There are several very diverse team members (Museum Staff, Designers, Contractors, State Employees, etc.) and they all got good value from the product. The storage capacity for museum information was especially helpful.
I liked that we could "start from scratch" and not have to try to conform to some boiler plate software.
The calendar does not seem to be as functional as it needs to be. When meetings or attendees change, they don't update easily.

The software is very user friendly and easy to use. I especially like the drag and drop feature when uploading files.
There are a number of customer support people who do not have very good product knowledge. The last call I made, I ended up explaining to the customer support rep how I resolved the issue on my own. He had no clue. It's annoying when you call for help and you know more about the software than the eBuilder person you are talking to.

e-Builder made the collection and organization of project information we need to track our capital projects program.
The ease of use, transparency with clients/vendors and ability to use for all project information.
Report (BI) writing is limited. The BI function doesn't allow reporting across different groups of data. Reports can be linked but not the same as being allowed to report on various sections of data.

The product has been very easy to use and our overall adoption has been relatively quick. It has allowed us to move from managing capital projects through Excel to a more unified format for reporting, documentation, and project governance.
The reporting has not been as flexible out of the box as we had hoped. Even though the information no longer resides on Excel, we are still importing data from eBuilder into Excel to provide the needed flexibility in reporting. This has also hindered the process of creating dashboards that provide the needed information to executive staff. Data Integrations have also been a challenge. We hope that the new API roll out will be helpful in integrating data from our PeopleSoft financial system.

better project communication and accountability.
Ability to keep project related information in a single location. To keep track of items and whose court they are in for action.
The submittal module. Perhaps a slimmed down version that allows for single item submittals for smaller projects. Having to continually create a register and use packages is cumbersome when you have a smaller number of submittals.

I have utilized e-Builder as a User in the provision of contracted architectural and engineering planning, design and construction administration and observation services since January 2013 and have during that time frame experienced a cloud based information management tool which has grown with the needs of its Users and responded to inputs. The "Processes" initially were not intuitive to myself I have found them improved over time. File naming protocols and time line filing of documents would help with consistency project to project. But these are likely Client (your) driven parameters.
User friendly and for the most part an ease of use navigating through different phases of services provided to the client under a professional services contract
Nothing specific comes to mind, the sequencing of construction submittal document file names and retention within project files

The ability to adapt to our ever changing business processes without having to have eB make the changes for us.
Cost. I have a hard time justifying to our management/auditors the cost of this program but more specifically the cost of integrations and maintenance. ONLY because e-Builder will not provide hourly pricing rates for their development costs--which is pretty much the industry standard.

I have been working with eBuilder since 2015. Our project implemented eB and we developed processes to make eB more efficient. A great tool to work with.
strict way to manage documentation, easy to use once you learn the processe. Customer service is there when needed, really helpful.
None, but needs improvement in the area of report development...the user interface for ceeating reporrs is not friendly.

easy to use and the layout is great and easy to understand. navigation is smooth. the attachments is easy to do and find. The customer support is great and responds in a timely fashion. the font is easy to read and understand. multiple drop boxes are useful
sometimes work doesn't save correctly. I would put in a report and sometimes it doesn't save and I have to re submit the report

if you are looking for a construction management tool without having to build out all your process, eBuilder will do the trick.
Great out of the box construction management tool. Built in modules and processes help managers to manage their projects on time and on budget.
Reporting and dashboarding is a little lacking. it lacks by not being able to print nice 1 pager reports and dashboards to pass around.

Our company is able to upload reports to our clients in a timely manner.
Very easy to upload reports into the system. E-Builder has a very supportive customer service department. I have used them several times and they were super quick and helpful in solving my issues.
Would like to learn how to rename reports already uploaded and/or delete them and re-upload with proper name when needed.

If you are missing some information the system wont allow you to go to the next step. Another great thing is if you happen duplicate invoice numbers or commitment numbers, the system will also let you know. We use this system daily, and all day for our projects and it is one of the easier sites to navigate through when we have projects
Not being able to see all the projects on the Home page for us to choose from. I would also like more options for us to edit the home page to our liking for our projects.

E-Builder is a useful tool for Project management and program management. It's interface could be more intuitive, and its browser compatibility should be increased to lineup with the current browser generations.
E-builder allows you to manage all aspects of a project form one location without having to stray from the website.
E-builders lack of intuitive design and browser limitations can be very frustrating at times.

One place to see and house project information. I love the reporting and process abilities. Still room for improvement, but still very handy.
-Meeting minutes is missing a huge aspect with not having the ability to publish meeting attachments with the notes and having impromptu attendees. -The bidding module needs more settings to account for all the different ways bid can be processed. -Drag and drop documents from emails. Owners still needs to maintain a transition location to move documents into eBuilder.

Switched from 10year old construction commitment control software a year ago, and only wish we had done it sooner!
Ease of use for reviewers, made w project owners in mind- you don't have to look at some construction application and imagine how you might be able to apply t to your corporate building program. Mobile access , reviews, approvals a breeze and even easier than suing the website, for the traveling executive.
Could always be cheaper! Interface w Corporate accounting software (in our case, peoplesoft) takes some work.
