STACK vs RSMeans Data Online Comparison

Very easy to use, and navigate. The support is great, always helpful to have live support when you need it.

Not much integration. We use STACK and RSMeans. would be great if they worked together.

I like that all plans and data is saved online. It's also great that all users in our company can look at all information. Makes for much better communication

I wish that there was a place to create your own specific units. We have pre-set units on certain items that we have to re-measure every time on every plan. We would love to be able to pre-set a certain measurement for specific things and only have to quantify on plans

The take off software is among the best I've ever used. Simple and easy, the Shift Line function makes simple areas very fast.

There isn't a local option vs all online.

Ease of use and overlay of bidset. Ability to immediately turn takeoff into estimate. Ability to turn takeoff reports into work orders....and much more

Time and paper savings.

You might miss some little things reviewing plans online rather than hard copies.

It's all online including takeoff reports, updates by itself, and I can use this online tool anywhere with a computer.

Sometimes the website can be lagging a small bit, but it isn't enough for me to notice it. One notable thing is that you can't clear the custom scaling selection after you make it, so selecting the scale has a tons of options.

Lean, intuitive interface. Organizes takeoff items and assemblies Easy to set up custom assemblies and update them quickly as needed. Easy to import any drawing type for takeoffs. It's accessible online from any computer or mobile device. I can access project data from the field. Generates reports easily via excel integration.

I would like to see more options for generating customized reports that are ready to send to another party without relying on excel. It would be good if I could add company and project information, (Name, address, etc) from the project page and generate a nice looking report to send out without going through the additional step of transferring to excel.

I liked the ease of the on screen takeoff software. The whole system itself was not difficult to navigate. I liked the ability to export to excel.

It was only online based which caused some issues if the internet was not fast enough.

Online takeoff that the office to the field

Multi window option when completing takeoff. When updated plans coming out it is not user friendly.

There is someone always online to help via messaging.

Sometimes crashes, but the stack team gives us updates on when the problem will be fixed.

The takeoff function is the feature we use....it is very user friendly and has allowed us to quote many more jobs by reducing the time to complete takeoffs.

The options to download project data are limited....in our case, it would be very helpful to be able to download data into a project tracking report or spreadsheet.

Price and some features example choosing to edit then you have to drag to choose the 2nd multi-select, etc and the labels only 2 for reports

Easy to use for simple tasks

High price for one license. all your data in the cloud with is good and bad. What happen when you cancel your subscription do you lose all that data??

The ease and the data collection. The simplicity Of the software made it easy to pull out the required data.

No layout Function. It also didn't allow for multiple subtractions from the data. I would like to have seen a quicker way to Matt squares.

As far as simplicity you don't get much more simple than Stack. I use stack occasionally when I have a lot of takeoffs to do on plans. I used to use BlueBeam for everything but Stack is much easier when you're having to do a lot of takeoffs and need a better summary once you are done. It just seems like you can draw easier and quicker than on BlueBeam. I also like the feature that highlights everything once you have done the takeoff in a certain room. There is an almost no learning curve on using this software and anybody can pick it up right away. I feel like this would be a much more important piece of software if you did not use Bluebeam and only used adobe to view the PDF drawings.

I don't really like that it is only available online and wish it was something you can download. Something I don't want to be online when I'm doing the takeoffs and wish it was a dedicated download. This also makes it a little glitchy at times. Although it has crashed I've never lost my work.

Stack's online platform is easy to use and allows me to keep all my projects in one, easily accessible place.

As for all online-web based platforms, from time to time the program will run slowly. This could be due to internet speed or browser issues.

At my figure tips, don't need a stack of pricing guides on my desk.

Tricky to learn and sometimes hard to search for things.
