Very robust and great customer service

Reviewed 4 years ago

Our experience has been very positive. Our account manager is fantastic and was extremely helpful during our onboarding phase. We do a lot of out-of-the-box things in our registrations and have learned how to work the system to accommodate them.

Pros

Because Cvent has been around for so long and is constantly developing and improving, the system is very robust and can handle most event registration and reporting needs.

Cons

The learning curve for the Standard event registration was pretty long, but since they are in the midst of releasing their new Flex events, that should reduce it for new users.

Great for event/attendee management

Reviewed a year ago

The ability to communicate with large numbers of people and set emails with logic to send automatically at a variety of triggers such as abandoned registration or 2 days before an event is incredibly helpful. It also helps with ticketing and tracking attendance and for large multi-day events the ability to customize everyone's individual schedule is wonderful.

Pros

It takes a little bit of learning to get used to the system but it's very easy to pick up once you get the basics down. I love how many options are available for total customization. The big things for this software is how comprehensive it is for communicating with attendees and managing details for large scale, multi-day events. It's very easy for participants to register, gather information, pay and receive communications automatically. Everything can be automated and set far ahead of time. Data and analytic elements are thorough and easy to use.

Cons

It does take some time to learn the system as there are just so many options. Help articles aren't always up to date.

Beginning to End Event Management & Support

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

Great software to support your events and make it way easier to register and attend events for you and your guests. Account managers are well-versed in the product, full of best practices, and great to work with.

Cons

Pricing structure and add-on fees can make it hard for smaller organizations or state-funded schools to justify cost. Editing the site contact can be tricky at times, extra spaces, line breaks, even if copying over a perfectly fine program you have to double check

REVIEW ON CVENT

Reviewed 3 years ago

So far so good.

Pros

I like the fact that its easy to use. It has made the whole process of collecting information about attendees so easy. You can set up seating chart, and send communication to attendees any number of times you want.

Cons

there are limitations like: You cant pull one report for multiple inquisium feedback surveys. It allows to pull one report for one survey at a time. Budget: It needs to be more user friendly. Also there are few options related to event budget that cannot be pulled in reports.

increase efficiency while lowering operating expenses

Reviewed 5 years ago
Pros

- ease of use - ability to create templates - ability to set up registrations to allow everyone in the world to register, or just those on an invitation list - constant updates to keep improving the platform - Cvent is very receptive to customer feedback and implementing changes based on response

Cons

- can be a bit intimidating coming into the platform with no experience - may take a few events to get the hang of it and have the best looking registration sites

e-RFP tool is easy to use and makes life easier. Expecting great things with the addition of FLEx

Reviewed 6 years ago

I can do everything in one place. I can send out RFPs, collect proposals, award contracts, then transfer that information into my event website.

Pros

The e-RFP tool can send out multiple RFPs at once and pull a report with everything I need. The Event Management tool allows me to completely control my event; from booking the travel to collecting special requests to pulling together custom reports.

Cons

The current event management module does not connect well with the travel portion. I find myself calling support or creating my own work around because the two system do not integrate.

Cvent for Internal Events

Reviewed 2 years ago

Cvent has saved us significant time with managing our events, and has helped us eliminate many spreadsheets. The tool helps consolidate our registration, project planning, and reporting all in one easy to access site.

Pros

Cvent was quick to implement and adopt. We contracted in July and executed our first event in September. The system is incredibly user friendly and the community articles are easy to reference when building a site.

Cons

This software is geared more towards customer facing events, so sometimes we struggle manipulating the feature to fit our internal events. For example, the site always suggests you have session registration included in your registration, but many of our programs the attendees are given an agenda and cannot pick what they want to attend.

Software Review

Reviewed a month ago

Mostly it is good, easy to use and understand. Only frustration is after paying that much still have to work on receipts manually.

Pros

24-7 customer service makes my life much easier

Cons

It does not provide receipts for payments to my clients. If they register a group and pay for a group total in one time it gives receipt only for last person paid.

