Definitely a good business solution

I would consider switching off of CF if I was made an offer by a similar company who offers this feature. (I simply haven't looked yet, but plan to do a system review in the fall).

Pros

The ease of the real time online booking for our customers and the automated guest management functions

Cons

-can't return partial funds to a credit card, must return full amount charged -managing AR/AP payments is confusing and a huge hassle -no way to visually separate products by time on the dashboard calendar (i.e.: afternoon tour from morning tour, etc, based on start time)

Needs more integrations such as CRA, and calendars for scheduling rentals - Needs Customer accounts so they can sign in and re-order what they had previously - Needs Customer rewards program - Inventory needs to be able to capture more info on each item

Pros

Very transparent and intuitive software. Easy of use is a top priority and Checkfront nailed it on this!

Cons

Some technical editing on the backend was tricky but customer support was there to help every step of the way!

I have a small business and operate it myself and need to automate everything I can to have Time for other tasks and Checkfront help me with that.

Pros

I no longer need to spend time with customers in the phone because they do everything online and I get a notification when a booking is made.

Cons

I would like to see a addition where I can setup 1/2 hour booking as of now it is only possible to book whole hours

Checkfront is decent and could get the job done. But there are better products out there (like Cloudbeds) that offer more functionality, support, services, etc. at the same price or lower.

Pros

It has a nice user interface for both front and back end users, good payment processing, decent reporting, and automated emails.

Cons

Checkfront lacks an availability calendar for front end users, which is a feature that should be standard in today's industry.

Comprehensive system with good support

I have been very impressed that Checkfront has been able to manage all aspects of our reservation system (online booking, calendar, inventory, waiver forms and integration with our POS).

Pros

I have an IT background and was able to install and configure this system mostly on my own. I needed help with a few more complex configuration questions but pretty impressive that a system this sophisticated can be setup by the end user. It is very flexible and powerful but this also means that setup can get quite involved.

Cons

Reporting is a weakness with no custom reporting options.

Reporting is great and notifications to customers is easy to set up.

Pros

Great reporting, easy to use, well priced.

Cons

My only slight issue I have with them, is I would love to attend a 2-3 day Checkfront "University". I get the feeling we can do more with Checkfront and are only using 75% of it. Of course, they have a great and very efficient configuration call that helps and this probably is the more efficient route to go anyway.

I've met the team at a conference/travel technology event once and it just shows that this company is built and run by people - real people with a passion to make it easier for anyone to run their business without worrying about the technical details.

Pros

It's got it all.. from booking setup to distribution channels.

Cons

Resource management feature is not live yet, but it sounds like this will be a complete game-changer; making it possible to manage all guides, transport, the hiring of equipment and even activities and accommodation required for trips and tours.

Pros

There is a lot of functionality that allows for multiple reports, and charts to track every aspect of our reservations.

Cons

I wish that it had more options in how to track daily, monthly and annual numbers for each individual reservation type.

It was a good system to get me started in my business but it doesn't offer me the flexibility i need. It was easy to set up.

Pros

The layout is good on the calendar pager and the reports offer valuable information.

Cons

The system is too time consuming and requires manual input when it should be cross checking dates and pop up an alert if incorrect, quite often the event doesn't work....Frustrating!

Overall Checkfront has greatly simplified my business, but the lack of some basic functionality makes it unnecessarily difficult to use on the backend. I would choose different software if I were starting over until the Checkfront software matures.

Pros

The built-in integrations for WordPress and Facebook are very professional in appearance and connect into existing websites easily.

Cons

There is no easy way to look up previous customers since the search function only supports first and last names so I have to use an external spreadsheet for customer lookup.

Online bookings and management control

Pros

Checkfront exceed my expectations! Everything was very simple to set up, and any doubt during the setup process most of the times is well clear in the knowledge base articles. For an off the self-software program it is the top in the market, believe it because I tested 3 before taking this decision to go ahead with Checkfront.

Cons

The only thing for me that needs to be improved is the support times available due to the time differences between Portugal and the United States. But the times of response are top, maximum 12 hours.
