Sage 300 performs great.

2015-01-09

Pros

The Sage 300 product provides a comprehensive solution for construction companies who are interested in combining their estimating, project management, and accounting into one product.

Cons

I wish it could function as a web-based product so that we could share its Project Management capabilities with our Subcontractors and the Owners of our projects. 2.

I would recommend that others first determine the key components that they want from their construction software and at what level of sophistication that they are trying to achieve. Then see if the Sage 300 product fulfills their needs. Perhaps the Sage 100 product would be a better option?

Sage 300 CRE User

2017-10-05

I feel that the knowledgebase needs a lot of work. Too many steps to get to your product. Most of the time, if I pull up a request that has more than one page of listings, I get an error message when I try to go to the second page. It has become almost useless.

Pros

I like the simplicity of the accounting side and the integration between job cost and general ledger.

Cons

Would like to see a simpler change order process with more connections between the subcontractor and the owner changes.

Falling Behind the times

2021-03-16

Unfortunately it seems that innovation and product/feature development has been very slow since the acquisition by Sage.

Pros

From Estimating (which is an excellent product) through the accounting modules to project management, the workflow is pretty seamless.

Cons

It is not clouds accessible and project management modules has fallen behind the times, especially compared to a product like procore.

RELIABLE AND ACCURATE ACCOUNTING SYSTEM FOR THE CONSTRUCTION JOB

2019-07-09

SAGE is an amazing application for preliminary stage cost estimation of construction works, and at the post contract stage, great for project management.

Pros

Easy to customize for report generation, navigation on the interface is also very easy, the accounting system is very reliable organised and accurate, it’s a versatile and rich application, I think I still need to learn more to maximize the potential of SAGE

Cons

The customer support needs to be more responsive to questions about some of the application features, the application is a complex one, I think, we need a tutorial program or forums to learn more about this application, so many features I need to know about. Thanks.

Great integrated software

2017-10-05

Pros

The integration- My project managers can estimate a project and we can track the job costs and accounting in the same software.

Cons

But I make it easy by setting up shortcuts to the tasks they use (clear lien waivers or the couple common job cost reports the project managers use)

Sage 300 Review

2017-02-01

I can't say enough of how happy I am that it integrates with Excel and if you don't want to invest in excel custom reports if your accountant uses ODBC at all they can extract the information easily.

Pros

AP system (easy of entry, avoid duplicates Job Cost (track multiple projects, ensure they are invoiced, reports by vendor, by code) Cash Management System(reconcile your statements so easily, transfers between companies are so simplified, make an entry on the fly) GL (reports ...allow you to analyze your accounts)

Cons

That being said you can also order customer reports if that is what you are looking for.