My experience with Cvent has been very positive and easy to navigate. The Cvent community is helpful

Reviewed 5 years ago

Organization and functionality

Pros

Some of the pros with using Cvent are its multi-functionality, ease of use, and the choice of express or standard registration. Being able to find answers in the Cvent community or put in a ticket without much effort helps accelerate customer service.

Cons

One of the cons would be that I didn't have control over our plan until recently and some things are not included that would be helpful going forward. Looking forward to plan renewal so that we can revisit our needs.

Vendor response

Hello Cynthia, Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your feedback. I am thrilled to hear that you have enjoyed your Cvent experience thus far! We take great pride in our Cvent community and I am glad that you have found it to be a useful resource. Renewal is always a great time to take a good look at what your needs are and to ask if Cvent can help in additional areas. Let us know if we can help with anything along the way!

Comprehensive Event Management solution

Reviewed 3 years ago

Prior to CVent, our event management solution was a mix of individual email sends and replies and spreadsheet tracking. There was not centralized visibility across the organization to see who was invited to an event or registered to attend. CVent eliminated those problems for us. Our employees also like to see which invitees responded to an invite with RSVP No. CVent appears to be the only event system that has this capability, though this user requirement may be changing soon.

Pros

API integration to Salesforce Campaign object. Allows for different response codes such as Opened, Bounced, RSVP Yes/No, Attended, Did Not Attend. Mobile app for swiping in attendees.

Cons

Complicated administration. Navigation between system administration and event administration is cumbersome. Navigating the API connectors to Salesforce is cumbersome. Pretty costly solution as well. Prepayment for all RSVP Yes and Attended statuses. Forecast your anticipated annual attendee headcount well.

CrowdCompass is ideal and efficient for events, meetings and seminars.

Reviewed 4 years ago

CrowdCompass is the best tool for all kinds of events, all meetings and seminars. It significantly increases the added value of our customers. We managed to choose to do a hidden event. With CrowdCompass we can create dual authentication accounts. We need an option to duplicate events.

Pros

It is the ideal tool for events, meetings, seminars. We managed to increase the added value. CrowdCompass administrators manage to send automatic notifications from their phones thanks to the CrowdPlanner application. In general, it is a very complete and efficient product.

Cons

If I compare it with other products similar to CrowdCompass it works much better, but at a much higher cost. I would like you to have the option to duplicate events.

Excellent

Reviewed 5 years ago

This software gives me the ability to be organized and have everything I need in one location.

Pros

It is officiant, I have control of look, feel or the website to meeting my design needs. I have control of reporting through customization.

Cons

The session reports lack the organization. The reports for the sessions need to be relooked at as I have trouble with sessions with the same name but different dates and times (The report does not identify this). Also have the issue of peoples names coming up more then once because of the session selections.

Best way to organize virtual events

Reviewed 2 years ago

Overall, I've had a very good experience. I had to develop my own workarounds for certain features that haven't been implemented or do not work as I need them to, but all in all, it's a great tool

Pros

Cvent is a wonderful tool to create virtual, physical and hybrid events. It has any possible feature a planner might need and it's very intuitive and easy to use.

Cons

Email creation is still lacking, there's no easy way to duplicate content across several emails and session emails are even more limited.

Amazing product that is constantly improved through user feedback

Reviewed 5 years ago

Saves tons of time and money for my department!

Pros

It sounds silly, but the people are amazing. From the leadership to the help desk, everyone really listens and takes feedback seriously. I also have an amazing partner who is not only implement software, but implement a SMM program throughout my company.

Cons

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a hard to please super-user. Honestly almost all my concerns have been addressed over time. If something doesn't do what I need it to, it's generally updated or I'm given a workaround.

getting better

Reviewed 5 years ago

all in one solution. we had a major crash during event that was caused by several vendors not cooperating with each other. we've eliminated several extra vendors and hope this year goes much more smoothly

Pros

all event needs in one place. hardware and software are fully integrated. a lot of little details about event management have been built in

Cons

needs UX overhaul. api needs to be rewritten. just more around the cms. needs to open up backend to integrate to other CMSs

Vendor response

Thank you for giving us your feedback here on Capterra. I am so glad to hear that you have found our solution to be an "all in one" platform for your events - that is our goal! We are constantly working on improving the user experience and hope to be able to provide you with the updates you need soon! Thank you again.

