Using GoldMine since 1999 (LAN-Version!) still very helpfull in daily business

2017-08-03

Quick workflow, very good overview about my work and team actions

Pros

Ticket-System is very helpful (even you cannot link an activity to Ticket+Opportunity/Project) 4.

Cons

Datamodel Account/Contact: their should be a separated Account-Database-Table 2. Activities should be linked to Ticket AND Opportunity/Project parallel (you have a project-Issue and want to link activities to the Project as well as to a Support-Case). 3.

Easy to use, good way to keep history of contacts, but email program leaves much to be desired.

2017-08-01

Tracking of historical meetings, phone calls, emails. Filtering for email and phone campaigns.

Pros

Historical record of past contacts with people outside of our firm.

Cons

Email program does not always work properly or easily. Integration with Outlook slows everything down so much that we had to uninstall the integration links.

Good for an implementation from scratch, but not for when you migrate software

2018-08-10

Pros

You can set aside several types of business / project, without problem, good management of graphics / management information.

Cons

Adaptation and implementation take time and require technical expertise, integration with other tools (Marketing) is not simple, the presentation and form of reports should be improved, the general management of emails (Configuration and integration) is deficient, it is a little heavy and slow, the management of the history of an account is not friendly (especially if you have these migrating from other software). poor handling of documents or attachments

GoldMine is a solid CRM and in my opinion it is the best value for the money.

2017-08-01

Sales Forecasts, eMarketing (along with Intelliclick), creating a corporate memory by tracking all contact interactions.

Pros

GoldMine provides all the basic CRM functions and goes way beyond that with excellent integration with Outlook , Excel, and Word along with many other third party software to give it power that will help any company grow their business.

Cons

Installation can be a little difficult because you must install SQL and you have to make sure you get all the correct configurations to that or there will be missing functionality in GoldMine. But that can be corrected after the fact. So, no real big deal.

Best on-premisis CRM application available

2014-05-14

GoldMine is the granddaddy of multiple-user, on-premisis CRM applications.

Pros

Full-featured as any CRM application, more-so than most Buy once, use forever Easier navigation than the leading brands like Salesforce.com and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Software and data are in your hands, not "up in the cloud"

Cons

Configurability can be limited Like any CRM, requires you to think through your business processes before you can configure it properly Configuration is best done through a dealer, which can be expensive

Old, crunchy, inefficient, but I'm stuck with it.

2017-08-01

Basic CRM stuff.

Pros

It's inexpensive, compared to a modern cloud-based solution. It's... not buggy? As it shouldn't be, for software that's been around this long.

Cons

Everything about it screams 1998 -- the user interface, the crappy non-relational database schema, the lack of integration with modern cloud-based sales tools, the obtuse approach to generating reports and doing bulk updates... it hurts my soul to use this when there are far superior alternatives in the CRM space that would bring massive productivity gains, but my team is extremely change-resistant so I'm stuck with it.

Wonderful product, but a bit dated.

2017-08-01

Pros

We love GM for our financial planning firm's CRM. We hold all of our appointments, notes, meeting notes and emails, etc. from our clients in GM.

Cons

The groups and filters feature should be easier to use and export data. The mobile GM edition is not that great.

Goldmine is a good off-the-shelf product for the more cost-sensitive firms.

2017-08-02

Basic CRM features.

Pros

It runs on your server so relatively fast compared to web-based CRMs. You can run your own backups (more work at your end, but at least you know where you data is!).

Cons

Lack of flexibility in terms of integration with other tools. The calendar can't integrate/share data live with the most basic/common tools used today (outlook, ios, etc)!

Fast and efficient CRM

2017-08-01

It allows me to control my contacts and engagements efficiently.

Pros

This is the third CRM I've used over the decades, and the best by several magnitudes.

Cons

So many features that it's hard to locate a solution in the docs, which are in at least two manuals that are very long. Some features are documented in subsidiary manuals, which is good, but still takes time to find answers. You need to have a good relationship with your reseller to answer questions, no matter how experienced you are with software.

Used Goldmine for customer database for our sales department and to record customer history

2018-07-30

Pros

We had years of customer contact information stored and accessible through Goldmine

Cons

There were also the lack of additional feeds natively in the product so we ended up with a lot of data in basic text fields. This data was later lost during conversion as it was not ready index-able and transferable.

We have used Goldmine for many years and it is an integral part of our business.

2017-08-03

Opportunity tracking, Customer Activity History, Email communication

Pros

We've used it for a long time and are familiar with it, initially because local classes were offered.

Cons

New employees struggle to learn it and we are not aware of local classes. New employees see other options on the market and often suggest we change.

Used this product and its ancestors for many years. Mostly reliable and does most of what we need.

2017-08-01

It has served us well for well over a decade, but as I have not looked for a replacement I feel it very likely there is something else out there that is more feature-rich.

Pros

It helps us to be diligent in our contact follow-up, and almost nothing falls through the cracks.

Cons

Should automatically reset after a merge from "All contacts in the following filter/group" to "This contact" so I don't inadvertently start merging a letter to the entire database!

Originally purchased in 2004, we do not use all the functionality & are now looking at alternatives.

2017-08-01

CRM/calendar functionality.

Pros

Originally purchased due to email links/audit trail & recommendation of colleagues at that time. Calendar functionality is good although alternatives have now caught up.

Cons

Upgrades take too long due to size of database. Multiple versions of attachments in mailbox is annoying.

Old School Tried and True

2018-09-12

Goldmine helps us maintain a detailed accounting of our history of customer exchanges and special pricing and relationship-based information.

Pros

Although it is not at the cutting edge of integrative technology, it is a faithful program for recording important customer data and history.

Cons

The version we use is lacking in integrative features, so it doesn’t “share” information with our accounting program (also older tech) causing the need for redundancies.