Don’t make the same mistake

Reviewed 5 years ago

We were users from 2010-2015. Our procurement team who knows nothing about the event business made us switch to a slightly lesser cost option. We paid for it on the back end time and time again. We’re back with CVENT. It was a painful 3 year agreement with another tool. Couldn’t be happier with diving back in and leveraging the Flex version. Also just hired a CVENT specific for an event technology role and will start to integrate and consolidate disparate technologies and fold into the CVENT platform.

Pros

It’s intuitive and flexible and the most advanced tool

Cons

Wish it had a collaborative BEO development function

Daily User

Reviewed 4 years ago

Using this program has halved the amount of time, effort and paperwork it takes to run an event. Everything is more efficient and you can run regular reports to gather any required data.

Pros

The best part of this program is how configurable it is. There's a version and a set of features that will fit your event.

Cons

Their new version of the program, Flex, is still working on some of the features that were standard in Classic. In time, the whole program will be better off, but there's currently some growing pains.

I love this produce and the support I receive.

Reviewed 5 years ago

Peace of mind. A great all encompassing event management system.

Pros

The new Flex platform is amazing. It can not roll out fast enough. It is easy to use for all events no matter the size or complexity. I love that all solutions (Event, OnArrival and CrowdCompass) are seamless .

Cons

It is on the pricey side. My account rep feels more like a salesman and not like a partner. I love the new Flex platform as it is easy to use and flexible but cannot use it due to the inability to currently have a multi language system.

Long time Cvent user who loves the product!

Reviewed a year ago

I love my [SENSITIVE CONTENT]! She is so helpful!!

Pros

Cvent has been a game changer for our team who used to manage all our event registration, check-in and reporting manually. The hours of work it took away and the human error removed from registration/reporting being automated is a game changer.

Cons

Sometimes when new products are rolled out critical features are not ready yet. It is also expensive.

Cvent is the future of events

Reviewed 7 years ago

Cvent software is not perfect- rarely us software like that but I do see that Cvent is taking in feedback and always making changes and improvements. Their focus on more than just registration is amazing- they are providing technology to help all facets of event planning. Customer service is top notch- friendly, helpful and educated.

Pros

Functionality, customer support and future opportunities to add on other features.

Cons

Customization is lacking without ccs help but this should be improved with Picasso. Some things on the back end are difficult to use or find- like waitlists etc. Not always intuitive

Complete and seamless platform

Reviewed a year ago
Pros

Cvent offers tremendous flexibility to customize the event registration and marketing process across our events and programs. It's a comprehensive package that gives us a one-stop shop, rather than using multiple platforms.

Cons

As the platform evolves, there are times when key features that we use not implemented right away. It'susually worth the wait and we can usually find a work around, but it sometimes is not efficient.

Cvent is flexible, powerful, and on the cutting edge!

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

I love that the tool is flexible enough to meet any complex need we have. The company is also always improving their software and expanding their reach to areas we will need help with in the future. Support is great - community for self-help, IM for quick help, call for more complex issues 24/7 which is crucial when onsite.

Cons

The tool can become a little complicated because of how customizable it is and some features look a little out-dated - but new releases solve for both of these problems.

Regonline provides a powerful registration software at a great price. It is somewhat spotty.

Reviewed 5 years ago

Our small non-profit benefited from having a powerful software at a price that still let us run cheap events.

Pros

I like the ability to export detailed reports, conditional logic inside the registration builder, new themes to make registration look nicer and multiple registrant types.

Cons

The software's user interface can be lacking at times, even after a redesign last year. Often you need to go 2 or 3 menus deep to change something, then back out of all of those menus before you can see what that change looks like visually.

It is the main option on the market...

Reviewed 4 years ago

It's a 8.5/10. Sometimes it's pretty simple to get what you need and sometimes you will get frustraded by it. They should improve reports and only launch new features (specially only push us to use them) when they are completly functional, instead of using us as a beta group.

Pros

You can also work around the system to get what you need for the event. There are some limitations though.

Cons

I'm not aware of the cost. This information is held from company users.
